Why would they put a price on it though if it wont be for sale?

Lego might only plan on selling the keychain for a limited time, which could be in the near future?

If it wasn't a keychain and had gold hands, it'd be quite cool.

I just found something on my LEGO Store Calendar (July 2009):

For July 5, it says you can get the new LEGO Catalog. If you look closely at the picture of the catalog, you can see the golden minifigure keychain on the left of all of the aliens. There is some text on the minifigure that I can barely make out, but it looks like it says "FREE". Does anyone know what that might mean?

EDIT: Here is an enlarged version of the catalog picture (scanned it myself). You can see the gold minifig keychain.

It might come free with "select orders of $XX.XX or more." Or maybe even free with any order on a specific day...

the link to the item on legoshop.com says its no longer available in this country. i guess lego figured out thier mistake in telling us this, or maybe that it was a promotional product and had no business being up on the shop@home

also, i think that the coupon might be available through that catalog, dont u think? i have alot of those catalogs and someof them have offers like that such as one year there was some free santa MF. and one other time there was an american flag for a penny and things like that. theres usually some paragraph explaining it on the first page and if the catalog comes out on the 5th we dont have to wait muchto find out.

one more thing(yeah i write alot, what more could i say?haha.)

the last catalog that came out i didnt recieve through the mail. any idea why? maybe im not on their mailing list anymore. how do i subscribe to it again? i really want that MF so this is big to me, im trying to make a pure gold knight for my sigfig!

So I just noticed that the Golden minifig Keychain turned up on S@H. It's a campaign in July. Spend $75 (US) or 70€ on S@H or in a LEGO brand retailer store and you'll get one for free. You'll have to enter a certain four letter code at S@H checkout.

I first got a shock when I saw the specified amount on the Swedish page. There it says 700€ (!!). I just thought to myself: "Where the h*ll am I going to get that kind of money? I need to rob a bank!!". But after looking at other countries offers I'm assuming they mean 700 SEK which is about 70€. A little less actually. :)
