sam89 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 It's annoying, since I've already got 4502, but I'm tempted to get this as well, just because the Wedge fig is so cool ;-) It would also be neat to have a Red 5 and a Red 3 next to each other. Hey folks, I've just uploaded some pics of the box of this new LEGO set, and put links on FBTB.NET You can find them behind this link X-O Where did you buy this!?! How much did it cost?!? I'll take a wild guess and say Holland and €69.99 ;-) Bingo. I'm selling one on Ebay now for 74,99€ minimum for anyone who doesn't like to wait up to September. Why 5€ more? Because I bought it in Holland yet I live in Germany... Quote
Morten Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I think this set is just showing that the LEGO Star Wars group has totally lost there creativity. I am not surprised that we get another "redesign" even though it is not really a redesign, but an old set with some new minifigs, talking about old wine on new bottles. I have the problem that I am an collecter that needs every LEGO Star Wars set, and so I have to buy this thing. I hope 2007 gives us some really new sets, but I doubt it. Morten Quote
oo7 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I'm happy cause I didn't get any of the origial x-wings, I just hope this is less that the $88 that I get when I covert 69,99 Euro. Hey, The box does't have a piece count, what the hell? I want to calcutate a price-to-piece ratio to see how much of a ripp-off this will be! |-/ Quote

I want to calcutate a price-to-piece ratio to see how much of a ripp-off this will be! |-/ Remember two things: - Sets are much cheaper in the US than in Europe, so it'll probably be around $50, maybe less. - European sets don't have piece counts. But I believe the piece count is 437 pieces. EDIT: Yoda got there first Quote
oo7 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Wow, I didn't know europeans didn't get peice counts, does it say it anywhere else? Although I did know that the US sets are cheaper than European ones. Hmm, 437, thanks. ;-) Quote
captaintau Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I did originally post that I wouldn't get this set. But with the option to make a Wedge Red 3, I may do, if its cheap enough. Could be part of quite a nice fleet. A thought occurs: We wanted Hoth sets and this is a Hoth set. A further though occurs: We wanted a Wedge and now we've got a Wedge. OK, we're all underwhelmed by it, but LEGO have given us what we wanted. Quote
The Executive Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Hmm, well if they were gonna put Wedge in this set , they could have at least gave us another astromech droid. Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Okie people lets view this set from another perspective shall we ? (I just love those rethorical questions hehe) Its a great set for the very vast majority of customers and kids out there for different reasons. For not a too steep price, kids can have the xwing (not a 84 Quote
Vader Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 And yes Vader, they could at least give Wedge with a new face but oh well !! (bloody cost reduction) *yoda* Hehe :-D Quote
ReZourceman Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Hopefully Ill get it but I wont be happy with the price point. Why oh why is UK Lego so expensive. Its a real downer. Quote
Vader Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Its not just the UK its europe, everytime we all get screwed. Quote
natelite Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 i demand a new rebel helmet with visor dimple. i demand a new trans-orange visor in the shape of wedge's iconic visor. *sweet* btw, if you want a very close mock up of wedge, you can try hikaru's head. the problem though it is a yellow head not flesh tone. :-P (plus the eyes are funny). http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb015 Quote

Ras 74 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 besides, they didn't have to create the xwing once again in order to release leia in a smaller lego set. they could have designed a new set all together... Amen to that Sne! I must agree with Yoda as well. That is always the issus we have to deal with. Even if we have to "coff the dough". But since the most AFOL Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Now I anxiously wait for a member to spot the UCS Tie X-1 in a TRU somewhere in Europe :-D *yoda* Quote
Poohbear Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I've have thought that this head: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626bpb262 would work quite well for Wedge in substitute for the smiley. Quote
Steff Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 yesterday i found the new catalog in a store, but there is no x-wing for the next half year. Its an exclusiv set for TRU and S@h? Good night Quote
chewie Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 I myself don't mind this new set. Mostly because I don't have the Falcon, so no Leia, or Han and the only X-wing I have is the original (still my favourite one) So I think when this comes out in Canada I may pick it up on sale. As for the new Tie UCS. I work at my local lego store so I'll see if I can dig up a pic of it...no gaurentees though. Quote
captaintau Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Is anyone concerned that this set will devalue their Millennium Falcon? I know that's not a consideration of TLC, but just wondering. Quote
Beagle Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Wow, that's a great idea! That head is perfect. And it's got the smug little smile of someone who survived the entire SW trilogy. I'm off to order one right now! Thanks for the idea! I've have thought that this head: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626bpb262 would work quite well for Wedge in substitute for the smiley. Quote
