i think demand will be very high! many collectors will want the new guns for their whole army!

But this might also lead to some baaaad happenings:

Imagine, a collector has 70 troopers waiting for weapons. So he buys 10 army builder sets. He has now 70 troopers with blasters, but 70 new ones sitting around without of any! So he goes and buys another bunch of ten sets! And - guess what - once again there are 70 left over without of their weapons! So he will have to buy ANOTHER bunch! And then....

Finally he will be completely broke and have to sell his house and maybe even his wifes and children and he will become criminal and take drugs and finally commit suicide!!!! X-O X-O X-O

i thought the military was to prevent invasion from other nations. so it does serve a purpose apart from just spewing raw violence. if you want raw violence you would look at organized crime, gangs or pro wrestling (although that is scripted violence :-P ).

i don't think TLG can ever make a convincing argument. it all depends on what their target audience wants. if they want violence, they will produce violence. there are probably groups against military toys which is why they still dont produce it. but if there is no objection from anybody you can bet they will be making them.

What about buying the remaining guns you need from good old Bricklink so these wonderful things won't happen? :-P

I generally don't buy SW sets, but I like the idea of "Battle Packs". Anyone knows what colour are the Battle Droids going to be? Tan? Sand red? Dark tan?

And I hope they do a new version of GG, the old one was disappointing. :-/

Well if this is true, they should be the more "dull" kind of chrome that LEGO have been releasing recently (that I actually think looks better than the old chrome). I might have to get a Battle Droid Pack just to get the Super Battle Droids.

Yeah, I think it's fake too (the gun looks exactly like one of the Little Armory ones. I'll change the pics to a link so that people don't get too excited when they see the pic. ;-)

This is great news for both collecters and people who play with lego. The chrome-y colour will look more accurate and the ones from the Republic Gunship will still be worth the same amount of money.

As a player then I think the dull IG88 chrome would be perfect (although admittedly I haven't even seen that fig in person).

I prefer the dull chrome used on the IG-99 fig to the old shiny chrome. It looks much mor professional in my opnion, and doesn't scratch of as easily.

Yeah, that is an old exploreans droid body. One of the best they produced (they're so fun). The gun is LA, I think I have one of that model. They're pretty cheap, you can buy them at Sith's Toy Box on bricklink.

I do think/hope TLG's guns will be a little bulkier than that, though

Loool, I was doing some TLC thinking here :-D The CSW (set 7250) is only seen on Kashyyyk in the movie BUT TLC decided to have a red clonie piloting the damn thing *wacko* So the pilot should be a Kashyyyk trooper and NOT a red clonie.

So according to TLC, there are red clonies on Kashyyyk :-D
