natelite Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 you can pre-order from tru us. delivery from sept 25. i dont think the set will be sold elsewhere. it's not labeled exclusive but it is being sold exclusively by s@h and tru. Quote
mutley777 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 It better be cheaper than that. I'm expecting Quote
Zane Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I wondered, I've been to my TRU and two Woolworths's and I can't find an A-Wing anywhere. They have the B-Wings, Interceptors, V-Wings and Slave Is, but no A-Wings. They're not even on the UK S@H website... Anyone else having this problem? Quote
mutley777 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 i have not seen one in the UK shops for a while now. my guess is that it will return in the not to distant future but right now lego are running other manufacturing priority's. Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 The stock on my TRU are seriously down !! I bet that the factory only produces late '06 and '07 sets now. So all the rest will depend on stock, and when the stock is gone... Its normal because its a january set and we know TLC and their fantastic capacity to produce what the demand asks :-| *yoda* Quote
Zane Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 So, you think I should grab it ASAP? I've just found it now on Amazon.co.uk. I'll get it from there if all else fails.... Quote
mutley777 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 i'm not sure i agree with yoda here as the sandcrawler disappeared for a while and now it is back on shop@home Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 But the Crawler is an exclusive to SAH and very rare shops (TRU do not carry it...) whereas all the rest are "normal" sets, so I would not count on production soon of those sets (but its only my opinion). Therefore Toa, I would buy it soon to avoid any trouble finding it ;-) *yoda* Quote
Zane Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Righty, I will. Any idea why it's only the A-wing I can't find? Quote
mutley777 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 it's a great set! so demand is high! :-) Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I found an A-Wing with 25% off in my Woolies. I'd look there if I would. I second it being a great set. :-) Quote
batman71 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I found an A-Wing with 25% off in my Woolies. I'd look there if I would.I second it being a great set. :-) Hi I am new here but been visiting for a wee while. I too had trouble getting the new A-wing but eventually found it in Woolies in Stirling. It was only Quote
natelite Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 that's just the suggested retail price. if woolies is anything like kb toys, they usually mark up the set by another 10-20%. TRU routinely adds another 10-20% on popular sets as well. for eg, 7259 arc-170 is now selling for $49.99, a 20% markup from srp. Quote
captaintau Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 But get in anyway regardless of whether its about to stop being available. Its a damn good set. Quote
ReZourceman Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I so should of got another 2 A-wings when I had the chance. They sold out now! Noooo Quote
Zane Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Woolies have never marked up any prices....nor has UK TRU. Quote
Cutty Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Since the release of all the 2006 SW sets I never encountered a wild A-Wing in its natural habitat here in Germany. I admit I didn't visit a Lego-store since a few weeks before those sets had their release, so I won't know whether it's available there. Funny thing though it disappeared in the 2006/2 catalog although it had been in the 2006/1 issue... The Sandcrawler however is being carried by some major department store chains here. Quote
snefroe Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 i think i've seen it twice in Belgian shops and never in large numbers. But then, it's only since the holidays that our shops have been decently filled with Star Wars sets. The a-wing, however, is quite rare. It seems there are two problems: 1) Lego's production capabilitie is severely limited as Yoda explained. That's not a new story, btw, Last year shopkeepers had to wait for 6-8 months before they got anything they ordered and very often they only saw a very small portion of what they wanted 2) distribution lines suck. >:-( instead of going straight through Holland to Belgium, they go to the UK, all the way down and then cross the channel... So they've actually passed Belgium, ended up in France and then drive up north again to Belgium... Their explenation? Lower wages... :-| Quote
UltraPrime Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I never saw one in a store. Picked mine up from ebay in the end. Quote
natelite Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 that's odd. there are lots of a-wings in stores all over the us. Quote
SWMAN Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 They are still alive and kikin in the U.S., both by themselves and in the battle for endor collection, with the a-wing, b-wing, tie interceptor, and star destoyer. Quote
sam89 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Someone has posted a gallery of 10175 on Brickshelf, although he hasn't finished the set yet: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=204430 You can see that there is an interoir. Quote
