Beagle Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 These are a mixed bag to me.... some look great, like the Y-Wing (that's hands-down my favorite.... it's practically a UCS!). Grievous' ship and the landing craft don't do much for me. The AT-ST looks better than it did before, but its face is too long and stretched, with a big gaping mouth. It looks like it was re-designed by Edvard Munch. But the figure that comes with it is great... finally an imperial bucket-head helmet! The blasters are also cool.... and I hope they stick with the traditional, non-painted stormtrooper legs. I never liked the painted ones. Still, mixed bag or not, I'll look forward to these coming out! Quote
Sugarbushsquirrel Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 An AT-ST. Its time to call in for money! I might get 2 at-st's *vader* There the only good sets. The battle packs are good to!If only they had a stormtrooper battle pack.Even though i hav like 20 stormies i like them Quote
Unknown Artist Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Now, tell me that I am a particularly sceptical sound of the 80's, but the AT-ST is nowhere near the minifig scale. For example, the walker head's roof is 2 meters wide at the rear, 2 meters long and 1.25 meters wide at the front (I have the real life prop blueprints for RotJ, you see *sweet* ), meaning that in 1 meter = 3 studs scale (one of the most conveniet minifig scales), the roof should have been 6 studs wide at the rear, 6 studs long and approximately 3 studs wide at the front. Pretty small, eh? Definately MUCH smaller than the new official model. Nitpicking apart, I think that the new minifig is great and is well worth the 30$ and all those bley pieces. :-P Battle packs - you shouldn't be so hard on them - they're just an excuse to let us have minifigs in large quantities! ;) Will buy. A few. Y-Wing fighter - I'd say a good set, worth its price. Has certain negative sides, but still a definate buy. Grevious fighter. Does a prequel second - rate fighter deserve this much attention? Not so sure. There are quite a few nice sleek Dark Bley pieces over there - and the price is OK. Why not buy one? The landing craft - you should merely see it as a larger and more expensive minifig pack, which gives us somevery nice white parts, as hinckley wrote. So, my friends, I think that 2007 is not going to be a bad year. Not a bad year at all... X-D Quote
Vader Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Well what a difference in sets we have here, the AT-ST looks great even if it is a little small and i think everyone will be happy with the fig sets. However i must say im disapointed with GG's starfighter, it looks like its been thrown together. Now i know its not a major ship and its only seen briefly in the ROTS but i had hoped that lego would of given us something alittle better. The landing crafts ok but not high on my list of wants but hey it comes with lots of stormies so im sure it will sell well. Quote
dillthepill Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Those sets don't follow what I expected from Star Wars. *n* I'm dissapointed. >:-( Quote

mutley777 Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The sets and pictures are no longer on the site! I guess they got asked to remove them. Quote
WhiteHexagon Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The sets and pictures are no longer on the site! I guess they got asked to remove them. That's what I was just wondering, hope they don't get pulled from here too? Glad I got a peek at them anyway. Now I'm just wondering how to convince the gf that SW fits into our MOC village theme :) I NEEED these sets :) Peter Quote

Scouty Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I've just noted this, Loudspeaker blasters for the Battle Droids :-( . I Expected the actual guns. Also, though the guns look awsome, iwas hamping a little more accurate to the movie, the IMLC Sand trooper rifles look like snipers. Still i am very much liking this new line. Quote
john cleese Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Where you guys think the ILC is the worst set in the batch, i think its the best, nd because it has so many great parts i will definately be buying one. Ive never really been a fan of SW lego so i think this year, like most years, i will be saving up for non license themes. Quote
WhiteHexagon Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Is there a reason the think these will be available in Jan? Would it not make more sense for TLC to release these just before xmas? Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Is there a reason the think these will be available in Jan? Would it not make more sense for TLC to release these just before xmas? Well the official release date will be in January like always, but also following tradition, Lego will probably release them sometime in December ;-) Quote
Vader Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Yeah thats what usually happens, i love december as the hunt begins X-D *sweet* Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Yeah thats what usually happens, i love december as the hunt begins X-D *sweet* So true my Lord :-D Unfortunatly, we Europeans will get screwed like always :-| *yoda* Quote

xwingyoda Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hey, hey there Yoda!As I recall you was quit lucky last year with the A-wing or whatever set (s) it was ;-) Loool yeay Ras I know :-D ;-) But face it this way: out of the 9 MF SW sets, France had ONLY 2 before the US (Awing and ISD) and there is the Netherlands with the 6212 ;-) So for all the rest, Europeans were screwed !! Now I hope that '07 will be better in that respect ;-) *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Over here we actually tend to get the sets about a week before christmas which is great for us all, at least here anyway. :-) Quote
Ras 74 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I know that. Used that once and got the ARC 170 from your countryman mutley. Still greatful for that... ;-) Quote

androodeetoo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I wonder which Jedi Starfighter it is. I'm hoping for Ep2, as I like the Ep3 ones fine. I wonder too...I believe Obi-Wan used that neat-o jump ring in both ep2 (when he went after Jango) AND ep3 (when he goes after Grevious). Quote
mutley777 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 if i remember correctly there was a offical lego poll on another star wars lego site ;-) last year. the ep3 star fighter UCS won the poll Quote
