mutley777 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 here is a link to the discussion on EB UCS poll. the at-at is supposed to walk apparently! Quote
snefroe Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 honestly guys, we had this UCS poll before. remember a majority saying "we don't want any of these!"? besides, Lego knows damn well what UCS we'd like: a decent AT-AT, a MF,... Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Funny, I don't even remember this. Someone close it then (and sorry) :-$ Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Indeed mate !! And you can also add the fact that this moron Lucas added the holographic young Anie at the end of his crapped up version of ROTJ >:-( So when Luke saves his father, he actually saved young Anie :-| !! G what a moron !! I'm so happy to have the untouched versions :-D *yoda* Quote
captaintau Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Errrrr not really, he may have a new name and attitude but hes still anakin skywalker. I believe that he truely became vader after the emperor found and had him fixed up by droids, heck even then luke tries to remind him that hes still anakin. Errrr, yes really. New identity, new direction, new devotion. In E6, Obi Wan says most of Anakin has gone. He's more machine now than man. Besides, if your name's "Bob", you don't want to be called "John"! Quote

Mate youve just said it yourself obi wan says most of anakin has gone, but not all therefore hes still anakin, vader is just a name given to him as a badge of honor in the sith and or as a tool to strike fear into any opposition. If a man say called bill jenkins leads a normal life then one day goes out and kills someone then when captured says im not bill im john walker would that make him a different person? No it wouldnt and he would be arrested under his real name of bill jenkins. Thats the name he was given and its his identity, just because someone calls you a different name dosent mean you are a different person. Quote

To all intents and purposes, he's a different person and his new name reflects that. The films reflect that too. Quote
Vader Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Lucas said himself that the films represent the rise, fall and redemption of anakin, therefore even he means that vader and anakin are one and the same. Right lets try to get this topic back on track i think weve taken it too far off topic already. Quote
The Executive Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 A new Hoth play set would make my day and some new rebel troopers. My stormies are getting tired of fighting nothing *sing* Quote
Clone comander Nodra 999 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I have my storm troopers masacre the rest of my minifigures >:-) Quote
Scouty Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Indeed mate !!And you can also add the fact that this moron Lucas added the holographic young Anie at the end of his crapped up version of ROTJ >:-( So when Luke saves his father, he actually saved young Anie :-| !! G what a moron !! I'm so happy to have the untouched versions :-D *yoda* I think this was done on purpose. Because, when anikan fell to the Dark side he was no longer himself and that goodness is locked away. Until Luke saves him, Anikan, the good one, is free. So Anikan shows himself before he turned to the darkside, in the holographic ghostly force form. :-) Quote
Vader Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 So what your saying is that he reverts back to jedi anakin as opposed to sith anakin? Thats the way ive always seen it but i do agree with yoda that lucas should of left anakin old at the end instead of young. Saying that though the original anakin sure looked alot older than a man that would of been in his 40's, lucas really dropped the ball on that one. Quote

It was nice to see - to insert Hayden Christiansen in for supposed continuity- but Anakin should have been left old. Saying that though the original anakin sure looked alot older than a man that would of been in his 40's, lucas really dropped the ball on that one. He was 45, to be precise. I met Dave Prowse last year - he sure is sore that he didn't get to do the final (unmasked) scene . Hasn't spoken to George Lucas since. Quote
DoubleT Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Well i Understand it was a hard thing to swallow for Dave Prowse ..... but thats 25 years ago.... Living in anger.. brings one to the dark side *vader* X-D Quote

Hasn't spoken to George Lucas since. I was actually surprised that lucas didnt change the vader unmasked scene when he did the SE version of the films, i know he edited out things like vaders eyebrows but thought that he might put a man who looked closer to 45 as opposed to someone who looks 60. I dont blame Prowse for being angry, he did all the acting and yet isnt seen out of costume or heard once. *vader* Quote

I can understand why he isn't heard. On the one hand you've got the menacing tones of James Earl Jones. On the other hand, you've got a west country man: "Luke, follow me ta tha darrk soide.", "Luke, Oi am yourr faarther!" I wonder if Mr Prowse is more annoyed at not being told rather than not doing it. The first he heard was from a journalist. He didn't even know the twist in ESB Quote
Zane Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 So anyways, anyone got any hopes for the exclusives next year? I obviously want a Falcon and an AT-AT. Quote
Clone comander Nodra 999 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 what are those thingees on the feet? Quote
sam89 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Well on the actual AT-ST they're claws, but on this model they're the rims from Tiny Turbos racers sets ;-) Quote
Zane Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Looks alright. The legs are too short and square though. Something more like the CSW woulda been better. Quote
oo7 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 CSW.....CSW.......Hmmm This looks horrible! Although it's problably just the weird angle. Our first fuzzy preliminary pic looked much better. |-/ Quote

oo7 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Yes your problably right, I think the legs are good but from this angle the head looks terrible. And definatley, this one is way better than the original, and I am still problably going to buying it. That minifig is so cool it problably makes up for the ugly head. CSW......Classic Star Wars?
