xwingyoda Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 He he, so the last news posted on the September SWmania is finally getting somewhere hehe :-P Now we know that Lego sets "will be on shelves" 8- Quote
DoubleT Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Well it might be Hasbro sets.. no Lego's... Wait to be excited he he Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Well it might be Hasbro sets.. no Lego's... Wait to be excited he he Well, it says "Hasbro and LEGO", so from that I'd say both. However it could always be a spokesman who doesn't know what he's talking about and it's neither :-P Quote

However it could always be a spokesman who doesn't know what he's talking about and it's neither :-P That's a very distinct possibility :P It's also possible they could just be older sets but in some sort of newe "Original Trilogy" packaging like they had a couple years back...repackages of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Falcon, Mos Eisley set, Snowspeeder, B-wing, A-Wing etc. Quote
sam89 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 This definitely seems to confirm it. It specifically mentions that the sets will come out on the same day as LSWII (September 12th), ruling out the possibility of it meaning anything else. Quote

Personally I think they just mean the Sailbarge & ISD; which originally had been foreseen for the second halve of 2006; they've come earlier, but perhaps the poster of this newsitem wasn't aware of this... I'd love more sets, but I really doubt it... Quote

xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I sense some redesigns of the rest of the 2001/2002 set: * Escape pod * At-ST * Endor speeder bikes * Y-Wing * Twin Pod Cloud Car *yoda* Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 More speeder bikes? We already had a redesign of those. And I wouldn't like another Escape Pod, that was the most crappy SW set ever. The AT-ST needs to be redone though, and I wouldn't mind for another Y-wing (which is logical seeing as it is one of the last remaining ships that hasn't had a redesign) Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Kiku, I know that the speeder bikes already were redesigned, but: * it was 4 yrears ago * it was the old colours (and since 3 colours were replaced, Bluish Grey (light and dark) and Redish Brown) And a redesign of the escape pod would aggravate me if we only have another R2 and C3PO. *yoda* Quote
mutley777 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 seeing as these sets are being released with the orignal trilogy then we stand a good chance of some ESB sets, as over the last few years ANH and RotJ have had loads of sets made. in total we have only had 10 minifig scale ESB sets, pretty poor seeing as this is most fans favourite film. one word "HOTH" :-P Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 one word "HOTH" :-P One word: AMEN :-D ;-) *yoda* Quote
sam89 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Looking on Brickset, only counting System sets released at retail, we've had: ANH - 7 ESB - 9 ROTJ - 17 So we're a bit overdue on ANH and ESB sets :-P Quote
oo7 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 sorry about getting a little bit off topic, but this idea just poped into my head last night; A. there have been no ROTS technic sets B. the General Grievous Minifig sucks C. LEGO wants more SW sets D. General Grievous is really cool Thus LEGO should make an awesome technic General Grievous *sweet* Quote
mutley777 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 i never bothered with the technic sets. everything else but not technic. was the line a bit of a flop? Quote
Deinonychus Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I sense some redesigns of the rest of the 2001/2002 set:* Escape pod * At-ST * Endor speeder bikes * Y-Wing * Twin Pod Cloud Car *yoda* Nice ideas...my thoughts... * Escape pod - Wake me up if they do something interesting ;) * At-ST - Absolutley needs a redesign. * Endor speeder bikes - Meh * Y-Wing - The last of the Rebel fighters in need of a face lift...the newer curved bricks would make this ship super-slick nowadays. * Twin Pod Cloud Car - Orange please Quote
captaintau Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 The General Grievous Technic set idea has been brought up many times before, and I think most if not all SW LEGO fans reckons its a brilliant idea. Quote
sam89 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 My predictions are: - New Y-wing - New AT-ST - Perhaps new Hoth sets if the AT-ST is Endor based - Imperial Landing Craft Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I should have explained further my previous list ;-) I looked all the oldest SW sets, and until 2003/2004 those are the one that could need a face lift ;-) The rest (including Jabba's palace, Tie Bomber...) would make good ideas as from next year ;-) *yoda* Quote

sam89 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I reckon that if LEGO release anything Hoth related they'll chuck it all into one big set. That means we have to spend lots of money if we want a Wampa, Taun Taun, Echo Base, etc . . . Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 i can't see a redesign tie bomber as the other redesigned ties were not really worth the extra purchace. Blasphemy !! Heretic !! I expected nothing less from a rebel scum :-D :-P i would love a new jabba's palace with a Quote
dunamis Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 My fearless prediction (based on pure speculation): - Almost certian that we will get a redesigned Y-Wing with Rebel control station (like the new B-wing) $35-40 - Jabba's Palace $50-60 - New AT-ST system set $15-20 - We MAY get a Tantiv IV playset similiar to the new Star Destroyer $75-100 - We will get some kind of Mindstorm NXT set to help promote the NXT system the releases June 30. This will likely be something very familiar like R2D2. I highly doubt we will get any prequel trilogy sets because they do not tie into the LEGO Star Wars II game. Anyway, my .02. The sets this year have been excellent so I can't wait to see what they spring on us. Quote
sam89 Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 But, like I said above, imagine if they released one big set containing: * Probe Destruction: Chewie, Han + Probe Droid * Unfreezing Luke: Luke in water tank + medical droid * tau taun patrol: need I say more ?? * Wampa cave: cave, Luke & Wampa creature * Defense of Echo Base: rebels, snowies, Gun Turret and tranches !! Then we'd have to pay Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I agree Sam, but all oin one set would aggravate me for army building ;-) I don't need that many probe droids, chewies, Hans and Lukes :-P *yoda* Quote
