Hello all, and welcome to the epilogue of Interactive Apocalypse! :skull:

p6160060.jpg

If you are new to this exciting Interactive adventure, then you can easily find my previous parts in my profile :sweet:

Last time in the epic final decision in a massive battle with the evil Overlord Dragonator you decided to try to sabotage a nuclear device and make your escape, while a distraction was made:

p1270772.jpg

Your raid was successful, the device detonated before the nuclear process could be done, as Dragonator's men seized the battlefield. A heavy price came, as friends and allies were lost. You and Sondra, Ian Ded, Sparks and several Brotherhood members survived. Lord Dragonator perished in the explosion, though much of his legion remain intact.

In the time that followed, as you, Sondra and your friends fought to remember why losing so much was so necessary, you remember the recent events of your life.

From your original, lowtech base, living only as a shell, without hope:

p1200143.jpg

When you first met Exobuilder, departed friend who you can barely remember, and rebuilt:

p1200552.jpg

When you lost Exobuilder and new recruit techie Reginald Jameson to the hellfires of The Deadzone, and lost your leg in the process:

p1210221.jpg

When you were captured and first met the evil Lord Dragonator shortly after meeting Sondra:

p1210958.jpg

When you and Sondra were welcomed by Commander Xenu's crew to their sea fortress after escaping Lord Dragonator's clutches:

p1220513.jpg

When you first realised you had so much to lose, and fight for, when you faced his diabolical machinations:

p1230075.jpg

When you wept for two years in Dragonator's desert prison at the thought of all your friend's deaths:

p1240702.jpg

When your spirits were raised higher than ever before when Sondra came to your rescue:

p1250056.jpg

When you felt the awkwardness of such change to the people you once knew upon seeing them again at their new base:

p1250594.jpg

When that dreaded sense of the battle to come first shook you at the Great Gates leading to where Dragonator's army approached:

p1270245.jpg

And when all hell broke loose, and despite the fear and anger and hopelessness, you felt the determination to make something of the life that was once so absent from you.

p1270767.jpg

Now, a year onwards:

p1270991.jpg

Dragonator's armies are no more, though a new leader of tyranny has risen to guide his flock. Your old enemy's empire is weakened but still it grows, as does yours. Following the great battle, there was a great period of mourning. But now a newfound determination, that same determination from the battle, has risen. Your girlfriend Sondra still commands, as new bases are set up along strategic points, capable of radio signaling and flare use. As more survivors join each day, the bases become increasingly more well prepared and larger in number. Soon, the new dark empire will attack, and you'll be ready for them:

p1270995.jpg

For now, you and Sondra are on another inspection to a newly constructed and manned base, not far from the mountain ranges:

p1270998.jpg

An old friend, Ian Ded, is training the newer recruits here, though a woman is apparently sharing command, which suits him just fine:

p1270994.jpg

You arrive at the base, to find a couple of Swarm members. The mutant legions are also much diminished these days, but are also not vanquished:

p6160051.jpg

You go in, chatting with good friends, new friends, and preparing for the future. For who cannot look forward to the future? Certainly not you, certainly not after all you've come through. Though times are still hard you've found hope, and not even another Death Roller could stop that. This is only the beginning.

p6160058.jpg

Diagonal view. I decided that the series should end much in the way it begun, with a single base in the desert. Of course, the circumstances are much more positive, and I thought that my better building skills would be a nice contrast:

p1280001.jpg

Inside of the base. As you can see I added a load more elements than any other base I've done:

p1280006.jpg

Two barrels of fresh (as fresh as it gets) water on the left and the key to the cell hanging. The fire warms the outpost as well as making the prisoner sweat, while this character here gets some wood to keep cooking his meat leg:

p6160086.jpg

Crate of food on the left, and two bunks, one of which Ian Ded is lying on, next ot him a crate of weaponry:

p6160090.jpg

Above him lies their most powerful gun, a medical kit, and the access to one of the turrets:

p6160095.jpg

The toilet in the corner, which pumps to an outside point. Two crude rolls of paper on the left:

p6160092.jpg

The toilet waste outside, I'll leave you to decide what the yellow lumps are:

p6160063.jpg

Underneath the stairs, a motorbike, and the final bunk, which is used semi-regularly because of the shift watches:

p6160095.jpg

The water well, which using a basic system pumps small amounts of underground water into the bucket. Map of nearby locations on the left:

p6160094.jpg

The new recruits, one of which is a cyborg:

p6160056.jpg

Final outpost shot:

p1280002.jpg

Well done, despite trouble on the horizon the future is not as bleak as it once was. You have survived.

p1200581.jpg

Comments appreciated, and a huge thanks to everyone who followed and commented on IA after all this time. You guys are the best and I had a great time making it all, I hope you had a fun time playing :classic:

Special thanks to Hinckley for letting the ball start rolling, even if I still don't have the minifig parts to make his sigfig, iamded and Dragonator for taking star roles and commenting always, and anyone else that starred in the story, or took the time to comment when a new part came out :cry_happy:

Thanks everybody, goodnight.

Interactive Apocalypse Away!

Now thats the longest its taken me to catch my breath. :cry_sad:

Weeping aside, hooray! We made it! And congrats on finishing the series, 'twas one hell of an Apoc themed Roller Coaster ride!

Now, i'd like to see the Super Villains.

It's finally over?! wow! excelent job batbrick! I can't wait to see some super villiany!

Nooooooooooooooo!

Why did it have to end? It was such a good moc line! :cry_sad:

*Breaksout in song*

How can this happen to me? I made my mistakes! And the night goes on and on..........

========

Anyways, I loved this seriese. It was so awsome!:thumbup:

Aww, what a heartwarming ending! Though the world is not perfect, and will probably never return to the state it once was, it's still nice to see that humanity can survive there. Here's hoping that the people in that fortress would one day find a place where they can actually concentrate on living rather than just surviving.

Thanks for bringing this amazing story to us, Batty! It was nice to see the MOCs from the beginning, they really show what a talented builder you are, and the progress you've made since the beginning. I was wowed by the earliest fort already, so you can imagine my reaction to the doomsday machines you rolled in at the end.

Now go and put those skills of yours to a good use with the next interactive story!

Great ending chapter, Batbrick!

I really like those recap shots and captions; very effective and still they don't take the attention from the current story.

Indeed your building skills and attention to details (which already weren't bad at all at the beginning) have improved, and now your creations can stand any inspection and pass it

As we had occasion to discuss before, while it's always sad to end a project like this, which took so much of your, and our as readers/protagonists, time; nonetheless, putting a full stop at some point can be the best way to take a look at what has been done, and then start programming something else based on the experience you gained form this.

I'm sure your future projects will be advantaged by this experience and I can't wait to see what's next :sweet:

P.S.: I voted for 'I demandmore Block Block! We need more Crossdressing Lightning Babe!', dear old Block Block Eulogizer. Really couldn't resist!

LuxorV

Lord Dragonator perished in the explosion...

Oh drat. :hmpf_bad: And I had such wonderful plans for the world too. :cry_sad: Ah well, it's your loss in the end. *snivel*

Besides, just because I perished doesn't mean you're trough with me yet. I will outlast time itself! :sing:

ON a side note, does anyone know what happened to my cunning and adoring wife? I'm sure she must have either died with me or committed suicide upon hearing of my death, unable to go on living without me. I guess we'll never know...

...though a new leader of tyranny has risen to guide his flock.

He (or she) had better do a damn fine job, or I'll come back to haunt him, you believe me.

Well, what can I say other than great job mate for finishing up such a brilliant project. It's a pity that wonderful, smart, handsome, overly verbose and slightly crazy evil homicidal maniac died, but hey, not everyone can have a happy ending I guess.

Nice outpost to finish things up with, a great contrast to your first one I must say! The flashback pictures were a nice touch, showing your progress as a builder over the series as a whole, as well as showcasing all the great moments and characters we have come to know and love. It is sad to see it coming to an end, but definitely I better to have a good ending than have it drag on and on. I look forward to your next project, and the return of an incredibly clever evil villain and whatever new characters it will bring.

I don't really have much more to say, I'm feeling so emotional right now. :cry_happy:

finally done ^^ great great job , finally it's a kind of.. "happy end", thanks for this, I really enjoyed IA !

WOW, just wow :cry_happy:

You've certainly come along way, with your building skills and your story telling! It's been a real highlight of EB  It's also been very enjoyable to watch all these months which is almost 2 years.

Keep up the great work for your next project!

EDIT: I demand more Block Block

Edited by hollisbrick

Batbrick, you have certainly comes a long way, and viewing back those chapter key sceneries sure reminds me of those great stories which you have us involved in various decisions, leading to one another. This is a great concluding chapter, where there is a happy ending to be told. I enjoyed myself very much, like what you have been doing for these many months, following the plot closely. Well done, my friend, and I can't wait for more of such actions.

What an epic story this became, with so many fascinating characters and incredible impressive dioramas and so many very original scenarios!

This last outpost´s wonderfully detailed and very charming (as charming as an isolated refuge in a pretty desperate wilderness can be) and

a more than worthy ending to your fantastic post apocalyptic mutant-heavy fairy tale.

Hmm... Wayne Manor... sounds very promising I would say! :classic:

So... This is how it all ends, hmm? Nice, albeit, bittersweet ending. It doesn't end all TOO happily ever after, and I like that. The new base is small, though, it is very nice and the attention to detail is great. Congrats boys, we made it. I feel pretty good inside. Now, bring on the new Story Arc! I voted Bring on Interactive Supervillain! I want to rule the World! And... I really do.

CT

PS: And well done for all the amazing scenery over the months.

Edited by Cyclone Titan

Wow, very nice base there! While not your biggest, you certainly have crammed a lot of cool stuff in there!

I was expecting everyone to die, but instead I got a happy ending! Cool. I know you want to do "Interactive Supervillian", but maybe when you're done with that you could re-visit the IA series?

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Thanks Sandy, I always appreciate what oyu have to say. I was careful to make this ending a happy one, but still fraught with dangers. The suicide mission would've ensured a peaceful world at the cost of the characters' lives.

I'm glad I continued this far till the end, I made a nice sweeping saga that I'm happy with, one that really improved my skills as a builder, so I'll be sure to put that to good use.

Great ending chapter, Batbrick!

Thanks LuxorV mate, really appreciated. I totally agree with your statement, I wanted to end the story. Doesn't mean I won't revisit the same universe, but not at this specific point in time, nor spotlighting these characters.

And I'll be sure to highlight the Crossdressing Lightning Babe eventually!

ON a side note, does anyone know what happened to my cunning and adoring wife? I'm sure she must have either died with me or committed suicide upon hearing of my death, unable to go on living without me. I guess we'll never know...

Thanks a lot mate. And don't worry, maybe the great, great, great etc ancestor of Lord Dragonatpr might feature as a villain in Interactive Supervillain?

WOW, just wow :cry_happy:

I was expecting everyone to die, but instead I got a happy ending! Cool. I know you want to do "Interactive Supervillian", but maybe when you're done with that you could re-visit the IA series?

Thanks Mr Mandalorian. I don't think I will revisit IA though. I might revisit the timeline, like 50 or more years past or present from the story, but I think the story has been told. That won't stop me from making the occasional post-apocalyptic creation though!

To the Batbrickmobile!

:cry_happy::cry_sad::cry_happy::cry_sad::cry_happy: Interactive Apocalypse has come to an end after all this time. This is great as it opens up a space that you can fill with many new MOCs, or a new series. However, it's still the end of Interactive Apocalypse, which I know I will miss.

It's been just over one and a half years since you first introduced the great adventure that would have us eagerly following it, marvelling at your awesome creations and noting your ever increasing skill as a builder. It's been an interesting journey, with losses and gains, epic battles and solitary imprisonments. You've created a great Universe here, and I hope we'll still see future MOCs reflecting this world you've made.

As for the new base (Which I've gathered is one of many outposts, yes?), well, you've done a great job mate. I particularly love the door, absolutely coated in spikes. Brutal. It's packed with details, and contains all the necessities of survival. Another fantastic addition, and a fitting end, reflecting both our humble beginnings in our little base, but much sturdier, well equipped, and generally better off, reflecting the knowledge and skills we've gained through our ordeal. I'm sad to see so much of our team go, but at least I SURVIVED! Meee! Er, I mean, Ian Ded!! Woo! But really, our dead will be mourned. :sadnew:

Ah, so where do I go from here? The story has come to a great end in my opinion. As previously mentioned - a happy ending, but not perfect - and let's admit, perfect isn't that great anyway. A new beginning has spawned from an explosive end, and I'm glad it's gone this way. I can't help but imagine the many different paths this story could have taken, but I feel we chose the best ending.

I chose the obvious answer and selected, "Now bring on Interactive Supervillain! I want to rule the world!"

Ian Ded will conquer all! Can't wait for this to some around, a new series to keep us in eager anticipation. Keep up the great work buddy!

~Peace

Bravo, Batbrick. That was truly amazing. I never expected it to turn out this well or this awesome. Again, thank you!

jifel

Oh, my frind my friend, what is there to say?

First off, congrats. A huge congrats. You did a fantastic job, and over a two year span stuck with something incredible! You did awesomely, and most importantly YOU FINISHED STRONG! So awesome job on that alone.

Secondly, I was a late joiner to your fanbase becuase I was a late joiner to EB. But I followed and enjoyed the story personally, so thank you so much for that! I'm glad that it's over to a certain extent, just becuase I love endings of stories.

Now on to the nding. Other than the fact that we were cheated out of an epic fight (I wanted to see action!!!!) it was great. Bittersweet, but good. I didn't like the woman with Ian Ded, seemed random, but it was nice to have a real ending. i wish you had at least mentioned each character who had been amajor part, but it's okay. You had a lot to work with, and you did very well. And the base was awesome.

I loved the cycle of the story, it started and ended in a simple base. Fantastic idea with that.

I'm a fan Batbrick! Can't wait for your next project! Get to work!

Hmmm, perhaps your wife is the new leader of your forces?

I was thinking that, but didn't want to say in case it might ruin the surprise...

A nice ending and retrospective of IA. However, where are all the shots of the battle, and the aftermath? After your incredibly well documented previous chapters, this particular part seems a bit sparse.

It's nice that IA wraped up on a postive, but not happy note, and good job reviewing the progression of the story. Your final base looks good, and the interior detail is very well done.

I voted for "Interactive super Villan" IA had a good run, but it's time for something new.

Many Thanks for Interactive Apocalypse Batbrick

Many humble apologies that I have never commented on this series. Rest assured that it is not becasue I don't like it.

This series is really the most significant factor that drew me into Eurobricks and MOCing - I have followed it from the beginning way before I joined.

I thinks both the MOCs and the story have been wonderful (I don't think I have seen any post-apoc moc that I like more, or even as much) and it is sad to see it come to an end.

While I am sad to see this go hopefully it will mean you now have time for your Gotham to flourish. In which case I'm happy.

And the supervillan idea is great...

Thanks good friend, thanks for stopping by!

Yes, this is one of many outposts, though I imagine the main base to be bigger. The door is also a favourite feature of mine, I'll definitely be using that criss-crossing technique in the future, I had never thought of it before!

And I couldn't kill you off could I? Your character was too cool!

First off, congrats. A huge congrats. You did a fantastic job, and over a two year span stuck with something incredible! You did awesomely, and most importantly YOU FINISHED STRONG! So awesome job on that alone.

Thanks mate, I'm glad I managed to finish one a good note. I am also really happy that late joiners like yourself could still catch up, I really appreciate the time you've spent reading a commenting.

Sorry mate, though I regret not showing pics, IA never really showed what happened between chapters, only told. But don't worry, Interactive Supervillain will improve on that!

Many Thanks for Interactive Apocalypse Batbrick

Wow! Thanks a heap Righteous Squid, I had no idea you had noticed this series before, I'm glad to have contributed to you joining, you're a great person!

And don't worry, Gotham will definitely be expanding soon!

Thanks again everybody, it's an end of an era. A mighty small and rather inconsequential era, but an era nonetheless

Goodnight!
