The Penguin Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) Gentlemen! It gives me great pleasure to present you my latest SW MOC: Confederate MTT! ) How could such a great CIS fan as me, not make one? ) First of all I must say, that I made it as I see it: that is I did not base it on the one shown in CW cartoon. I never liked their variant, with those ghastly-looking pale blue markings..... I think it looks "sick". ) I tried to make my version to have a mighty look, to give you a certain impression, that's it's a vehicle to be taken into account on the battlefield. ) General look: Side view: CIS insignia: Rear door: Escape hatch: Front round door and cannons: Side door with CIS markings: Ready to be loaded: Wat Tambor: General Pingvin, I present you our laterst modification of the MTT..... General Pingvin: Thank you, I might need one soon. ) Bonus: Remember those awesome droid gunners from CW cartoon? ) So, I decided to include my version of them in this topic. How can an MTT come without an AAT at its side? ) The crew of two gunner droids: Thank you for your attention! ) Comments are very welcome, gentlemen! ) Edited June 24, 2009 by KimT Quote
SWMAN Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I really love all of it, but especially your custom CIS leader. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 The mini figs (not the droids) are those custom bodies? Quote
KimT Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Really nice way to incorporate the CIS colour-scheme in the MTT. Good job Quote
ILikePi Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Wow, that's a really nice MTT, The Penguin! Those droid gunners also look awesome. What did you use to make them? Sharpies? Quote
simonjedi Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 When I clicked this thread, I was expecting a late entry to the star wars invasion competition. MTT looks good in grey and your Wat Tambor looks really awesome. Quote
Commander Flash Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Very nice. Good recoloring and nice colored droid Quote
-JD- Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) That is great! The chosen colour scheme looks good, and those gunners are fabulous! I'll make my own, and fail miserably. My fingers are too big to hold small brushes! Someone here ought to try and make a tan AAT using the CW design. Greetings, JD Edited June 23, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Very nice re colour Penguin. TBH I prefer this new look opposed to the brown one. I think you did really well on your gunner droids too . Quote

Future74 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I think you did a great job choosing these colors instead of the CW cartoon version, the result is astonishing Well done on the custom minifigure Wat Tambor, I guess now TLC will have to take notice that they missed out on this. But then again, we can still look forward to one in the future... Just a question; what sets did you sacrifice to build this beauty? Quote
ADHO15 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Wonderful work again, Penguin! I can't find a single fault with anything. The MTT looks great and well-proportioned between the colours, and those BDs look magnificent! Very well done! Quote
Matteo Kenobi Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Wow Penguin! What a creation! That's awesome, excellent work, really makes me want to make one, so you have succeeded Excellent work, once again. Quote

The Penguin Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 I really love all of it, but especially your custom CIS leader. Thanks a lot, SWMAN! ) Though I must say that my General Pingvin is not new to this forum. He has been a character in my SW comic story: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...t=0&start=0 The mini figs (not the droids) are those custom bodies? No, not quite. ) General Pingvin is 100% purist LEGO. And Wat Tambor has a custom head, mask and markings non LEGO body. ) Really nice way to incorporate the CIS colour-scheme in the MTT.Good job Thank you very much, KimT! ) I'm pleased that you've found it nice-looking. ) Someone had to do it earlier or later! ) Wow, that's a really nice MTT, The Penguin! Those droid gunners also look awesome. Sharpies? ) When I clicked this thread, I was expecting a late entry to the star wars invasion competition.MTT looks good in grey and your Wat Tambor looks really awesome. Thanks a lot. ) I also think that it looks much better in grey-blue color scheme. ) Very nice. Good recoloring and nice colored droid Thank you very much. ) That is great! Someone here ought to try and make a tan AAT using the CW design. Greetings, JD Oh, you are too kind! ) Well, I've been painting Warhammer minifigures for quite a long time, so it's much easier for me, I guess. ) A lovely idea, I must say. Hm-m-m-m-m-m.... ) Very nice re colour Penguin. TBH I prefer this new look opposed to the brown one. I think you did really well on your gunner droids too . Thank you very much, Skipper 24. ) Though some hate the new CW series, I find it really good, and it's also a great source of inpiration. ) wow great use of the CIS colours!Your Wat Tambor minifig is awesome! the MTT looks really good the colours make the MTT so awesome! But then again, we can still look forward to one in the future... Just a question; what sets did you sacrifice to build this beauty? Oh, thank you very much, Future74! ) I still hope that TLC will release more confederate leaders in future. ) No sets in paticular. A penguin is a wise bird: has something in each of multiple nests. So I gathered the required parts and made it. Note, that I changed some details according to my taste. ) Wonderful work again, Penguin! I can't find a single fault with anything. The MTT looks great and well-proportioned between the colours, and those BDs look magnificent! Very well done! Thank you very much, friend! ) Your opinion always means much to me! I really don't know what else to say: pure positive emotions. ) You're very welcome. I meant every word! I beg you pardon? The Penguin Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 WELL DONE!! penguin this is a very very nice addition to the sep army it goes very well with the new AAT the custom Wat Tambor is very well done!!! Great job CommanderFox Thank you very much, Commander Fox! ) Yes, it indeed looks very nice near an AAT, but a bit small still. Oh, well. ) Thanks, I also like my Tambor minifigure, though it was not very popular, when I first posted it. ) I still have plenty of ideas for MOCs, so I guess I may be adding a new CIS VIP in each entry. ) You're very welcome. I meant every word! Pleased to hear. ) Sharpies are just a brand of marker pens that come in a range of colours. I notice they don't have them in Russia. Indeed, they are not sold in Russia. ) No, of course, I didn't use any pen or things like that. I used special minifigure paint (I used to paint and play Warhammer a lot ), that can be found in any Games Workshop store. ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Teddy Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi Pinguin, nice color scheme. It looks quite a lot like the brown 7662 Link to brickset 7662. Actually its almost a copy in terms of brick location and details. So is it more like a MOD of that set? I.e. change the color scheme? Or did you do something fundamentally different? I like it nonetheless. Kind regards, Teddy Quote

I changed the colors, some minor details, decorations and patterns. ) Plus, I modifyed the front and back doors, made it a bit higher and a stud longer. For some reason, I didn't take pictures of the inside compartments, but there I made a cargo space where a speeder was supposed to be. ) Thank you, once again. ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Edited June 22, 2009 by The Penguin Quote

General Magma Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) What? THIS IS AMAZING!!!!! It looks so cool and all, guess you have to be the first one to make an MTT in the CIS style. Edited June 22, 2009 by General Magma Quote
the horrorist Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Very nice re-creation of a fantastic vehicle. I love the new frontdoor, with the smaller dish on it. Very subtle. Quote
