what is your favorite space theme?

NAme your favorite all time space theme, like Marsmission space police 1, 2, or 3 blacktron classic space any one. I will put most of the minithemes on the poll my favorite themes are marsmission and spacepolice 3

Ice Planet 2002, closely followed by Life on Mars, Space Police 3, and M-Tron.

To me they are all good. I voted UFO, since I love making mocs with them.

I voted for Life On Mars. The aliens are very versatile, and this theme introduced the pump system that I love, plus several other new pieces. Space Police III was a close second for me.

I voted Classic Space, although Futuron came in a very close second. Classic Space spanned several years and gave us lots of large spaceships and bases, where most of the other themes only lasted one year, limiting the size of your fleet. Don't get me wrong, though- I pretty much enjoy and collect ALL Lego space!

I missed a lot of thoose space themes as they were released during my dark age. But my favourite amongst the themes I have had Blacktron I is definitely my all time favourite. I just love the colorscheme of black with a touch of yellow and trans-red and trans-yellow windows/canopies. And the black minifigs are just supercool.

Second and third places goes to Classic Space and Futuron.

The original, Classic Space. Without it the others would never have existed... maybe. It's the theme I grew up with and there were jus tso many sets for so many years unlike many modern themes that last a year or two. I even had a collector attitude as a child. If I had grown up with them, Blacktron (the original) and Space Police 1 would ahve been contenders for my favourite space theme.

It's hard to make a choice.

While I was too young for classic space and a lot of the others, my first space set being an Exploriens one. I also had UFO and Insectoids. However, I never had much of each of those themes so I can't pick a favourite.

I did like the Insectoids minifigs the best though.

Either M-Tron or Spyrius, I was growing up at the time those were alive.

And their color schemes were similar so I'd often have them allied in old mocs.

Tough to vote for just one, but I went with Blacktron. It had a great look, modularity, lots of great features. One of my favorite sets is a Futuron, but for overall appeal, I had to go with Blacktron.

I think there is a difference between the "best theme" and the theme having the best sets. For best theme, my vote goes to SP1 since I love their color scheme and their Space Lockup jail cells, but only their small/medium sets were well designed. For best sets, I would say M:Tron or SP2, for which all of the sets were pretty uniformly good.

I like space police 3 pretty much just for the awsome aliens. I was never realy into the classic and old space themes, and never bought any of them. When I look at them I just see a plain out-of-date space set Sorry if that offended any of the classic space lovers

From most people's replies, it seems that our favourite themes are the first that we bought when young or when getting into LEGO so it mostly depends on when you were born and when you got your first LEGO space sets!

Exploriens and UFO is what I spent the most money on, as I was earning money from a paper round by that time but if I have to choose a favourite then it would be M-Tron - because of the Mega Core Magetizer, the cool little container boxes and magnets

You should be able to buy the sets and random lots quite cheaply then!

I loved Exploriens.

They introduced that new helm. They also had that clean white and blue with touches of trans lime greens and black. They also had FRIGGIN AWESOME LAZORZ!

I loved Ice Planet, too.

As much as I love Futuron minifigs, I still think that Classic space was the best.
