Hooray, the team is complete!

In order to get the new parts done, could the set creators (such as Bfa with his eye-scope-thing) send descriptions/drawings of the new parts to one of the more arty members so that we can get a final picture of their forms?

As a suggestion, in order to get the colour distribution of the six sets correct (we still need a black set), either Gelu should be revamped with grey/dark-grey armour to serve as the black set, or the Ignika could be false-alarm triggered by the GS, causing it and Mata Nui to turn Gunmetal, dark grey or black. I'm keen to design the latter, if people agree with the idea. :classic:

Oh BTW I meant to point out the Vostra was meant to be the Vulcanus trainee's name and I hadn't worked on the Tesara Glatorian's name yet must've not said it clearly enough but ah well no harm done.

@ 3DB: Definitely up for the latter. I'm going to try my hand, using the silver Ignika as a placeholder. >.>

Damnit, competition. I'll be using the Silver Ignika too, 'cause I don't have the new one yet. However, my idea for the 2010 one is kind of like the Mistika can version. Due to the imbalance of the GS, the Ignika goes into life-drain mode, but it doesn't work properly because it isn't in the actual MU. The result is that Mata Nui has a life-draining touch, which he may or may not have to use in order to stay alive himself.

To avoid being useless, I built something that you can storyline and doesn't afraid of anything. Click here: http://img22.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=image0131q.jpg

Cool, I like it. :classic: We need as many as possible of these kind of MOCs to fill up the new universe that we're creating. Do you want to give your creature a name and mini-bio though (unique/generic, carnivore/herbivore, any special traits, etc)?

EDIT: I've finished my Dark Mata Nui:

matanuidscf0225.jpg

The Mahri blades, Bohrok teeth, leg and arm chest armour, hands and ankle cuffs (that I don't have) will be recoloured gunmetal. The thigh joints will be black, and the head will be a Glatorian head in trans-red.

The arm joints are the new sideways ones from Thornatus, but I don't have Thornatus, so I can't show that...

The two new pieces are a cracked/spiky/deteriorating blade (which is the movie sword breaking down) in place of the Jaller sword, and a new Gunmetal Ignika that's the same shape as the 09 Ignika, only the left side is cracked and has some holes exposing the Glatorian head underneath.

I'm also making a mini comic about him when the team encounters a parasite welding experiment, and Mata Nui discovers his own life-draining powers.

Looks a bit bigheaded in the first picture. [Well, it's going to change because of the Glatorian head, so no harm there]

The Piraka armor on the upper arms limits articulation. D: [We'll make something in the art to change that of course... >.>]

Other than that, nice. I like the Mahri blades in the back.

Currently the arms bend to a 90* angle, but I think when the armour is sideways it should bend all the way to about 45*, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have the sideways joint.

I am not exactly sure what this whole thing is.

From the top of the first post:

Because this discussion was clogging up "2009 Images and Discussion", and because it was becoming too interesting to ignore, I am starting a Topic for the express purpose of making up our own story, sets, plot, and what have you for 2010.

It's pretty much our version of what we think the 2010 story, characters, and sets should be.

I wish to contribute, but I don't really understand what I should do (who, what, where...). Could somebody please fill me in?

Currently we're polishing off the main team of good guys, but unless you want to trawl through the 25 pages of this topic, it would be easier for you to make creatures, good and bad for the new universe. We'll never have enough of those. :classic:

Once we've finished the team we should make a summary of what we have so far, to organise/formalise our thoughts and to allow newer people to contribute fully.

Here's that possible refugee I told you about.

Photo353.jpg

And that Scorponok I told you about, with the chains it "fires".

And some drone thing that could hunt in packs.

The refugee looks super awesome, except for the hand on the chest and the Nuva armour on the foot. I see what you're trying to do with them and have done well hive the other parts, but I don't like those two parts as much. You could scatter the "good" armour all around as well, because only one-off extreme circumstances would cause you too loose all your armour on only one side.

Is that Scorponok the same that was in your Blawg? If so, I still like it, if not, I like it anyway. The chain things are an awesome idea, despite them not working. Out of interest to make them work though, have you tried connecting the ball joints to flick-fire missiles and then through the chain. It may or may not make an awesome chain-ball-projectile.

I love the drone wolf thing, only the back feet should be 08 av-claws instead, and the tail should be less organic and spiky to match the rest of the MOC. Aside from that, I can imagine a whole pack of these lurking in the background, stalking an Agori or two.

All in all, I'm loving those MOCs Bfa, well-done! :classic:

You can't really see it, but there's a dark blue hand piece opposite it. I couldn't find my other one, so I decided to make him/her one-side-armored.

Almost the same. The arm connection is different, the legs are more solidly connected, and the tail has been changed to include the "spear shooter".

I'll see what I can do.

*AWESOME*

I love this guy. Especially cape and armor.

*AWESOME*

Where do the chains fire from?

And some drone thing that could hunt in packs.

*AWESOME*

I love this. The actual creation could use some work but the concept is sweeeet. Maybe one of the titans could have one of these?

I'll try to get on that :)

What if when the failsafe activated, Mata Nui's body, armor, and weaponry (Cliiiick ;-;) disintegrated? That would be a good sign that the mask is up to no good. And maybe it could have a predetermined body for if the death clock didn't work? Such as a "death mode" which would allow it to figure out why it isn't working? And maybe because of the amount of distress the mask is in, it could push Mata Nui back in certain situations?

Currently the arms bend to a 90* angle, but I think when the armour is sideways it should bend all the way to about 45*, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have the sideways joint.

Why not attach it to the back then? lol seems like the simple solution

And sorry for quoting oldish posts lol

The claws. They don't actually fire, it's just something in the story.

I liked the idea of making them flick-fire. Do you have any flickfire missles?

Yeah, but I can't think of a place to put them. Plus, they wouldn't go far and I'd have to flick both at once.

Here's what we do:

Imagine a launcher that launches balls with chains.

Draw it out

Use it.

Done. :D

But I love the MOCs. They're all pretty nifty

The Drone could use claws on all feet.

Scorponox could use better legs.

I like the spikes on the back of the refugee. I hate the Piraka Arm and the Nuva Armor on his foot though.

Uh... I don't think we're understanding each other.

I was thinking like this: the chain pops onto the end of the flickfire piece (where there's usually the missle head). Then the cannon ball/Mata chest thing pops onto the chain's stud (the one connected to the flickfire). The other end of the chain just trails.

Gosh darn it, now I want a flickfire piece to try it out. ;_;
