Bfahome Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Uh... I don't think we're understanding each other.I was thinking like this: the chain pops onto the end of the flickfire piece (where there's usually the missle head). Then the cannon ball/Mata chest thing pops onto the chain's stud (the one connected to the flickfire). The other end of the chain just trails. Gosh darn it, now I want a flickfire piece to try it out. ;_; ~Bunda Oh. Yeah, that wouldn't work at all. The flick-fire pieces aren't powerful enough. Quote
The Alchemyst Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Hm. Well If you actually flick them, they go pretty darn far. I have couple from Turbocar chase [] so I'll try it out right now. EDIT: Aaand after attaching the old Ball Joint to a system chain to a flickfire missile... It works. Kinda. From like 2 feet off the ground it goes around 3 feet. Oh and it's hard to store the long length of chain... lemme try adding both chain end to it. Impractical, but just to try. [-TA-] Edited July 28, 2009 by The Alchemyst Quote

[-TA-] The issue is the load they'd be forced to take. Usually they're just propelling a cone piece, but for this they'd have to propel a ball joint, chain, then a second ball joint that it needs to propel from a dead stop. Just tested it. It sort of works, but it definitely doesn't go as far as a normal flick missile. It does have a nice spin to it, though. But I still don't know where it would fire from. :/ Edited July 28, 2009 by Bfahome Quote

Lemme test 'em out with cones, ball joints and chains. Hopefully we'll get one that works well. Mmm... The two ball joints on each end of the chain seems to work best. A stud and a cone on the firing end with the ball on the other works okay too. If you want to lose the cool dangling chain factor and go for distance, having both ends of the chain on the missile and then a ball join goes pretty far. It's too bad Greg said the failed GS didn't have anything in it. That makes all of this stuff completely impossible. =/ ~Bunda Quote

I mean you wouldn't be sniping people with them. Quote

I mean you wouldn't be sniping people with them. I was kinda hoping he would be. :/ Just have a couple of characters trying to find out where they are then all of a sudden WHAM one of them gets hit with and bound in chains. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 One could try two chains connected. On end should be attached to blaster, the other to the flick-fire missile. The flick-fire end could have any sort of thing- from mata ball to hook, to barakki eye. The idea would be that instead of a chain that whizzes out and binds the opponent, it's more of a grapple to wrap once around opponent and then the opponent is left to the will of the user. Quote
Brickthing Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 What if when the failsafe activated, Mata Nui's body, armor, and weaponry (Cliiiick ;-;) disintegrated? That would be a good sign that the mask is up to no good. And maybe it could have a predetermined body for if the death clock didn't work? Such as a "death mode" which would allow it to figure out why it isn't working? And maybe because of the amount of distress the mask is in, it could push Mata Nui back in certain situations? Why not attach it to the back then? lol seems like the simple solution My idea was that Mata Nui left Click behind ('cause he's cool and cute, so he needs a happy ending), in favour of a Thornax launcher and sword for while searching. Then once the team falls in, Mata Nui's Ignika countdown is accidentally activated by the MU-like GS, and the team notices that it has gone silver. Later, it turned gun-metal and begins it's life sucking job. However, because Mata Nui's spirit is still inside the Ignika, and Mata Nui is technically the Ignika's boss anyway, Mata Nui with difficulty is able to contain the mass-effect of the life-drain to just himself (and anyone he touches), but it takes it's toll on his body, pretty much killing it and making it look all evil death and zombie-like. The sideways way gives enough articulation as far as I can tell, and it looks better that armour on behind. Gosh darn it, now I want a flickfire piece to try it out. ;_;~Bunda Poor Bunda, he has no SYSTEM sets. @ Vertea - The chains would work the same way they do with cattle and stuff, they hit the legs, then the weights on either end wrap around and pull the person over. They could also be electrified or very hot though. Quote
Bfahome Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 @ Vertea - The chains would work the same way they do with cattle and stuff, they hit the legs … and body, and arms, and neck… THE SLAGAR WILL WIN! Quote
Brickthing Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 … and body, and arms, and neck…THE SLAGAR WILL WIN! How many chain launchers do you want to put on that scorpion thing?!? Quote
Bfahome Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 How many chain launchers do you want to put on that scorpion thing?!? Only two in the story, one in each claw. But they can fire more than one each. Quote
The Alchemyst Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Man, this has diiiied. I have an idea, but I'll need some sort of small personality and background of each character, so if everyone could hand in one [and a name if there isn't], that'd be great. [-TA-] Quote
Brickthing Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 It hasn't died, most of us are just busy. I'm working on an artwork of my Mata Nui MOC. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Anyone want me draw up something? I feel I need to add some more contributions to the collab. I'll do a hero, villain, titan, whatever. Any requests? Quote

---Vertea--- Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 i will do Mata Nui riding KMOO I dunno.... Kmoos should stay in my story-verse... but just this once, I think I'll allow it- just don't get too many ideas, kay? That's gonna be awesome, Antrozek. Quote
Ecto Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Sorry for my absence... sadly I'll be gone all this next week as well Anyway, I have the Green/Purple accent villain designed, just have to draw him up and I'll get him on here! Quote
Nuju Metru Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Woah. You guys, this is SICK. :D I love all these ideas... Anything I can design, maybe? -Nuju Metru Quote

Brickthing Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 read all the topic first Good luck with that. But seriously, it would be great to have another creative contributing member on board, especially an artistic one. Quote

I skimmed over the whole thing... Don't think I feel like reading the whole topic. :P Hey, would anyone mind giving me a basic overview of characters/plot, though? I mean, it's kinda hard to follow the current status of these ideas, considering they keep changing. Also, I want to maybe draw one of these characters, and don't really know all of them. -Nuju Metru Quote
The Alchemyst Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Check the first post in the vote topic NM, it should have most of the facts we laid out. Super short version: 7 Glatorian 5 Agori go to GS body to get Mata Nui home. :P [-TA-] Quote

What about the "canister villains?" I'd love to try drawing one of them, whatever they are. -Nuju Metru Quote
The Alchemyst Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Yea, this topic Feel free to draw some canister villains, one for each place, and 6 of them, just like normal canisters. We still need a Mata Nui and Gelu, and right now i think 3DB was the only one who submitted a Mata Nui. We'll vote for those as soon as everyone who wants to gets their drawing/MOC of Mata Nui and/or Gelu in. Hm, guys, I don't think we ever decided on what elements each canister villain [and area] would be, right? [-TA-] Quote
