Your saying that Aslan dying to free Peter of his sins is nothing to do with Christianity?

No. The Chronicles of Narnia is an allegory on the life and death of Jesus - I agree.

With one major difference: Aslan did not sacrifice his life for one second because he Knew that he would come back to life, since he was not the proper person to be sacrificed !!! So it was an act of superior intelligence, rather than an act of pure sarifice ;)

But I digress....

Oh boy I loved this movie !!!!! The little girl was sooooo cute and they all acted pretty well for kids.

The beasts are so well done, I love the white witch, the score goes perfectly with the action !!!!! Ahhh precious n

if i'm not mistaken, jesus did that as well.... he also knew he wouldn't die by the hands of the romans; he would come back as well...

But he willingly gave his life !! I don't know what he knew, but he did die by the spear of a Roman.

On the other hand, Aslan gave nothing ;) He accepted to die knowing he would come back as the same Aslan (flesh & blood), and not as a symbol or what have you !!!

I just saw this movie today with a friend and my littlebrother.

the movie was just fantastic, but not as good as king kong, which I have recently seen.

At one point in the big battle scene, the entire audience was silent, and then sudently a little kid in front of me shouted "thats insane" (in danish "det sygt") it was just so hilarious :-D. you could hear alot of people trying not laugh at the little boy, but ofcourse some couldnt resist ;)

Aslan gave nothing

Actually, Aslan sacrificed his life for Edmund, not for nothing. That is a dirrect alegory of Jesus sacrificing for all of us, so I would say that the two things are very simalar, if not alike.

Anyway, the movie was so well made! The special effects were exelent, and it was mostly true to the book. Especially the last part! I enjoyed it throughly, though not as much as LOTR, probably because I had never read the books first, unlike Narnia.

Oh, did you know that the same companay that made the LOTR special effects made them for this movie? I can see why....

I don't agree with you because the notion itself of sacrifice implies loosing something knowingly !!!

Like I said previously, Aslan looses his life only for a couple of minutes, but did not sacrifice anything knowing that he will be brought back to life !!

I would have agreed with you if Aslan came back as a spirit and not as his self ;)

Look, he knew that he would be brought to life, I can understand that. BUT, Jesus also knew that he would be brought back to life, and just like Aslan, he stayed around for a bit longer. The only thing that makes the two different is that Jesus went back to heaven after a bit longer, and still hasn't come back. That s differernt, but nothing else is!

I think because the first did well enough we will get three for sure.

LW&W

Prince Caspian

The Voage of the Dawn Treader (which I think will be amazing if they can pull it off right)

I agree , I hope that they make all seven.
