December 1, 200915 yr Rumpelmuck said: O.K. Brickshelf is up again and you'll find the original BMPs here hereCheers! Thomas Hi Rumpelmuck! I think I can see why the snack bar is looking a little squished. You have opened the door on the left side which is sticking out over the edge by about .25 of a stud. I am guessing that you might not have included that extra width when you re-sized the pic? Close the door just enough so there is no overhang and try it again. It should be fine then. Did you take the screen shot of the beach house with a different program? I noticed the other two GIFs are step pictures from MLCad. I am trying to figure out why the green is so different. Thanks for letting me know that Brickshelf was up and running again. Here are my very, very humble contributions. Its my last project week of the year next week so hopefully I will be able to provide more input again after that. December 2, 200915 yr Hi! I'll try the Snack Bar again. The Beach House was resized with Paint.net and I used the MLCad colour "Light Green" as the original basplate is brighter than the standard green. Cheers! Thomas
December 3, 200915 yr Hi Thomas, you can send PM messages once you have made 10 post on Eurobricks. One more post and that feature should be available to you. I will try to work on the pictures this weekend. Edited December 3, 200915 yr by missouri_bb63
December 6, 200915 yr As promised, here are two revised GIFs based on your BMP files. I also noticed that the chef in the Snack Bar GIF has his hand sticking out over the edge slightly. Because of that and the overhanging door on the left it is hard to tell exactly which dimensions the model has in studs in length or width (which makes it tricky to rescale). It is best to avoid making any unnecessary overhangs when making GIFs but I think this re-scaling comes pretty close. Don't forget to make the XML files for your GIFs. You will need them for any sets that have overhangs so that will fit properly on the BlueBrick grid. This one is also a bit less fuzzy now. I just checked peeron concerning the baseplate of the beach house and it has it listed as a standard green. I will see if I can find the exact color somewhere. Happy building! EDIT: OK, I just had a look at quite a few pictures of the beach house using the image finder on google and on Brickshelf, and it really does seem to be a relatively dark green baseplate but it is always hard to tell because of the lighting. Here is one of the pictures I found. So perhaps it would be best to change it to standard green in MLCad too, or use the custom color pallet to make a color which you think is closer to the original. December 9, 200915 yr Those look great! Thanks so much for your contributions. As soon as I have a proper internet connection on Friday (currently using a BlackBerry) I will add them to the index. I don't believe anyone is working on the toyshop. I am looling forward to seeing that! Could you put the car and motorbike in the service station GIF? To prevent the parts library from getting too cluttered we try to only separate the vehicles from the main Gif if there is no room on the baseplate. Thanks again for your great work! Thanks for all the information. I'm still working on the Toy Shop. Seems more complex as suggested :-(. I don't know if there is a similar phrase in english, but in Germany we like to say: "Hardly the chipmunk cherish itself!" Greets Thomas
December 21, 200915 yr I use BlueBrick at home to design my Basement layout. I am also planning a dream layout
December 22, 200915 yr A request: can any of you design 6479 Emergency Response Center? My love for Res-Q is back...
December 29, 200915 yr Quote A request: can any of you design 6479 Emergency Response Center? My love for Res-Q is back... Even though I haven't been at work for the past week, I still haven't been able to dedicate any time to BlueBrick... until now. After all, how could I possibly turn down a request from a fellow Lego fan? Here you go Richie. I hope you like it. During the next few days I will be working on some stuff which I have owed Alban for ages, so hopefully we can release version 1.6 some time in the near future. Happy building! December 30, 200915 yr Right, now that I have some time on my hands I figured it was time I presented an old classic which probably many AFOLs have in their collection somewhere. Actually it was my younger brother who had this set. I had the earlier 6392 model. I will post the XMLs tomorrow. I have added it to my BlueBrick layout which you can see here (a reproduction of my old layout which is here). I just noticed I still need to lighten the grays a bit too, so I will let you know when I have updated them. Rumplemuck already gave you the correct link, but alternatively you will always be able to find it in the very first post of this thread, and in the BlueBrick Set Index to which there is a link in my signature. Alternatively I have noticed that typing BlueBrick into google now actualy has the correct page turning up at the top of the search results. I haven't gotten around to making the XMLs for the airport yet. I did a Vista to Windows 7 upgrade instead. I can't believe I waited so long! It is sooo much better.
