Khorne Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I think that the guy with the hammer is remaking the Shield of Ages like the Elves remade Aragorn's sword in LOTR: the weapon to destroy Evil forever :oo . Quote
DarthBrick429 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 That calender pic is so much better than the pics we got for the KK3 sets. The tower looks like something I'm definetly interested in buying! Quote
gylman Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Re: some of the earlier posts about "classic castle being dead", and TLC will never return to it... I too dislike the current offerings. But, I disagree with the negativity. In the last 3 years TLC has changed a LOT. It really is listening to customers, and it really is paying attention to AFOLs. 5 years ago TLC was completely insulated from the outside world, very different from now. However, things do not change overnight. I am sure KK took a couple of years to plan, and a couple of years to roll out. They are gauging response. If it does not succeed, I predict they will return to the classic style. If it DOES succeed (because kids may still like what AFOLs do not), I still predict TLC will create a classic-castle line, if only to gauge the interest of kids and buying power of AFOLs. Those old castles used mostly standard bricks and will not be very hard to produce again. All they need is a good set designer and the willingness to hit the $100 price point so that we get a big enough set we can do something with, with enough figs. As I see it the other big hurdle to return of classic castles is the loss of old gray. However, regardless, I predict this return will happen, either through pathway A or pathway B in the next 2-3 years. The most likely mechanism is that they will release a single big set, and if it sells REALLY well, they will follow it with a line. Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Wow I was amazed when I read your post gylman...Your predictions would be so great. And they are so well thought out it just might be true. Thank you for you bring hope. And then Pirates maybe?..Arr we can always hope! Quote
Assassin Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I have to admit, from what I've seen so far, I will not be buying much this year. Which could be a blessing in disguise - considering the (bad) state of my credit card ! ! ! Quote
Shadow Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Wow gylman, your post gives me hope :oD I do want this to be true, although I don't see KK2 as being that bad. In fact, its given us a few more pieces and weapons we didn't have in our stash. Quote
rew12 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Well, let's hope there are more than three sets out for this line. Let's think: -In KK2 line 1, In Citadel of Orlan set, the 2nd largest set in this line, there were 2 of total 5 knights minifigs included. In Castle of Morcia, the largest set in this line, there were all 5 knights minifigs included. -In KK2 line 2, In Scorpion Prison Cave set, the 2nd largest set in this line, there were 3 of total 5 knights minifigs included. In Vladek's Dark Fortress, the largest set in this line, there were all 5 knights minifigs included. -Now, In KK2 line 3, in Tower of Ages set, the ? largest set in this line, there are 4 of total 6 knights minifigs included. So, maybe there is a bigger set, that has all 6 minifigs included? For example, maybeBattle at the Pass set, listed on Brickset is the largest one? Quote

john cleese Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Holy crud systems back!!!!!!!! :oD lego started to suck when the system name went by by. math equation new lego= crap old lego=good lego-system=crap lego+system= good lego-system=new lego lego+system=oldlego new lego+ system= 0 as you can see the crap and system variables cancle, leaving us with zero but soon more lego goes into production, we will call it future lego future lego+system= good so if we keep the system name, then we will have good lego. Key design features on box consumers should watch out for to keep from buying a potentially crappy set are, no system logo, blue border. anyway the sets arent very impressive, the castles look like boxes with bionicle garbage all over them and in what way do any of these crap sets look like this ?????????????????????????????????? or are we talking about crappy minifig scale models that arent technically system?, seems like it :/ |-/ 8-| Quote

Anyway, I think the KK sets have improved, seeing as they have now included more bricks rather than those massive walls (even though they are still in the set) but i still don't like it. My army consists of Royal Knights, so how can I possibly find this set useful? Still, it is alright. I'm not sure wether I will buy it or not. Maybe if we stop purchasing KK2 sets, then they'll realise how much worse KK2 is than the classic castle sets. Quote
Cutty Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Maybe if we stop purchasing KK2 sets, then they'll realise how much worse KK2 is than the classic castle sets. By that rational Lego WILL most probably deduct that the decreasing sales number in Castle is a silent call for even more Beeped up Bionicle Beeep... Do you really want THAT?! Edited by Yoda: Just beeped the curse words ;) Tks from refraining from using them ;) Quote
christopher110 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I don't really like the design of the "tower".......... The colour shceme doesn't work for me.........Hopefully it's just a prototype.......... Quote
Thrash Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I saw these on in the news section of eurobricks, so I figured they should be posted here too. Here are the pictures of 4 of the new KK2 sets for this year: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1601840 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1601841 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1601842 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1601843 It looks like the first one comes with 9 or 10 minifigures, so that's pretty sweet. Cutty Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 for the battle at the pass i counted 5x green knight, 5x yellow/black knight and 1 skeleton ^^ damn I have to get dozens of this set ^^ Quote
MattZitron Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Is there a rundown somewhere of what the sets are, piece count etc? Is there a big castle this wave? Quote
Graynar Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Battle at the pass looks way awesome! Ten figs and a skeleton. But one knight has an old castle helm. The one to the far left by the weapons rack. Very cool indeed.I hope this set comes at a decent price... Quote
rew12 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Aren't there any hero knights in Battle at the Pass? Quote
Berry Syedow Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I'm not sure if anybody's caught this yet, but there appears to be another mini-fig with a classic helmet to the right of the battle of the pass picture. My eyes could be deceiving me, though... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 5, 2006 Governor Posted February 5, 2006 Ok! Wait! Stop! The title of this thread, "New KK3 sets out" is bugging me a bit. Are these sets Knights Kingdom III sets, or are they really Knights Kingdom II year 3 sets? Because if they're the latter I recommend the title of this thread be amended as the information contained within is technically misleading, and here at Eurobricks we bring you the latest and most accurate news first! Or we endeavour to do so at the best of our ability! Quote

Because if they're the latter I recommend the title of this thread be amended as the information contained within is technically misleading, and here at Eurobricks we bring you the latest and most accurate news first! Or we endeavour to do so at the best of our ability! I believe it is KK2:3. You see, the year with King Leo and the Bulls was KK1. The Jellybeans first year was KK2. The Jellybellies second year with Vladek's dark fortress was KK2:2. Now this year with the Rouge knights and battle at the pass would be KK2:3. KK3 would be a completey new castle theme. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's the correct terms. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 9, 2006 Governor Posted February 9, 2006 That's exactly what I was suspecting Mr Graynar! So the title of this thread should be KK2:3 or KK Year 3 to be technically correct! Quote

Yes, it should be that. Can't you change it, mr. phes? You have mod powers. Well, technically the second isn't totally correct either It would have to be KK2 Year 3, as KK Year 3 implies the same as KK3 Quote
