MrTools Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 A quick moc i made to test sliding doors Enjoy Quote
Commander Assassin Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 That is too cool! Nice work MrTools. I am hoping that you may be able to make a Death Star diorama.... Quote
VBBN Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Very nice. Proboably the best blast doors have seen thus far. Then again, they are probably the only ones I have seen. XD I look forward to seeing how you incorporate these into a MOC. Quote
RileyC Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 wow they work great! I wish I had as good of mocing skills as you Quote
Dragonator Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Hey, nice work MrTools. I always like it when I see people building moving parts like this, very cool indeed. A simple yet very effective door design, while I gather that the gearing must have taken some work. It always takes me ages to work out the right gears to use. Quote
JimBee Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Very impressive, MrTools. Simple, effective, and great for any SW MOC. I would love to see this used in one. Quote
Dutch Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Wow those are some nice blast door mind telling me how you made them. Also can I use these in a moc I am making? Quote
Commander Flash Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Very good. That could make an awesome set, as it is a very used door in Star Wars Quote
Matteo Kenobi Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 You know I've been playing around trying to get a smaller version of this, so this is great example! Well done, glad this worked out really well, it looks awesome by the way! Quote
nadnerb112 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Wow i hate technical things but if i had instructions for that i would build that! Nice job. Quote
LEGOscum Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Very cool. The mechanism must have been a steep learning curve. But now you'll be able to figure out a gear system to open both simutaneously using one crank. Quote
the Inventor Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Well done blast-door. Are they opening the same time, or do you you have to turn them both. It would be awesome if you made it work with some kind of power-function. the Inventor Quote
MrTools Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Well done blast-door. Are they opening the same time, or do you you have to turn them both. It would be awesome if you made it work with some kind of power-function. the Inventor Well they have to be opened by hand and individualy, im trying to limit it to one knob but this was hard enough for me Anyway i am picking up some power functions soon and that would be cool... SWMAN Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 (edited) Very cool. Those are the best I have ever seen. I love how you have a working mechanism on the top and that you have all 4 doors. I would suggest taking better pictures. You should try adding some similar ones to the Endor Bunker (if you have it). Edited July 15, 2009 by SWMAN Quote
