So today I have some interesting information regarding Lego Employees. My source was a family friend who worked at the Lego distribution warehouse in Enfield, CT for a number of years.

I have always wanted to work for Lego, but this information makes the job seem heavenly

Did you know that Lego employees are rewarded with brand new lego sets if they do something exceptional or outstanding for the company!?!? Did you know that Instead of giving Christmas or holiday bonuses employees receive giant baskets of Lego sets!?!?

Did you know that the sets they recieve are not dinky little impulses, but HUGE sets such as the SandCrawler or the Imperial Star destroyer!?!

The only downside is that all the sets received had damaged boxes; but nonetheless, Free lego!

Sounds like a good job! Too bad I'm not looking for one. What do you mean by "all the sets received boxes?"

No offense, but this is kind of a pointless topic. While it is nice that they receive free Legos, it isn't all that surprising or interesting. I have a relative that works for Anheuser-Busch who gets free beer. Same kind of thing.

The whole free Legos instead of Bonuses would be a real drag, especially in this economy. You can't buy food or clothes with a Lego set.

In Billund the christmas present has nothing to do with bricks.

Employees buy Lego at half Danish prize, but only for own use, no reselling.

Some employees can take a set home, to test build it, but can't show it to anyone, as its unreleased.

Free beer? Wow.

And you don't have to spend your hard-earned money for your hobby, so you can use it for whatever else.

Or, if you don't want the set, you could probably part it out and sell it.

I meant to say "all the sets recieved had damaged boxes." Sorry for the confusion

Hmm there isnt a smile icon for drooling, anyway sounds like an awsome job!but what would it qualify for, i mean is it a certain job because when im old enough im going to try and get a job at one of the LEGO stores, there are two near my house and the drive isnt that bad

Wow! LEGO employees are so lucky.

Are these bonuses are also for LEGO Store workers? Or just for the people who work in the LEGO headquarters?

I'd kill for a job with TLC

I know that you've got quite a couple of new BIONICLE sets. :classic:

If you MOC with them, are you allowed to show pictures of the MOC, or only if no unreleased parts are present?

working for TLG sound real nice, but i am not sure about living in Denmark :P

...but on the other hand free/cheap lego....i would be hard pressed to make that choice if it ever presented itself

If I have a new set, I put it together and put it back in the box or in a bag.

I can't keep track of all the new parts and colours, so it's just safer to keep it seperate from what other bricks I have.

Yeah, that is true. But in this economy, I would rather have money to spend on food than money to spend on Legos (or free Legos). They actually just discontinued the free beer when Inbev bought the company, but for at least 10 years they got it.

Still, I would take a check over pricing out Lego pieces and getting some money from that.

Its good that they give away stuff with damaged box. Otherwise they'll have to discount it quite heavily to sell. That is very clever of TLG. Most companies that sell or manufacture things do tend to give products to staff ... especially products that will be difficult to sell.

I think if I'm going to work for TLG it will be for a reason other than free Lego tho. There's plenty of other attractions with working for the company.

This does sound really nice. Free LEGO, even if it does have a messed up box, it would be great to get, and I don't keep the boxes anyway. This makes me want to work with LEGO even more.
