legofan Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hello bros! I was wondering for a very long time which set to get to make a truck for my upcoming BrickForge animals. I wanted a low bed truck to ferry the animals, and kept looking around for a nice 6-studs wide truck that looks good and huge enough... So after much pondering and my first experiment, i would like to share with you this MOC i made using ONLY the bricks from the set 7733 WITHOUT dismantling the forklift: Here goes: Isometric front view Working power tail-gate for loading pallets and goods Interior cargo space Rear view (with power tailgate closed and top locked) Right view of the truck Front view of the truck (exactly the same as 7733, no alterations made) Left side of the truck (note the little gauge that keeps the refridgerator truck cold) Truck and Forklift (my version) Isometric Rear view One final look~ HHmmm... Overall i'm kinda happy with it, judging that i just used ONLY the bricks in the set for the truck itself. No doubt the colour looks very weird now, but i wanted to try just using the original bricks with no external bricks used. After building, i found it looking more and more like those huge freezer truck we often see on the streets loading and unloading at major supermarkets... Kinda cool... ;) Finally, all comments and critism very welcomed! Hope u bros like my first try at MOC! Cheers~~ ;) Quote
Rufus Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Nice. I'm with you on the whole 'using only parts from the set' thing. I just wonder whether it would be possible to articulate your truck into a tractor-trailer arrangement (there are enough wheels for that, and a big turntable). I might just experiment myself (I'm in the process of building 7733 as we speak!) Quote
Rufus Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 As promised (not that anyone's been reading). This is a simple mod using only the pieces from the truck. Pallets and forkilft intact. It's a little bit fragile... It's also my first attempt at photos so be gentle! Rufus Quote
paul_delahaye Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I've done very as well with these truck sets, I will post some pics this weekend if i can! Quote
prateek Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 V2 looks much better even though there is no door, but it seems much more realistic. Good job considering the pallets and fork lift are still intact Quote
Milan Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Legofan, great truck, looks very solid and nice, I just do not like 1x3 inverted slop behind the rear wheels...to me it looks like that piece does not belong there... Quote
legofan Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 WOW! Thanks bro Rufus for the wonderful MOC! Indeed! it's a very nice idea of turning the truck into a semi with container ~ I kinda like your model more than mine as the color blending is so much better~ Cheers and thanks for sharing~ Quote
aawsum Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 He, 2 very nice attempts, considering that only parts from the set are used. It still shows, that several models can be build from one set only. For set 1 it looks a bit strange to me that the rear seems to be a diiferent white color then the front., the truck itselfs looks fine and would (maybe) even look better when we add a trailer to it. The second truck looks pretty ok, maybe an idea to change the position of the bricks which are now between panel 3 and 4 to somewhere else (not sure where) so the trailer looks it bit more in proportion. but well done for both of them Quote
black painter Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 very nice trucks, it looks like a older Iveco prime mover that we have at work (im a truck driver). I think it needs a gap between the cab and body for a reefer unit. Quote
