danim Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) Hi here are a couple of photos of a lego model that I built as the real HMS Daring was being launched the small grey 2*2 piece is connected to the battery box hidden under the bridge in the hull which is connected by wires to the red box under the radar and when the battery box is switched on the radar spins The hull is that of set 7899 which does mean that is floats but with the battery box and radar the ship is top heavy so if flips once in the water Edited July 20, 2009 by TheBrickster Quote

JopieK Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 does anyone like this or is there anything I can improve onp.s thanks mods for adding MOC to this topic Hi Danim, nice moc! You could try to make more details to make it even more realistic. E.g. at brickshelf you can find a lot of photos for inspiration (of course also on eurobricks). Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Nice MOC mate, very nice indeed. We don't often see modern navy ships, so this is a nice change. One thing I could suggest to make this ship more realistic, is maybe if you used this piece on the bridge. It would make it look more like a real modern navy ship. Well done here, I hope you keep us posted on this and other MOCs. Quote
Milan Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Yes, maybe some more details would improve realism, it has nice shape, but details would improve it. Quote
danim Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 unfortunatly due to the size of the police boat hull the whole model is out of scale, what I am hoping to do at some point is to create a minifig size one with full details including anchor and helicopter deck with lynx helicopter, once I get enough money to build one Quote
CopMike Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hi danin! God job ! Looks a lot like the Swedish navy stealth covettes, like the HMS Visby: So maybe your thought was to make it stealthy ! CopMike Quote
danim Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) it is based on this ship Edited July 24, 2009 by danim Quote
