Perry the Platypus Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Agreed. What do you think Lloyd is going to do with the map he stole from the Hypnobrai? Quote
Aanchir Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Agreed. What do you think Lloyd is going to do with the map he stole from the Hypnobrai? I'm fairly certain that map will show him the way to where the Fangpyre are entombed. The episode title ("Snakebit") and some of the comments I've read from people in countries where the episode has already aired suggest to me that the Fangpyre are awakened in this next episode. And anyway, something has to keep the plot moving towards its inevitable destination of all five Serpentine tribes being awakened. Quote
Fallenangel Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 What do you people think of the assumption that cartoons are kids stuff? Wouldn't want any child of mine watching this. Quote
Perry the Platypus Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 New My Little Pony tomorrow! This involves Apple Jack again. Quote
Zarkan Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Well, as I hoped, I recieved Transformers Beast Wars: The Complete Series for my birthday, and I'm well on my way towards finishing the first season. People sometimes ask why certain transformers fans hate on the Michael Bay Movies so much. Well, watch this series and you'll understand why: it is the finest example of how awesome Transformers can be if it is written inteligently and isn't just a glorified toy commercial. Quote
just2good Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 New My Little Pony tomorrow! This involves Apple Jack again. I'm not really looking forward to the new episode. The premise seems dull, but then again, I thought the last episode's premise seemed dull, but it came out to be a good episode. Quote
Oky Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I recently discovered an interesting cartoon called Xombie. Apparently it's an old flash animation which has been turned into a comic series and an upcoming feature film. It's a very original story about a zombie with a human conscience who protects a little girl on her quest to find her parents. It's very well done for a small-time production, and the creator has since gone on to work on the Transformers films! It actually reminds me of the Tartakovski cartoons due to it's stylized animation, exceptional cinematography, and emphasis on action. You can watch it on Netflix if you have it. Otherwise, you might be able to track it down elsewhere, but not on Newgrounds where it originated. Either way, I can recommend it, even to non-zombie fans! Quote

I just thought of something completely random: Rainbow Jack. Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Since when has an MLP episode ever been dull? I should of been more specific, every MLP episode is at least a "C" rating (7/10+). Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 The new episode was better than I expected it to be! The song was catchy, and the letter to Celestia ending was quite funny! I give it an 8.75/10. Quote
Oky Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Yeah, decent episode with a pretty good song. I still feel bad for Applejack though. The song wasn't hers and she didn't even learn anything. Oh well, at least she starred in , so that's gotta count for something, right?Speaking of which, MAD is a pretty good cartoon too! Although it's a bit stupid at times (it's MAD after all), it's almost on par with Robot Chicken! I just thought of something completely random: Rainbow Jack. That's not that random really, although the preferred term is Appledash. But PLEASE let's not talk about shipping. Quote

I give it an 8.75/10. I agree! Finally a villain song! And the FlimFlam brothers were much more interesting characters than I thought they would be! This one wasn't quite as good as The Last Roundup, but it was definitely up there! Yeah, decent episode with a pretty good song. I still feel bad for Applejack though. The song wasn't hers and she didn't even learn anything. Poor Applejack. Being the most mature and level-headed character in the show is great, but it doesn't make for very interesting episodes. That's not that random really, although the preferred term is Appledash. But PLEASE let's not talk about shipping. Yup, it's AppleDash. Although I kind of got a more FlutterDash vibe from this episode (especially the beginning). I try to avoid shipping too, but a fanfic I read recently (Shipping and Handling) has made me a lot less averse to it. Quote

Although it's a bit stupid at times (it's MAD after all), it's almost on par with Robot Chicken! Eh, I never really liked MAD. It felt like most of the segments were rushed with random jokes just to cash in on somethings fame. My favorite short is 'Spy Vs. Spy'. That one is true to the classic comic strip. Quote
Peanuts Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Hm, I liked the recent MLP episode, but it was kind of overshadowed by The Last Roundup. But hey, extended pony economics, this is almost as good as pony history. And another catchy song with two catchy characters. I also liked Rainbow's appearance in the show. Not enough Rarity, though. It's time we get another Rarity episode. I'd just like to ask what exactly "cider" is. Is it an alcoholic beverage or not? It's just, different translation pages/dictionaries give me different results. I'm confused. Quote
Tamamono Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Not enough Rarity, though. It's time we get another Rarity episode. This. Never enough Rarity! I'd just like to ask what exactly "cider" is. Is it an alcoholic beverage or not? It's just, different translation pages/dictionaries give me different results. I'm confused. I don't know about other countries, but here in the States, alcoholic cider is specified as 'hard cider'. I'm pretty sure that the show is Canadian though, and I don't know how they specify their alcoholic cider. Although seeing the way the ponies acted after drinking the cider (especially Pinkie Pie!), I'd say it's probably an alcoholic beverage. By the way, Peanuts, I love the Fancy Pants avatar! Rarity will be returning to my avatar after IMHOTEP and Red Moon are over! Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) I'd just like to ask what exactly "cider" is. Is it an alcoholic beverage or not? It's just, different translation pages/dictionaries give me different results. I'm confused. Here in the UK Cider is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented apples, sort of like fizzy, alcoholic apple juice. Popularly drunk by farmers and the like. Here there is no such thing as 'non-alcohilic cider', because that would just be fizzy apple juice. Hope that clears it up! *Hums 'I am a Cider drinker' by the Werzels." Ah, thanks for the clarification. Everything would be much easier if you Brits and Yankees spoke the same language (at least for me). Quote
just2good Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Speaking on characters who don't get enough episodes, when the heck is there going to be another Fluttershy episode? Quote
Perry the Platypus Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I think we need a new Spike episode. The equivilent of apple cider is really just apple juice... or so I've heard. Quote
Oky Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Yeah, like Tamamono said, cider is usually non-alcoholic here in the States, and that's what I thought the one in the episode was supposed to be. After all, the show is being produced by Hasbro Studios, which is an American Studio, and I don't think they would promote an alcoholic beverage in a show aimed at young kids. Plus most of the cider in this episode was served right after production, so there was no time for fermentation. I guess it would explain the ponies' reaction to the drink if it were alcoholic, but it would also make Rainbow Dash look like an alcoholic with withdrawal syndrome. Besides, wouldn't Berry Punch have been first in line if it was alcoholic? Quote
Tamamono Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Speaking on characters who don't get enough episodes, when the heck is there going to be another Fluttershy episode? Probably at the end of the season. I remember A Bird in the Hoof and Stare Master were late episodes in the first season, so there's no reason why there can't be more late Fluttershy episodes. I think we need a new Spike episode. Meh, I see no immediate need for another Spike episode. One per season is fine; he's not even that good of a character, anyway. Plus most of the cider in this episode was served right after production, so there was no time for fermentation. Maybe there's another reason why the citizens of Ponyville prefer Apple Family cider to FlimFlam brothers cider. Quote
Perry the Platypus Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I finally watched the episode. Very nice. A few Derpy spottings, catchy song (reminds me of the Music Man), and humor. MLP just keeps getting better and better! Quote
CrazedWookiee Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Just a few cartoons/anime's I enjoy. Ruroni Kenshin One Piece South Park Futurama Some Family Guy, (Quagmire gets on my nerves a lot) Quote
Vindicare Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Bleach, Trigun, the new Marvel ones are pretty good(X-Men, Ironman, Wolverine and Blade). Blue Gender, G Gundam. Just to name a few. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 I didn't watch the X-Men anime, when my favourite characters either do not appear or have a 30-second cameo in the last episode I would rather seek out something else. I am working through the old cartoon, I found the DVDs really cheap a while back. Looking forward to the DC Nation shorts. The Aardman one I have seen was fab, going to have to take a gander at the interwebz for them as I doubt CN in the UK will play them when I can watch. Can't wait for new Teen Titans shorts and the others. Quote
