HumanPackMule Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That is NOT true! Futurama would never stoop as low as Family Guy! Which is why I said like. Quote

Perry the Platypus Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Hey, thanks! I just thought we could use a thread, considering so many people in my welcome thread said they are big fans of the show, as well. Edited September 2, 2011 by Perry the Platypus Quote
Perry the Platypus Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Phineas and Ferb. End of conversation. Look who's talking! Welcome! I too am a huge Phineas and Ferb fan. Did you see the movie? Epic, right? *Clears Throught* "Ahem. Nobody asks Beljeet what he is doing!" and As a fellow fan of Phineas and Ferb I have to say anyone who doesn't find that show funny has no soul. My son and I watch it every day and the songs are some of the best parts. Welcome to the site its fun here too. I completely agree with the person above. Phineas and Ferb is such a creative cartoon with creative muscal numbers, great amounts of humor, and a platypus! Who doesn't like platypus', platypi, platypeople? Well, you know what I mean. The TV movie, Across the 2nd Dimension, was entertaining, as well. Maybe I will post a review later. Edited September 2, 2011 by Perry the Platypus Quote
simonjedi Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Futurama would never stoop as low as Family Guy! It would never stoop so low to current Simpsons either. I've been enjoying new Futurama. It only really started to be good during the Hermes and Bender episode. It got really great during the time travel episode. However the WORST futurama moment is 'Susan Boil.' I believe my FB status after that was: A boil called Susan that sings showtunes? Jesus f***ing Christ Futurama, You're better than this. Hogarth Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 My brother really likes my show but I don't really understand it. I feel like every episode is the same but with a different skin but that is just what I think as I can see the quality in it. Has the show addressed the fact that summer is only like 100 days and yet they have had like 3 years of it? Quote
Modulex Guy Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well, I guess I need to update my anime list... Some of the Anime series I am watching now or just finished watching are: FLCL Rumbling Hearts (what a sad and heart wrenching series...I'm a sucker for these chick-flick kinds of things ) Hidamari Sketch Bubblegum Crisis (only watched the first episode so far) Galaxy Express 999 Ghost Hunt You're Under Arrest Quote
vexorian Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) (This post is about Phineas and Ferb) The whole show is like a thesis about how "good writing" can exist independently of a plot. Because of that, it gets incredibly meta, much of the show comes from subverting or inverting its rules or playing them straight in situations you wouldn't expect. It's a constant game on expectations. That said, it is a special taste and even if it is your kind of show you'll probably need to pay attention to a couple of four episodes before getting it. To me, it manages to be more interesting and have more sophisticated humor than the cartoons that are advertised as for grown ups. And the movie is by far the best movie I watched this year. Not like that was actually difficult to accomplish, this year has been a horrible year to watch movies, specially animated ones (I am looking at you, Pixar). -- Now I really would be skeptical about a LEGO theme. I mean, how are you going to do the figures without falling to the toy story megabloks slippery slope? Edited September 3, 2011 by vexorian Quote

One of the Best Anime show EVER! I have watched every episode at least twice, have all the DVD's most of the Manga books, and now I'm trying to get the Diecast cars. Any street racer fans also might like "Wangan Midnight", its about racing on the highways of Japan. Quote
Oky Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Just watched the Season 6 finale of Futurama. Is it normal to have motion sickness after the first third? Good thing the rest of the episode featured (intentionally) cruddy animation, so I could calm down a bit. Funny episode (just like all of them) but the whole "F you, audience, because you can't see this amazing thing we're not showing you" gag got old after the second time. Overall, I'd say this was a good season, and I'm sad that there wont be any new episodes again for half a year, but at least we know it's coming back. Quote

Are you referring to the smallest particle and the dance of peace? I thought the episode was amazing. Definitely the best episode of the season. And I was laughing the entire episode. I have been watching Thundercats, it reminds me of Avatar the Last Airbender. So good! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Ok, so I have to say this: I am loving Young Justice. Right when I first heard of it I was a little cross at the line-up. The comic that launched the whole YJ team was what first really got me into comics after I founnd the TPB. "These guys were not the right characters and that sucks" etc. Of course, finding my self at a loose end one evening I decided to watch the first few episodes and was hooked! A mix of missions with character relationships for the story makes it entertaining, I was never into Teen Drama! mostly because there is only so much pouty privileged teens I can put up with, the whole comic book dimension in YJ keeps me interested. Plenty of really cool cameos from the entire DCU and an established timeline that is agreeable to me. The DCU presented in this cartoon is in fact what the DCnU should be! Oh well, can't wait for next weeks episode! Quote
Oky Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Are you referring to the smallest particle and the dance of peace? I thought the episode was amazing. Definitely the best episode of the season. Yeah. Like I said, it was a good episode, but not really my favorite. Can't say which one is my favorite; they're all so good! Ok, so I have to say this: I am loving Young Justice. Yeah, it's definitely one of the best cartoons out there. I just don't like that emo, good-for-nothing Superboy. I also feel like Kid Flash could be portrayed better. It's actually kinda ironic that Aqua Lad is the cool leader of the group, considering the fans' low affection for Aquaman. Anyone else super-excited for Justice League: Doom? Batman: Year One was pretty good. It was the little, realistic details that made it so good, like the narration or showing Batman getting shot. In the end, I felt it was lacking a good climax since all Batman did was beat up some cops and save a baby. Still pretty good though. Oh, and the new season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is great too! The season opener villain was WAY better than the one from season 1, and the two episodes that followed were highly entertaining! If anyone here still hasn't seen this show, I can really recommend giving it a try. It really isn't as bad as it sounds or looks. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Kids Next Door. My Lego Dream license. Such a wonderful show. No messing with Cannon, No ugly Lego minifigures and no changing cannon God. Guess what show I am referring to? Number 1 over Emo Guy, Number 2 over the Ginger guy, Number 3 over whiny girl, Number 4 over the bald guy and best of all Number 5 over padawan deserter woman. Guess who they are. Quote

Kidding, i read you're a Brony too. Friendship is Magic is the adult version of my little pony But I would advise anyone to let their children not seeing it without parents who look with them, because I'm afraid it's sometimes maybe a bit scary for younger children. sok117 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Just watched the series finale to Batman the Brave and the Bold. Lets just say there were tears. It was a great episode though, Paul Dini wrote a fantastic story with Batmite. I urge everyone to watch it! Quote
Brickmamba Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 had the urge to start watching anime so after some research and advice from friends currently watching fate/zero (prequel to fate/stay night) black butler gantz i recommend fate/zero beautiful animation, great action just a lil slow as it's new, upto episode 6 at the moment Quote
Oky Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I watched the first few episodes of the Kung Fu Panda TV show and it's pretty good. The animation, humor, and fight choreography is almost on par with the movies, and the voices are pretty spot-on. The only problem is that the villains are really, really lame. They're your run-of-the-mill dumb Saturday morning villains, not the deep, dark, badass characters from the movies. Heck, even the villains in My Little Pony are more intimidating than these guys. But if you can look past the Saturday morning cartoon feel, it's quite an enjoyable show. Quote
simonjedi Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) So is Johnny Test trying to sort of be Dexter's Lab for 2011 but failing spectacularly in every way or is it just me? The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Adventure Time owns though... It has a very 'Classic CN feel' to them. I'm not sure about Chowder, I like the style but lukewarm to everything else. Also I can't believe how creepy in retrospect Totally Spies is. Edited November 17, 2011 by simonjedi Quote
Oky Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Just watched the series finale to Batman the Brave and the Bold. Lets just say there were tears. It was a great episode though, Paul Dini wrote a fantastic story with Batmite. I urge everyone to watch it! Well, I just watched it, and it certainly wasn't bad, but still not great. I thought the Doom Patrol episode was much sadder. You know, I think Batmite was right, absolutely right. The only truly good episode to come out of this show was Chill of the Night, and while I respect the creators' attempt at a lighthearted Batman show, I definitely agree with Batmite that it kinda failed and say good riddance. The latest episodes especially were pretty awful (who the hell is Mazing Man and who cares? ) although that may have been intended as a warm-up for the finale. That said, I'm looking forward to Batgirl Beware the Batman. So is Johnny Test trying to sort of be Dexter's Lab for 2011 but failing spectacularly in every way or is it just me? I'm getting more of a Jimmy Neutron feel from it, but comparing it to either of those shows would be a compliment. No, I believe it's just trying to be the loudest, most annoying, intellect-insulting show ever. Not that any of the other shows you listed are much better. Also I can't believe how creepy in retrospect Totally Spies is. How so? Quote
