Go Cubs Go! Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) If you could build a lego set that would be sold all around the world, what would it be. I would make a lego model of the Earth. What would you make? From, Go Cubs Go! Edited July 24, 2009 by Go Cubs Go! Quote
Dr Kilroy Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Hmm... Good question! I would build new, dark green modular house!!! It could be a bank. Quote
Sandy Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I'd probably suck as a set designer. I'd put it full of exclusive minifigs, and probably forget all about the set itself. But if I could design a set, it would be an Elf Treetop Castle, for sure. Loads of green, vegetation and elves everywhere. Quote

Delmar Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Hmm... Good question! I would build new, dark green modular house!!! It could be a bank. I´m with Kilroy on that, more modular houses in nice colors. I would make a bank too actually Quote
sologuy369 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 It's funny .I was just talking about this.It would be fun to make sets... ...of all kind . Quote
The Rancor Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I would agree to work on anything of the action and adventure element (except Bionicle (sorry guys, it's a marmite theme)). I also would not really design City, creator or tehcnic, because they don't really interest me. If anything I would like to push the boundaries and have a minifig action theme aimed at 10-16 year olds. Quote
Glacarcheo Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) I wud mak a huge-super-big-thing-that-kills-stuff-with-its-nose! LOLZ!!!!1!!1112 Now that I got that off my chest, I would make a modular castle for the Crownies, and I would make the San Diego Zoo. Edited July 27, 2009 by Glacarcheo Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I would make a four wide car with a new element to allow double minifig seating without arm clashing. A more modern version of the element from the Adventurers car, maybe with doors and only three studs long, for the moulded seats and steering wheel space. The car would be a modern sports car in dark purple with some new townie type minifigs. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 More modular stuff for the Soldier's Fort... think sort of like a rerelease of some of the greatest sets from the days of blue coats and red coats... like an Imperial Trading Post remix or Lagoon Lockup, but with new colors, the new soldiers, and completely compatible with the modular set up. They wouldn't exactly be rereleases, but more like a way to pay tribute to the old sets. Quote
Lord Admiral Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 My current "dream" line is a modular elf's treetop city. I would design around that type of theme. Otherwise, I have a number of set ideas for the Pirates theme. Different-sized ships, for one, and more factions. Quote
brickzone Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I think I'd enjoy designing sets for just about any of the standard Lego lines (i.e. not Bionicle or Technic). I think an element of fantasy/imagination would be particularly fun, such as one might have with Pirates, Castle, Action/Agents, Space. However, as regards a specific set - it would be nice to design a modular building (indeed I hope to do an MoC after finishing modding my existing ones). Town Plan has a cinema - but a modular building style theatre (conventional - not cinema) would offer scope for an interesting facade and indeed interior. In fact I may run with that idea for an MoC but I'll have to either work with existing limited window stock or go bricklink. Peppermint_M: My siblings and I (and indeed no doubt countless Lego builders through the years) have always wanted some standard way (no cajoling of parts in an awkward way) to fit two people side-by-side in a four wide car. Indeed the Adventurers piece is one I really appreciate but obviously it limits the vehicle style. I'd like new car doors in general though - I've never been happy with the lack of side windows. Karto Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Edit by Hinckley: Potentially offensive comment. Please read at your innocence's own risk. I would make a huge Lego dildo (with Power Functions), just to get some more women at the Lego shelves. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Maybe the great wall of China or a Zastava Koral also knowen as the Yugo in both UCS and minifig scale. Edited July 27, 2009 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
5150 Lego Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 An Military Humvee, or troop transport of some sort. Maybe even a new Chevey Camaro or Dodge challenger in 1/17 scale like the current Ferrari's. Quote
Justin Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I would design mostly LEGO City sets, including an American version of the city bus from City Corner, in which I would change the color scheme from the Danish yellow/gray to the American white/blue. I would also make a LEGO City burger restaurant, with kitchen, and indoor/outdoor seating. Quote

BlueBard Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Without doubt it would me a Lego maffia line , even if it would be a little "light" for kids Quote

If you were a designer and suggested that to your boss, you'd get fired (no offence) An Military Humvee, or troop transport of some sort. Maybe even a new Chevey Camaro or Dodge challenger in 1/17 scale like the current Ferrari's. I'd go for a Camaro Quote
Siegfried Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I want a big non-licensed spacecraft. I'm talking at least 2500 pieces. Edit by Hinckley: Potentially offensive comment. Please read at your innocence's own risk. I would make a huge Lego dildo (with Power Functions), just to get some more women at the Lego shelves. Yes we're a site targeting adults, but that doesn't mean we want posts like that. You're more likely to scare away women (from LEGO and EB) with that attitude.... Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I would make a new theme of mermaids and shark people, the pieces from the Harry potter sets. I don't care if it's a sub theme of Pirates but the theme would need to have the mermaids as good and the sharks as bad and theyfight but nothing too bad. Quote
Go Cubs Go! Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Great ideas everyone! I hope I'll see some sets talked about here appear on shelfs someday. From, Go Cubs Go! Quote
Svelte Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Before Indy gets the chop, I'd love to see a massive 2,000+ piece UCS style set showing off one of the amazing temples or buildings from the movies. While the vehicles are wonderfully detailed and brickbuilt, the building sets always seem a little sparse, and I would love to see the simultaneous attention to detail and seeming disregard for budgets applied to a non-SW set given to some other line. I choose Indy because of the possibilities for a great architectural model different from the Modular Houses line. Castle could work as well, but there are so many amazing MOCs that anything official would never measure up. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I would make a 100% Minifig Scaled Republic Venator Class Star Destroyer with as many Clones and Vehicles as they really can hold. OK, just kidding. I would more than likely design the rest of the Star Wars walkers that haven't been done yet, or redo the ones that have. (Minifig scaled USC AT-AP, Minifig Scaled USC AT-AT, better AT-RT, Minifig Scaled solo-set AT-OT, AT-XT, and more) Designing Battle Packs would be nice as well. Here are those. (it is the last post on the page.) Quote
