I was thinking about the possibility of the new Captain Antilles having a double sided head ( ,) and I realized, on this entire site of classy Lego snubs, I've never heard a single opinion about double sided heads.

There are somethings all AFOLs can agree on, and everything else is controversy. Sort of like health care. So what do you think? I personally like them. It's annoying though, when Lego purposely makes new hair molds for someone with a double sided face, but you can still see it! :hmpf_bad:

EDIT: Thanks SlyOwl!

I voted: Yes, and I'll kill for one on the new Antilles minifig!

I really like that new double sided head that came in a couple of this year's Castle sets with the scared side. I hope Antilles has a double sided head! I wouldn't kill for it, but I want one really badly. The only thing I don't like about double sided heads is that usually, if your minifig has hair on instead of a helmet, then you can see the other face. It still won't stop me from buying figs with double sided heads though.

I like the double-sided heads, but only if the hair/helmet covers the other side. They are great for Dioramas though, and it was really smart on Legos part. It will be cool if Antilles is double-sided.

Oh, and you spelled "covers" "voers". Might want to fix that.

I quite like them but you do need something to cover thier head. Any not all hats cover the back of the head, like in the pirate sets. I havn't found one that works

Two-sided heads are amazing! That being said, I actually think they are better on more generic faces as opposed to character-specific heads so I didn't vote in your poll. I would love to see a few of the two-sided castle heads from other themes like castle in flesh tones instead. A few new expressions would also be nice.

It really depends on what theme its from. Star wars it could be rather hit and missed in my opinion, on captain antilles it could be good to have a normal rebel soldier and his face on the head but it would need to be covered by the helmet. But unfortunately I dont think he does have a two sided head because he would say on the S@H page.

I noticed right after I posted the topic.

Is there a poll edit anywhere?

I believe there was a poll some length of time ago.

My take on it was and is that two-faced heads are fine as long as we continue to only get them the odd time as at present. They give versatility and work well in many cases. They do have the drawback of course of not working with some hair/headgear. So all in all I wouldn't like any more than at present, but neither am I opposed to their use at the current level, and I quite like them and use them myself.

As long as hair covers it. A lot of them have mouth expressions going down below the curve of the head, which is really hard to cover. Take a look at the skull twins- the helmet that was designed for them didn't even cover the printing. :hmpf:

They don't belong into Star Wars. I like them in other themes/ mocs / figs though. YES I also like the Exo Force heads!

I had thought about that when I first got my Willie Scott minifig. For heaven's sake, why make a new mold if it doesn't suit your purposes?

Well I only have two I believe, an Astronaut for MM and Willie Scott. I like them because it adds detail to a present situation of 'something bad is happening'

However, I wish some of the heads that have two-faces, a variation would come out without two heads. I want a use an Agent Fuse head for my sig-fig, but My sig-fig doesn't wear any headgear that covers the back of his terrified head. So i'll put 'Maybe'

I love the two-sided heads, because they provide an excuse for LEGO to make heads for more interesting or comical expressions. Without them, we wouldn't have the crying face, or any of the horrified faces of Power Miners, because they aren't the most suited for the primary face of a figure.

The only qualm I have with them is that they don't work with head-gear that doesn't cover the back of the head. This is fine for MOCs shown on the internet, because of clever photography, but it doesn't work for models where people look at them in reality. Then again, brasso can fix that problem.

If they release double printed heads, they are only useful when the second face is covered. It's true you can see one face at a time, but if you walk around a diorama, and you see a face at the back? That must be dangerous for the neck.

"Maybe, as long as the hair/helmet covers it" As others have said, there have been a fair few cases where they don't...

(In regard to What's this space for anyway?, that's for when you have more than one question. )

Yes and no

I wish sets like the power miners included both double and single sided heads. Most of my building is done with pirate stuff, so I have little use for a double sided head on a display MOC that visitors see.

I don't like the double-sided heads, only because most headgear/hairpieces don't actually cover the entire backside. I have trouble coming to terms with double-sided heads that come with headgear that leaves bits of the mouth (sometimes, the lipstick) sticking out of the second side.

I'd much rather they split the two sides it into two heads, to be put into two different sets. For example, the jester has a grinning side and a sad side. I'd rather the advent calendar come with the grinning side, and 7079 drawbridge defense come with the sad side. But I'm sure if they actually did it that way, somebody else would complain.
