Can Indy and Prince of Persia coexist?

Why does it seem to take a mod to accatualy get a topic back in order. I wanted to end that. I'm a hardcore Indy fan so that might be an answer for my frequent post. I'm sorry if I bothered you. Svelte should I take a few days and not post for awhile? I'll stay on topic for now on.

An innocent question; is this topic still valid anymore? I haven't heard any true confirmation of Indy's supposed termination but a lot of folks seem to think it's true. Not really my two cents, it's actually a serious question.

Apologies accepted Batbrick. I'm pretty sure it's still speculation. Omi said he talked to officals and they said that there wouldn't be sets but I doubt it. I don't think they's stop it for a year then continue. Kids you have forgotten it by then. Are there anymore conventions, fairs, etc. going on? Hopefully we'll get a offical annoucement soon. There are two different words from officals about Indy's future. This is my final post here. Yes, I think they will complment eachother and coexist.

They won't stop Indiana Jones for a year. They're canceling the theme. :( I think the only hope for more Indy-sets is a fift movie...

It was done with Harry Potter. I don't see how it can't be done with any other theme. Besides reasoning makes sense to put it on hold for PoP, and then continue it if interest is still there. Besides, isn't a hiatus better than cancelling?

Also BrickCon is the last US Lego con of the year, and thats in the fall.

Unless Lego thinks that Disney is their next big thing, Than losing Indy will have been a bad choice. PoP and Indy proubaly could not co-exist.

Well look at it this way.

We have Pop, Ben 10, and Toy Story for System themes. Now lets say that all (Licensed and non) themes of this year return for next year (for the sake of argument), that is a lot of themes. Lego is just cutting one licensed theme loose to make room for more. Only logical.

I cannot keep that statement about that being my last post. I didn't know that they stoped HP for a year. Was it because there was nothing to make until a new moive or because there was another theme? They could release a couple sets next year to keep the theme alive. Anyway if TLG doesn't make much/no Indy sets the whole PoP line could be cool. Cario marketplace, nice figs for customs, etc. I'm not as about PoP anymore. It could turn out nice. The figs are already great.

Edit:I just realized something. The 5th Indy moive is rumoured to come out in 2011. That will be after PoP is over and Indy should resume.

Lego shouldn't just stop making sets with no explaination. Rumors are rumors. That one doesn't have much to stand on. Here are some respones.

Indy gone for good: It would really piss me off. What sets were made where great and I enjoyed collecting the theme.

Indy takes a year off: Wouldn't be so bad. I might get out of the Indy mood if I don't get anything new. But I can catch u on SW and get some PoP.

Indy stays: Nice but for some reason I would like a combo of 2 and 3. catching up on Sw wouldn't be bad but getting acouple sets wouldn't be bad.

In answer to the title question, I'd say that they can. ) And pretty easilly, in my opinion. )

I have a feeling that POP may be somewhat like Speed Racer or Avatar. I mean a one-year long theme, made to get much profit right after the film release. ) (In fact I presume that the same thing will be with Toy Story. )

Anyway, such theme is very welcome for all licences themes fans. It can contribute much to Indy, Batman, etc.....

Plus, it will be very good for oriental MOCs and I'm pretty sure will contain lots of useful (perhaps unique) parts. )

I have a feeling that PoP is gonna be amazing!

And yes, I feel that Indy and Pop could exist. PoP would be based on the "Castle" theme if we had to pick, so maybe a cut back in Castle (I would hate to see that). Indy seems more like "City", but the time frame throws me off, so maybe it would be a branch of "Pirates" due to historical aspect?

i actually would like to see indy go down. no i am not a indy hater, or lego indy hater. i really like the sets, theyre awesome... but because of indy the LEGO hero, johnny thunder is now dead. as long as indy exists adventurers will not. i prefer LEGO adventurers to lego indy. this is because i feel lego adventurers are more lego than indy is. they have more adventures and its something we havent imagined. we get a set list for indy describing the NAME of the set and some dude has already come up with a way to build the thing. this tells me right there that that set isnt original at all!

SW is a bigger market than Indy. There were only action figures for the first movie from 1980, and not too many. Soundtracks were not available, even the VHS in widescreen were rare at certain points. Only the new movie made these things reappear, and it is not an effect that will last for too long.

Pardon me for the tangential corrections, but I just have to note a few things:

• Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981, not 1980.
  
• There actually were action figures for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom back in '84 (as well as for Raiders a couple years earlier), though there were just a few of them and they weren't all that readily available.
  
• There most certainly were soundtracks for each of the original movies when they came out. There were even four soundtrack volumes released for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

Please tell me you're joking. Nothing personal to Megablocks, but MB could never match the quality of official Lego sets, we would have to customize every fig into a Lego minifig, and a lot of MB parts do not exist in Lego, so the instructions could not always be used for building with Lego parts.
