Omicron Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Seriously? Please tell me you're joking. Nothing personal to Megablocks, but MB could never match the quality of official Lego sets, we would have to customize every fig into a Lego minifig, and a lot of MB parts do not exist in Lego, so the instructions could not always be used for building with Lego parts. No joke. Besides, MB could give you the tank you want, since they don't hold back on that stuff. And there is this thing call improvising. Despite it being competition, you should sometimes be thankful that they can provide the things that would be deemed impossible. Just a thought. -Omi Edited September 17, 2009 by Omicron Quote
RJBT Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Can I clear something up for you guys? PoP is a video game movie - These films are always forgetable flops. The only thing that could ruin Indy is the fact that PoP is a video game Trilogy The PoP we are talking about is actually called. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Sands of Time was the name of the first game and I think it ended on a cliffhanger. That means there is probably going to be another 2 PoP movies. On the lighter side. If Lego stays in a good mood with Disney - We will probably get rights to Pirates of the Caribbean 4 instead of Mega-Bloks. Quote

Okay, I'm gonna throw a logic bomb at you, so get ready: If a film is a flop, they won't make another two movies. But that still helps your point. Batbrick Away! Quote
Omicron Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 PoP is a video game movie - These films are always forgetable flops. Once in awhile, a good one comes a long. And looking at the people in the movie, and behind the movie, I think it is safe to say that this movie won't be a flop. The PoP we are talking about is actually called. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Sands of Time was the name of the first game and I think it ended on a cliffhanger. It is just a subtitle of the film. Lots of movies do that. And the game may have ended in a cliffhanger, but the movies does not have to. -Omi Quote
Zzz Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Can Indy and Prince of Persia coexist? TLC seems to say "no". I say "yes and no"! Sets like The Temple of Doom have old fashioned minifigs and an ancient layout, that could take place a hundred or thousands of years ago, so they are perhaps kind of too similiar to Pop. The setting, the minifgs, the atmosphere. But sets like Venice, Shanghai and Peru have modern minifigs (suits, leather jackets, soldier uniforms) and vehicles (boats, cars, planes) that are from the last century. It depends. Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I think they can. I have a feeling that POP may be somewhat like Speed Racer or Avatar. I mean a one-year long theme, made to get much profit right after the film release. ) Yes, I think your right there. The PoP sets look good, but imo, they don't look like they have enough potential, as Indy. CommanderFox Quote

I agree completely! The PoP sets are limited to one era, whereas in 2009 only Indy mixed Thugge cults with Shanghai gangsters, blonde songstresses, saris, dinner suits, ordinary suits, peasant blouses... the list goes on! I will miss the great Indy figs. Quote

I will miss the great Indy figs. Another great point. Indeed the Indy figs are up with the Batman figs as some of the best ever produced. I shall be sad to see them go, as I was hoping to get Thuggee figs in a smaller set. However as I've said before, the PoP figs will be great for Indy still; can anyone say Staff Indy? Batbrick Away!
