In comparing classic pirates to vikings, I think I still like pirates better.

Oh, there's no doubt about that.

This would be a nice theme. I'd also like to see Greek mythology.

If it looks anything like Vikings I don't. If it looks anything like Classic Pirates I do.

Looks like the majority of the voters like the idea of a Pirates of the Caribbean theme the best. I was just watching the first movie last night, and must admit it's a pretty good movie. It would make for a nice theme.

.  In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with having both Viking and Pirates at the same time.

Technically, in 2005 there was still a Pirate theme... The lame 4+ pirate theme that is, and despite its lameness it is sadly still a pirate theme (of sorts)... My September 2005 - January 2006 LEGO Catalogue features both Pirates and Viking themes at the same time.

In fact, I think I like pirates better.  And the reason is that pirate and armada ships tie in nicely with castle sets.  Vikings just not as well.

That was the past however... If LEGO was to release another SYSTEM Pirate theme, would it integrate well with castle sets? Or would it be like trying to combine Viking and Knights Kingdom II sets with castle sets? I'm having nightmares about the latter... (And I'm still awake!)

I don't even call this a pirate theme- it's like Duplo- or even Megablocks; not even worthy of being considered classic Lego.

Well you're right about that, The Brickster! :D

However the point is its still a similiar theme (I.e. a pirate theme) coexisting with a Viking theme, and nobody under 10 is going to know 4+ Pirates is any different to SYSTEM pirates... In theory...

Well Megablocks :-X owns the Potc lisence right now and it would be expensive for TLG to get it also but I still want it.

I'd want to see a super accurate Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman.

Oh and the Imperial ship, also what is it the Dauntlis? That one was hugely awesome.

I voted for "A new very accurate/detailed pirate ship (mini-fig scale)". I would love another chance to have a real ship. :'-) As for PotC... M&g$Bl@ks can keep it. I think they are a match made in heaven. :-X

if it was a new line it may be only pirates... no guards/soldiers/armada, POTC would have all heros and 1 generic pirate or something, not to mention a lot of shadey things like the kraken, forget pirates is just wrong, and a port would be nice as long as it included sufficiently sized ships and forces. so Id go with a minifig scale ship

Any Pirate sets would be welcome, as long as the quality of the design was as good as the Classic sets! Re-releasing Pirates would actually get me to buy Lego again for the first time since I bought the re-released BSB a few years back. Ironic, I think...
