It seems like it leads to 2010 story, which involves the Valley of the Maze. And if the movie sells well, we can expect a sequel next year and in 2011.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that's right.

I found it pretty disappointing. It was better than the first 3, but still disappointing. I mean, there were no new revelations, nothing happened that we didn't already know/guessed would happen. Also, the ending was so unsatisfying. Sure, you could say it left it open for more story in years to come, but so did LoMN and it still had a satisfying ending. I did find Berix funny though.

Well given that we relentlessly analyzed every little bit of info like locusts, I think that our viewing ability was... altered quite a bit. Though I DO agree with you on the lack of revelations. Where the hell are those "secrets revealed" promised in the advertisements?

The secret is that there are no secrets! Just like in the new M. Night Shyamalan Avatar film, the twist ending is that there isn't a twist ending to book 1 (gasp!)

The Great Spirit buried in the sand? =P Though it may have been obvious to us, it probably still counts as a secret to the Bioteam.

I miss the days where we literally had NO clue what was going on in Bionicle. Like LOST, they should've kept the most fundamental secrets 'til the end. They did that excellently in the MU saga, but then Greg went bananas and spoiler'ed everything about the Shattering and Spherus Magna which could've been such an awesome plot twist if it had been revealed the way the Mata Nui titan was.

And by that, I don't mean in an Amazon video. =P

An Amazon-style video explaining the SpM->BaM+AqM+BoM split would've been awesome.

I've got and seen the movie, and I agree with most of the items said here, and the lower-par music has made me realize just how much the music of the first three movies mattered to me. I also found myself reminding myself that the movie is a CG cartoon, not a CG film like Pixar or Dreamworks films.

Overall, I think the movie was less rewarding, because there were too many themes such as knowing-your-opponent's-weaknesses, unity, teamwork, trust, etc, and storyline events that should be major such as defeating the Skrall and uniting the villages only took a few minutes compared to other, less important events.

Also, the villainous rock tribe and bone hunters that had been made so awesome in the first half of the year are portrayed as grunting and squealing beasts, taking back-seat to the traitor, who's identity misdeeds, intentions and identity weren't obvious until the end of the film, and even then, the misdeeds and intentions seemed weak.

The end of the movie was expected, although the pose of the GS when reassembled suggests that he had crash landed onto the planet, sending robot parts everywhere, as opposed to having never been assembled. On a side note, it would've been so funny if Mata Nui had had that thought, linking it back to how he crash landed on AqM, with the only difference being that he was cushioned by water. The squeamish expression would've been priceless.

The point of Mata Nui's mission seems kind of weird now, because logically he should use the Ignika to give life to the GS and fuse his spirit to it in the process, and basing future years on finding another GS jump-starter would be sadly repetitive. My guess is that the Skrall symbol represents the maze to get into the GB fortress, to find out how to start the GS, defeat Teridax via deactivating that GS, as well as learning Mata Nui's true purpose and mission. Come to think of it, a year based in the GB Maze would make for an awesome Greek Mythology themed year, especially with a Minotaur canister set. :sweet:

Finally, what I really want to know is what that third symbol on the coin is. I hope BIONICLE is around long enough for that to become a significant storyline symbol.

That third symbol looks really familiar. I think it's been seen before in the MU, I just don't remember where . . .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the Bara Magna symbol? It can be seen at the Glatorian Arena game and on the banners of the Agori in the movie.

Just got the DVD.

Please, let me destroy Russian office of Universal ><

"Mentus' Revenge". MENTUS!!! Description is written horribly, and there's even a 'bonus' - small booklet showing all Summer 09 sets. Absolutely horrible descriptions.

And it only has Ukrainian subtitles. WTF?!

Please, somebody send me English subtitles, I want to understand everything without watching Russian version... Drunk Mata Nui's voice makes me sick.

No, Russian voice is drunk. Dorn's voice is AWESOME. I think I'll even change my ringtone to some of his phrases...

That's why I want subtitles - I don't want to watch localised version, I want to watch English one again. I just fear that I vould've missed something 'cause I'm not as good in understanding spoken English as written English.

Release dates are different for all countries. They're all listed on the official site, I believe. Looks like the US isn't the first oO

So, I've been addicted to this movie. Which is really sad becuase I can't tell if I actually like it or not. I've already watched it six or seven times, though.

I also noticed that the music is well composed, but in a lot of places it's chopilly edited. Unlike the first three, which were in my opinion better in many respects to this movie.

(I also noticed a musical callback to the original three (Specifically LoMN) when we're entering Mata Nui's waist connection place. There's a chord or two that really sound like a musical callback to the original three movies. Listen to it a few times, I'm sure you'll hear it.)

I wish I had that kind of time.

IMO, the music isn't really that amazing, as it's pretty much one theme played in different moods, aside from the Tessara theme, which is whackily out of place. I would've much preferred a Le-Koro/Jungle theme than that upbeat techno thing.

The music was really awesome in the first three movies, because it was proper orchestral music with a lot of different themes, making each piece unique. I absolutely love the Rahaga rescue Toa music, but I can't say that for any of the music in TLR.

Actually, that techno stuff was a major callback to MNOLG. The old Le-Koro theme sounded almost exactly like that.

Le-Koro had no techno, and this music was more of an upbeat funk with techno sounds, not techno rock.

Well, have you ever heard the Power Pack?? I have it, and the three songs sound like a techno version of a tribal beat, which is exactly what they are going for.

You guys should all listen to the Gurren Lagann sountracks if you want music that is reminiscent of the early days of Bionicle. Just be sure to ignore the tracks with a lot of singing (not because they're bad, but they probably won't remind you of anything from Bionicle besides the Piraka Rap).

As for the movie, the animation is actually worse than the previous two movies, and I'm not sure I like it at all. But I wasn't expecting much.

I have it too, but what I'm saying is that the Tessara theme has a different style to those songs, which I don't like.

A lot of people are saying the animation is worse but they don't really explain how so. I understand the backgrounds aren't as lively but the characters? Were you guys watching poor quality rips or something?

Also, that Tesara theme did sound like something from Gurren Lagann, lol.
