Nike2032 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I would PM you it, but your PM system isn't activated yet. That's a shame about the release date, it's really weird that you get it late, and Poland, Aus and NZ of all places get it early. How do you activate your PM system? Quote

Malum_King_Vorox Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 look this!!! http://odsiebie.com/pokaz/5172660---0f17.html is the intro of "Bionicle: The Legend Reborn"!!! (in polish ) Quote
Lemonardo 114 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 The worst part about the beggining is the first sentence. Translated into English it's "Some say that the end is only an unawakened beggining. My beggining was like that." I mean, this is some strange, pseudo-philosophical gibberish. I hope that this is only fault of Polish dubbers (Yeah, our dubbers suck. REALLY.) Also, Ackar has helluva lot of shields. Quote
KonguChan Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 the biblical comparison is real or a joke? (the snake thing) Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Lol... the music is painfully bad until we see the BM system. So is the animation, come to think of it. xD Love that beach, though... -Ikk Quote
Bfahome Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Mata Nui moves waaaaay too fast for a universe-robot. And also wtf not only does Aqua Magna have land masses, it shows the mask flying out of the galaxy. >_____> Quote
Front Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 The start of the movie did not impress me, but 30 seconds later everything was fine. Quote
KonguChan Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Mata Nui moves waaaaay too fast for a universe-robot.And also wtf not only does Aqua Magna have land masses, it shows the mask flying out of the galaxy. >_____> the best of all, Teridax triggers Ignika, it passes by several planets, then leaves the galaxy and after that big cosmic journey, he falls right next to Aqua Magna xD Quote
Toa Nuva007 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Mata Nui moves waaaaay too fast for a universe-robot.And also wtf not only does Aqua Magna have land masses, it shows the mask flying out of the galaxy. >_____> Ugh, did the movies makers not even take the time to check any of the story in the last 8 years? This whole movie is going to end up non-canon by the time it's done. Quote
Zarkan Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Man, as much as I love the intro, it's so incredibly out of sync with the storyline. I mean, look at all the things it got wrong: - landmasses on Aqua Magna - Av-Matoran are still in the Core - the Core looks like a fusion reactor - the island of Mata Nui is still covered in vegetation - Aqua Magna is not one of the three planets in the UDD system - etc etc etc Seriously, the old movies may have been boring and poorly animated and voiced (for the most part) , but at least they didn't mess with previously established material. I think it's safe to say that the movie isn't canon until the Ignika crashes into the sands of Bara Magna. Lol... the music is painfully bad until we see the BM system. So is the animation, come to think of it. xDLove that beach, though... -Ikk Eh? How is the animation any worse than what we've gotten before in Bionicle media? It's certainly not Ghost, but it's no flash animation either. And honestly, I think it's really hard to appreciate the music while it's overlayed on Polish dubs. Once we see the english version, I bet it will be a lot better. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I thought the music at the beginning was pretty epic. It was when he was in space that it sounded really lame. Them BM showed up and it was cool again. I'm a little irked that they messed the MU and SM up, but I'm glad they actually tried- I don't recall there ever being mention of the possibility of seeing the MU, so was incredibly glad to see some recap. If we ever see another glimpse into the MU again, I'd like Ghost to do it. Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Ugh. Video game graphics. Honestly, I can't even begin to understand why anyone on here is saying that the animation is better than the first three movies. The lighting is terrible, the textures are way off, and there's a complete lack of any atmospheric detail. (Objects that are miles and miles away should not be the same exact color and level of brightness! It makes the scale look ridiculous!) And, worst of all, the motion capture is awkward and static... In the first three movies, while the animation wasn't perfect, the atmospheric effects, "camera" angles, and the way the characters interacted with their environment gave a very effective illusion of movement through space. Just about every clip I've seen so far for this movie looks flat and unengaging. And I hate this half-assed motion capture technique they're using. In the first three movies, each character model was adjusted properly for each frame and it made for movement that was consistently decent and believable. The problem with motion capture is that, unless it's a well-rendered, realistic character interacting with actual actors (ie: Gollum), it looks stiff and awkward. (The fact that they kept the inhuman proportions of the sets for the movie only aggravates this.) This is a problem that's been known about since rotoscoping was invented (see the awkward movements of the rotoscoped jazz-walrus as compared to the fluid movement in the other, traditionally animated characters). It's especially bad when they show a character jumping six feet in the air or doing some acrobatic attack, because it's jarring to see the transition from realistic, believable movement to cartoony spinning through the air (Ackar does it twice in there). Bah. At least seeing Mata Nui's beach again was kinda nostalgic. Quote

First off, its FAR more set-accurate. Second, there's actual chipping, dirt and scrapes on the armour, third, in my personal opinion, it just looks less kiddy. Quote
Bfahome Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I also forgot to mention that the flipping bugged me too. Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I like the dirt and scrapes, but I'd rather they weren't so set-accurate. They ought to give them better proportions for the movie. Also, looking at that video again... I'm glad we're on a desert planet this year, because this studio doesn't seem to know how to animate water. Quote
Mesonak Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Alright...This may or may not be true, but I'm posting it anyways. I'm talking with a friend of mine right now who lives in Europe. He says he has The Legend Reborn and is watching it. He's graciously providing me with little tidbits and spoilers, which I will now post: SPOILER SPACE Mata Nui can apparently channel his mask's energy into his sword, which is why he made the cliff shatter. In the Great Beings' lab, they find a rock with the UDD symbol on it. The closer Mata Nui gets to it, the more his mask starts to glow. Tarix has only one blade. Thornax launchers shoot balls of energy. Kiina and Berix are kidnapped. Tuma's "wings" appear to be mechanical. Metus walks into the Roxtus Arena when Tuma and Mata Nui are fighting, clapping, and says "I could always pick a winner...Now put down your sword and shield. That's not a joke." And Mata Nui replies "So...You were the traitor all along!" Will be updated as he posts more things. MAJOR SPOILER, THE END OF THE LEGEND REBORN. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, DO NOT HIGHLIGHT THE AREA BELOW: SPOILER SPACE SPOILER SPACE SPOILER SPACE Mata Nui appears to kill Tuma. The Skrall flee the area, and the villages unite into one large village. Berix hands Mata Nui a gold medallion. In the middle of it is the Mata Nui robot. To the right of the robot is the UDD symbol. To the left of it is...THE BARA MAGNA SYMBOL. And on the back is the Roxtus symbol, which turns out to be a map to the maze, or so says Mata Nui. Then, he says the line from the voice clips on Bionicle.com, and it cuts to a shot of the Mata Nui robot. And that's the ending. (My source is taking screenshots for those who want them, including the medallion. And the Bara Magna symbol, whatever that is. So yeah, it looks like we're staying on BM next year. -Mesonak EDIT: Updated. Edited September 2, 2009 by Mesonak Quote
Brickus Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Alright...This may or may not be true, but I'm posting it anyways.I'm talking with a friend of mine right now who lives in Europe. He says he The Legend Reborn and is watching it. He hasn't posted any proof so he may be lying, but I'm still posting some things he says: SPOILER SPACE Mata Nui can apparently channel his mask's energy into his sword, which is why he made the cliif shatter. In the Great Beings' lab, they find a rock with the UDD symbol on it. The closer Mata Nui gets to it, the more his mask starts to glow. Brickthing Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Man, as much as I love the intro, it's so incredibly out of sync with the storyline. I mean, look at all the things it got wrong:- landmasses on Aqua Magna - Av-Matoran are still in the Core - the Core looks like a fusion reactor - the island of Mata Nui is still covered in vegetation - Aqua Magna is not one of the three planets in the UDD system - etc etc etc Seriously, the old movies may have been boring and poorly animated and voiced (for the most part) , but at least they didn't mess with previously established material. I think it's safe to say that the movie isn't canon until the Ignika crashes into the sands of Bara Magna. Although there are a couple of errors, the main one has been corrected by Greg - AM does not have land. For the other points: - From the looks of inside the area inside Mata Nui, it looks more like that area is inside the main stomach area cylinder, which could quite possibly be where the Av-Matoran went straight after Metru Nui. Although it doesn't adhere with the trends and rotation of the rest of the universe, it could definitely be a new cannon location. - The vegetation thing seems to be an artistic choice, because the luscious island would look way better than a barren burnt one, or simply Mata Nui's face like it was originally intended to be. Unfortunately, the artistic choice pretty much killed the Bohrok. - And the movie still doesn't show that AM is in the UDD system. For all those who think it is, you're mis-assuming Greg's quote. I doubt the movie makers where that misinformed that they went through the trouble to design the AM that the Ignika is seen leaving from, and make the blue-and-clearly-different-moon if they were supposed to be the same place. Overall so far, this movie only seems to be messing with the canon artistically, whereas previous movies have messed up storyline canon, such as Rahaga-copters. I still find it sad that despite all the artistic liberations they've made in the movie, they still stick to the basic model of sets when making filler characters, despite the Bara Magna comics going all out with custom and un-makable Agori like the good old days of the MNOG. ShaddowCroc Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I just saw the opening, and . . . Well, I guess it's not competely terrible. Mata Nui's awakening has absolutely nothing on what Ghost did. I guess it was fun to see Mata Nui's beaches and stuff, but the entire island was supposed to have been cleansed by the Bohrok, so there weren't supposed to be any trees or visible Wahis. The scenes set inside the MU weren't that bad, though Karda Nui by then was supposed to have been consumed completely by the energy storms. I liked seeing the generic Matoran so well animated, though. That part made me happy. The only thing I can say I HATE about this opening is every scene with robot Mata Nui. It just completely angered me to see how they ruined the Great Spirit's original form. I can't say the graphics were exactly terrible though. I will agree with whoever said these people don't understand lighting, though. That's completely true. Whew. I think that's my share of fanwank for the next week or so. At least until the actual movie comes out and/or somebody DVDRips it. (GO AUSTRALIANS, GO! WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU!!!) Quote
Brickthing Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 At least until the actual movie comes out and/or somebody DVDRips it.(GO AUSTRALIANS, GO! WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU!!!) I personally hope that doesn't happen, because if it does it would damage the sales of the DVD, and potentially reduce the quality of future films. You only have to wait two more weeks, and if that means better future movies. Quote

Also, looking at that video again... I'm glad we're on a desert planet this year, because this studio doesn't seem to know how to animate water. I dunno. It looked kind of reminescent of the MNOLG water which may or may not be a homage to old fans. So considering that, it's fine in my book. Quote

Nightmare Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I just couldn't resist this: Metus: "Who the heck ar--?" Mata Nui: "OUT OF THE CAR! NAO!" I'll post some captions when able. Before you ask, no, it's not out here where I live yet. Still, I'm going to buy it when it comes out. Quote
80 Dollar Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The whole movie just leaked a few days ago in English...I have only seen a few minutes of it but it looks great so far. The quality is not so good, so I shall wait until they release the DVD version here... Quote
