After enjoying a nice break after my last moc, i decided yesterday to start building the next one. so i figured id post a few pics. Its very early days and this is just a small section of my next port and one of the ships that will be there.

Looking very nice Port Builder Extroadinare! I really love your unique way of building. One suggestion I'd give is that you straighten up the stones on the end of the dock - as they are now, they are so random I'm suprised that they're even still standing! I'd straighten them up a little.

Otherwise, it looks great! We'll soon have to make an index for all your awesome port MOCs. :pir_laugh2:

Looks great and very promising Derfel! I really like the Medieval Market Village building style.

The ship looks also stunning so far. I like the colours and the round stern.

I wish you all the best and good luck with your new port!

Their GORGEOUS!!! And I don't say that to everyone! When I look at what you make, I can help but think that my stuff is crap compared to it. The house is so friken' realistic, and that ship is to die for! The rounded stern :pir-wub: Will it be a schooner? Again, a magnificent creation, I think it's realistic to say that you'll be seeing bits of your creations in my MOC's for a long time! :classic:

Thanks for the positive comments, they are allways much appreciated. I love building ports and i recently visited some in cornwall which are still pretty much untouched and have kept ther 17th/18th century look and feel. Great for inspiration! Here is an update pic showing how its coming along, still got a long way to go though!

More inspiration! I hope I am the first person to borrow one of your new looks. I need a T-shirt that says..."Derfel Cardarn Wanta Be!" The master is back. Looks great. The beach is fantastic. Can't wait to see it progress!

This is another great looking port. I really like how the sand is sloped instead of just flat. Are your other ports still together or do you take them apart to build the new ones?

Fantastic work, looks great!! :pir-oh3:

I like the way you are building the walls, very realistic, also the surface of the beach! And you didn't forget waves on the water! Wow!!

Looking forward to see the finished port and the ship which seems to get very pretty! :pir-cry_happy:

This is quite a fine LEGO depiction, you've managed to get a lot of detail into that bank there.

Looks great so far. The beaches sand is a great detail.. My favorite so far on this MOC. The building looks great so far as well. How large will this port be when completed? Its sure to be a great as your other ports. Keep it up!

One day when my port is finally complete I'll have the luxury of adding lots of small details like this. I have to get the thing built first before I can put the makeup on it.

-Super

P.S. You truly are a master of detail. BRAVO!
