Actually it's no real change at all. I do have some minor additional perks (such as being able to give other roots titles) but I won't be doing much more or less. The promotion is more of a convenience thing, and that's why no big deal was made of it. For some time I have been the most "powerful" non-root admin. (I feel like a wanker saying that... ) ...although I have to admit I liked "Walrus admin" better. So did I... I believe I can go back to it and keep the powers though. (I don't need the prestige. ) BTW, I love the new baby! Also, who is going to administrate those rowdy walruses now? That's still my job. I'm also in charge of trees now. Quote

"Root" is an old UNIX term that refers to having access to the root directory... which to do so you need to have full access to the system. The "root directory" is such named based on the file tree metaphor that sees directories as branches and thus the lowest level of files is "root". Thus, a "Root Admin" means that the user has all rights and/or permissions. Before I only had almost all rights and permissions... Or maybe just clamber onto a table and cry out "O Walrus, my Walrus" (reference to "Dead Poet's Society" for you youngsters out there)?!? Put on a short skirt while doing so and I'll be there.
