Rick Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 In this thread you can ask whatever you want and all your idea's will be going to the LEGO Group after the month has ended. Are you going to make a ranking of most suggested ideas? Are you going to describe a general direction of where AFOLs would like the Pirates line to go or are you going to pass on all suggestions in detail?
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 22, 2009 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 22, 2009 Are you going to make a ranking of most suggested ideas? Are you going to describe a general direction of where AFOLs would like the Pirates line to go or are you going to pass on all suggestions in detail? I will make like an official report containing a general direction the fans like for the Pirates theme and also a ranking of idea's. So if a most people want a certain set, it will be ranked as #1. I plan to include a top 10 this way. Basically I'll start by going through this thread, creating a list of all idea's and next list the number of requests for each idea. That will be my input for writing the report. We also had a similar thread like this one (mentioned in the first post of this thread) which I've got already analyzed. Also the input from that thread will be used for the report.
RocketClone Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Add on too my other post: A bluecoat battlepack (includes 4 bluecoats 2 horses and 1 cannon) a Islander stronghold (5 islanders,2 canoes,a couple of bows and arrows,2 pirates,1 boat) That is all!
Thee Pirate Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I own a lot of the new pirate sets, so I don't really want to see Bluecoats make a return just yet. Let's keep the redcoats for another year or so. A lot this has been said, but I suppose another voice will just re-enforce the ideas. New hair pieces/hats for Pirate/Civilian minifigs. A coulpe new weapons Ship for the Soldiers (maybe with a different combination of parts, like the CC did for Pirates I with different hats) A MMV type set for pirates and soldiers. To the person that said New Orleans inspired sets, I think that's genius! They could even make a Modular building or two that can be used in either a town or a port for the Pirates II line. I modified all three of my modular buildings to look kind of like New Orleans buildings for a diorama I've been working on. Side specific battle packs! I really don't need anymore Brickbeards. I already have around 20 of them. cannons on PAB for a reasonable price. Weapons and accessories packs, just like the good ol' days.
curtisrlee Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 1 a big imperial ship about same size as brickbeards bounty 2 a big port town 3 some smaller ships like renegade runner and crossbone clipper 4 more types of plume (i dont like the current "fire" type) 5 maybe some non-european type pirates (chinese or indian pirates for example) 6 1700 style wigs and stuff (make it some you can put a hat on the wig too!) 7 civillian and merchant ship and stuff
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 24, 2009 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 24, 2009 One more week before the deadline, so if you didn't share your idea's yet, don't wait too long or it will be too late.
Rijkvv Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Maybe a big treasure island, with a cave and a place to hide the treasure. Here is what I mean. I know there already have been islands, but I think none like the Playmobil one.
Captain Green Hair Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I'd like to see some villagers, maybe a port set with an inn and a ship supply store or something along those lines. A new stern piece would also be very welcome as the one from the BB does not do it for me.
muffinman42 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) i forgot to mention in my other post: more ships in diffrent sizes no more "bad" minifigures in the tic-tac-toe and chess. towns and civilians more pirate torsos more hat colours a ship-building set that contains the parts needed to build a ship (hull sections+bricks to link them, sails, masts, rigging, flags, ships wheels, cannons, windows, doors, a parrot and monkey and flag pieces for cannon hole covers) forts islands diffrent captains with there own flags. Imperial Governer Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Re-releases of legendary sets like Eldorado Fortress, Imperial Trading Post, and Black Seas Barracuda! Also I would like to see: The Bluecoasts take the stand next year! Imperial ships! Villages! More historical sets!
Admiral Pey Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Well, I'm new here and I thought about giving my ideas for TLG to take into mind. First off I think that there is, most likely, not a new faction included in the new wave of sets. Why? Because the Redcoats have not gained enough sets IMO, such as a ship. If TLG doesn't send in a new faction my whishlist includes the more common ideas: - An Imperial Ship, preferably the same size or a bit bigger as the ''Brickbeard's Bounty''. - Perhaps a better/bigger Fort to defend against Pirats. Or another base, but in any case a bit more fortlike. - Maybe some new clutter, such as carriages and maybe more horses? - More ships! - A bit less cartooney sails an decoration. However, if they do send in a new faction, I would like something like: - A trade-based faction, similair to the VOC, with it's own troops and ships. Perhaps an Imperial subfaction? And a base like the Imperial Trading Post. - As I mentioned, more subfactions, to give some variety to the Pirats. Onw ships/flags/sail designs, ect. - More variety in the troops of the Imperials, only soldiers, a luitenant/captain and a Governor seems a bit too less IMO, I would say, add different ranks and regiments. - A third party, as in a new nation to fight, both the Pirats aswel as the Redcoats. About the Bluecoats: If the do make them, please not just a reverse colour of the Redcoats. I think that would be a little too simple. So a new design on them would be appropriate. Well, that's about it. Otherwise it's a nice new line anyway. Admiral Pey -Edit- Oh I almost forgot: New types and colours of epaulettes! Or an other ranking system as mentioned. domboy Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Only only have a couple suggestions. - I don't like the look of the one piece palm tree in 6242 Soldier's Fort (I don't actually own it), so I would like to see the return of the brick-built older style palm tree, and include it in more sets. - Less stickers, especially on wall pieces (prefer the printed wall plate pieces regardless of theme) - As many have said, a few smaller ships would be nice, for those on a tighter budget Edited August 26, 2009 by domboy
Legoking Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Well, it would be really cool if TLC make some type of red coat ship. Or, if TLC could re-make the blue coats. I am sure everyone would love that! LegoKing
Commodore Hornbricker Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Just curious if our ambassador has heard if/when we might see any new pirate sets?
Rick Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just curious if our ambassador has heard if/when we might see any new pirate sets? I think 'if' is answered positively by the mere fact that this thread exists. 'When' is likely to be confidential to not help the competition bring out sets at the same time.
JimBee Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I haven't read the past ten pages, so excuse me if this has been said before... Something village-y. Perhaps a pub, a market street, or some houses. Possibly even a dock with a few shops. Also, modular additions to Soldier's Fort would be nice.
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 27, 2009 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 27, 2009 I haven't read the past ten pages, so excuse me if this has been said before... It doesn't matter if something has been said/requested before. The more requests for a certain set/item, the higher it will end in the final list I'll be making. 4 more days and this thread will be closed!
Captain Green Hair Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I'd also like to see a Dutch faction, as they ruled the seas for the longest time in the golden age. Such a great nation it is.
Wouwie Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I'd also like to see a Dutch faction, as they ruled the seas for the longest time in the golden age.Such a great nation it is. I don't like it, but I need to agree with you I would also like to see some things with the Dutch Red-White-Blue flags on them! But I also wouldn't say no to an upgraded Eldorado or Imperial Trading Post!
Captain Zuloo Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I too would love to see a VOC faction! My list would be: VOC Faction Imperial Faction Islander Faction Modular harbour to connect to the mudular fort Larger fort Large exclusive ship Imperial ship Smaller pirate ship Large imperial ship Treasure ship Battle packs Individual elements available on PaB and LDD
Rick Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) It doesn't matter if something has been said/requested before. The more requests for a certain set/item, the higher it will end in the final list I'll be making. Make sure to keep track of multiple post by the same person. In case you do a bad job at this: I want an S@H Pirate exclusive (1) ship with multiple decks and (2) port. But seriously, overall I think a clear picture is starting to emerge. I'd also like to see a Dutch faction, as they ruled the seas for the longest time in the golden age.Such a great nation it is. I don't really see (and maybe also I don't want) Lego making something that clearly associates with one nation. But something in the spirit of the VOC trading company would be great. Merchant ships, civilians... Edited August 27, 2009 by Rick
Rijkvv Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I also want to see less cartoony sails. And better designed yards. I think the design of Brickbeard's Bounty is weak and not very realistic, yust look at the ships of the first Pirates theme, I think they look much better.
Teddy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) My two cents would be: 1-an imperial exclusive two decker ship on s@h. 2-less cartoony sails 3-a larger imperial base/fortress (preferably star shaped ) Edited August 27, 2009 by Teddy
Jesper Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) I've asked the members of the Danish LUG "Byggepladen" (The Baseplate), and these ideas came up: Soldiers Fregate = Big ship for the Imperials to fight Brickbeards ship Port Royale = Minor civillian ship , a warehouse and a couple og soldiers - a little like the old Imperial trading post, but more civilian. A little carriage would also be welcome. Pirate's Inn = A little inn with a couple of pirates, a bartender, a monkes and a parrot. And of course mugs with grog on the table and some barrels and packing cases. Port Royale and Pirate's Inn should be build on some kind of a pier (like the new 6242 Soldiers Fort), so that they can be put together to a little town/habour enviroment - something we missed in the old Pirate series. Big palm-island with a big cave for the pirates to hide the treasure. Shipyard Harbour Something like this (from the LEGO Idea-book #260): Small Pirate Boat Small Fort (reminds me a little of LEGOLAND Billunds Fort Smaller sets for a new wave could be - a soldiers turret - like the old and charming 6265 Sabre Island - natives in a canoo - pirate in rowboat with a treasure chest who has arrived a little island with some natives The natives can get some bigger sets in the next wave Edit: Could someone fix the pics, please.
