Hound Knight Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 First off we have the U.S.S. Patriot, a Bluecoat ship, commanded by yours truly. Next up, the H.M.S. Gargoyle, a Redcoat treasure ship. And now something completely different! A frontier fort commanded by the LEGENDARY Governor Broadside. Comments? Suggestions? Recommendations even? Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 But...But...I thought you were my first mate! You were supposedd to be on my Redcoat ship of the line! Quote

Joey Lock Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Um... I felt somewhat un-patiotic... I can still be your First mate though? Hmm, I may need to wipe up a treaty with the United States of America. So, you could become the brand-spanking new "Admiral Hound Knight of the United States of America" as we fight against the French and Dutch Bluecoats. Quote
Sir Gecko Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I too thought you were a redcoat. Oh well. I like your boats. :) Quote
General Armendariz Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 So far, nice job I am so happy your going for Bluecoats also Once I finish my Frigate, you shall be with me crew Quote

Sir Wellington Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Very nice Boats and the fortress is superb! Quote
the_green_avenger Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I would reccomend that you build a nice small ship much like these two, but try and make a hull with standard lego bricks like mine. Other than that, those ships are looking really good! I can never get very good color schemes when I build with lego, and you seem like you might have a sugestion for the color scheme of my new ship in the link I gave you. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Your ships look great so far! Some suggestions though: I would place another sail on the Bluecoat ship, right beneath the other one since there's a bare mast now. Adding some ropes would add a lot of detail. The cabin looks nice and the stern too. Perhaps a big flag at the stern or gaff sail is a good idea too. The Redcoat ship: Also a very nice one! I would add some more red to the black squariness stern gallerie. Secret: your stern gallery technique looks VERY similar to the technique I use for the galleries on the Fourageux... Otherwise, great job so far! The fort: Looks great in my opinion, a few more details would be great and adding some foliage and nature will make it even more great. Quote
Rick Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Nice work, I like the back-view of the Bluecoat ship. I don't really like the look of those two 'door-halves'. Perhaps if you let the rotate the other way around it looks better. Or make one door out of it and place it off-centre to one side and put a window next to it. Or center it and put some decoration on both sides. Quote
Admiral M Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I agree with Rick, the half doors look out of place. I'd put them together, and I think it would look better. The fort looks great, I think I'll have to steal from you! Hmmm... this might not go over so well with President Jefferson. He's planning to purchase land from Napoleon you know. What better way to win fame and glory than to conquer it yourself! Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) What better way to win fame and glory than to conquer it yourself! Yes, American Revoulution, After, The American Revoultion! If not, Then Im afraid, for the sake of my ship, and the sake of the Redcoat Empire...You must be removed from the Redcoat Navy... EDIT: Also, Do you not realise that the British own at least half the world. You dont need to buy overpriced land from Napoleon. Edited August 7, 2009 by Joey Lock Quote
martinsuper Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 The fortress is superb, I would like to see it expanded, finished, and a main gate added. Also, towers on the corners would look nice. I like the idea of rock and wood on top, mind if I use it? -Super Quote

Joey Lock Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Very well. *sigh* So, you will not accept the offer of Victory, Glory and Land? Quote

But if he were to buy land from the British near the states...That would mean he'd have to buy Canada! Traitor! Ahem. Nice work on the ships and fort, Hound Knight, even if you're trying to betray us. Quote
Apache Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Cool, don't know how I missed these. The Red Coat Treasure ship is my favorite, I can't wait to see it in a broadside moc with your ship. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Thanks! Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "gaff sail"? Thanks for the suggestions as well. That's a gaff sail: Quite important sail as well, it makes it much easier to steer the ship. It also makes the mizzen mast less bare. Hope that helps! Quote

Joey Lock Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Oh, ok thanks! I always wondered what that sail was called and used for! Quote
