martinsuper Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 You and I are going to be going on and on about our ports for year's indeed! I really like the 75 degree slopes because most of the forts built in the time period were very close to that angle. I will buy all dark gray slopes sometime in the next year and remove the cheeckering. I just had to order another 500 barrels to finish the docks the way I want. So, that takes precedence first. I will post more as time allows. -Super Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Wow Super, your port is growing by the day i see! I really like the new fort and the way the whole thing is layed out. All the ships in there are great as well! The only thing i don't really like is the black and white poles with the rope bridges in between, looks a bit strange to me. Quote

I wanted them to match the lighthouse. #2. I had the bricks to do it. -Super Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Great Port! and for most, it's very big I think it's very save for a ship to go there. It has a lighthouse (with nice bridges) and a strong fort. I also like the way you've build the brown dock-part, really inspiring. The whole thing could only use some more details, but it's very impressive already Quote
martinsuper Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Thanks for the comments so far. Like I said earlier, its a work in progress. I have rebuilt several aspects three or four times since I took these pictures. My main goal for this year is to at least get the general layout done so I can take some more time for adding detail, and working in some items a little better. I have rebuilt sabre island at the end of the dock six times now only to decide I liked it better the first way I did it. I managed to incorporate several other sets, including both of my soldier's fort. More than anything, I just need to get the dock done. I'm almost there, I just need to link it up with the other side. I have 500 barrels on the way, so I really think that will do the trick. As I finish or modify more, I will add more pictures. -Super Quote
z_zadar Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Wow, excellent real-size port!!! Your scaling is fantastic, and everything looks great. Yes, few more details should be great, because of big area the MOC, some pars looks a little empty and repetitive, but surely it is the great size to match the ships. You know, few fishermen on the pier, or some ivy on the lighthouse, or something like that. I will keep my eye on this great MOC. Quote
Big Cam Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 The size is just amazing, great work. I love large MOC's, they blow me away. Quote
