(I hope this is in the right forum, if not, let me know, but it seemed to fit....)

I have an old Lego mini-sword, (from before when the shiny great-swords were made....)

The odd thing about it is, it is black!

I do not know from what set it is from, because my older brother (who I got all my old castle/space sets from)

never kept boxes or instructions. :cry_sad:

I looked through the Lego collectors guide, but did not see any black mini-swords pictured....

if any-one knows anything about this sword, please let me know!

Are you refering to this? It's like a production slip or prototype. If this is it the chrome probaly came off.

Yes, I have the set and sword. It's this one;

More proof Peeron is better then BL.

the sword is like the first, but black- no "chrome" is scraped off. my brother did take care of his toys, no chewing on legos etc.

...wow fast reply! thanks.

The first one(short sword) was never made in chrome. I take care of mine as a AFOL and the chrome on the handle still comes off sometimes. I also believe the sword is in the top banner, it could be dark gray. Sinner(and I refuse to use his new name) is probaly right.

I just ordered a black shortsword in an ebay lot. It's quite rare and only came in that one set. It's a little lego treasure! :classic:

Probably?

Does this help?

I think Peeron is better, but BL is generally updated sooner... for obvious reasons. Thus I use BL for new sets, and Peeron for the older ones.

It's really odd that TLG never put it in second set... :cry_sad:

LEGO is an odd company. That happens to a lot more parts if you search bricklink etc.

What? I thought this was the show-us-your-black-sword thread.

 Nice pic.

Important reminder While EB is an adult site, please be clear that we are talking about LEGO here. Some black swords don't belong on EB.

Thanks guys, now i want one too! :hmpf_bad::laugh:

That can be arranged quite easily, after all these swords are sold on Bricklink for a minimal amount of money: you can already get one starting from 'just' $6,50. :oh3: Of course if you want a new one it'll cost you only 19,95, so it seems... :look:

Sure why not! (I  swords)

...also, I have the pitchfork, (I found what sets it's in) and I used to have 3 gray round shields with the stud in the middle,...

...until a tragic accident in the middle of the night.... :pir_bawling:

lego shield + foot = pain and eternal torment (the torment of destroying a rare iconic Lego......)

also, a friend of mine said he had a Lego great-sword with a green jewel in the pommel....

...said it was from some king Arther set, or something. I have never heard of any Lego sword with a jeweled pommel.

I think it was a (forgive me!) whisper: meg@#!*K.

If I am wrong, then I would like to know, but even though he does have the very first Lego yellow-brick castle....

...he doesn't know his bricks like I do...

My probaly and your probaly are two totally different probalies.

The difference being that the pitchfork's usefulness extends beyond mere bragging rights  . The black sword is a nice accessory, but it's just a sword. The pitchfork while far more common is also pretty useful. I lost the my black sword when I was but a lad. I got over it. I broke one of my pitchforks about 15 years ago and I'm still trying to recover  .
