What's the difference between the two anyway, besides quick edit loading inline and full edit opening up an edit-page?

edited with quick edit: If it speeds things up, get rid of it :cannon:

edited with full edit: alright, I see, you have all the options available with full edit

How about killing off 'Quick-Edit' as well :pir_kiss:

 There's no option for that! (The fact that there's an option to disable a feature is often a bad sign.) To remove QuickEdit I'd need to be more drastic... besides, aside from its bugs I don't mind it.

Quick edit has less options and no preview.

And it screws with special characters in posts.

The pirate forum does load slowly for me despite having a good connection, but it's just as fast as the rest of Eurobricks, so I'm assuming it's just that EB is slow for me. Where is Eurobricks hosted? (Geographically)

On my side it is loading very fast as always. I did also check our servers log and it's running at optimal performance. We didn't have any speed issues since our last upgrade a few months ago. Our server is located in Germany. It has a lot of memory and a disk raid array (raid 5), which means all data is spread over several disks for better performance and speed.

This is nothing new, it has just always loaded relatively slowly for me in comparison to other sites. Roughly how long does it take you to load up a specific forum and what speed connection do you have Siegfried?

Siegfried? Have you been drinking Zuloo?

I suggest you move away from your prison island and come to live somewhere closer to Germany, that should make a difference.

I wonder if Siegfried has the same slowness. He also lives on your island

Poor guys, stuck on their island...

Seriously, I've never experienced any slowness at all on Eurobricks, but I'm much closer to the server location. I wonder whether the connections from Europe to Australia are as 'wide' as they are to the US.

Actually I don't like the option. To pull that trick it pre-loads the editor, even if it's not used. :sceptic: I'm tempted to disable it forum wide...

I guess i wont be asking my question then.

I was going to say why not change the settings to allow it in other forums, but nevermind :cry_happy:

I'm the News Coordinator of Classic-Pirates.com - of course I've been drinking!

But seriously, I just worded my post badly. The question was aimed at the walrus even though I had also quoted you.

Germany...that explains a few things.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

No thanks. I like quick edit for if I notice a simple mistake and wish to fix it QUICKly.

Yeah, except it tends to mess-up your posts.

Especially if you've used symbols like #,",',! and so on.
