jonwil Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Damn, why is it that no airline flying to, from or within Australia ever gets the airline promos :( To get one I would need to fly to Europe THEN fly on some European airline then fly back to Australia. Or pay exorbitant prices on Bricklink :( Quote

Legoliner Pilot Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 The Lufthansa web site says they do fly out of the land of Oz ! I got mine on a flight from Miami to Munich. It's only on the longer flights, though... Quote

Or pay exorbitant prices on Bricklink :( Yes because taking random plane flights around hoping to find the set for sell wouldn't cost an exorbitant ammount. It's January 9th-10th and I like how we are all talking about how 2011 will have terrible police sets! For all we know maybe they will release horrible Police sets this summer! I'm still hoping for a hospital that isn't a joke. Quote
metalandi Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) I must say i'm pretty disappointed with the passenger plane. Just had a look at the instructions, and saw it has no interior at all, except seats and the controls in the front. The little car that comes with it looks pretty nice, though. I found book 1 &2 of the airport instruction aswell, couldn't find the one for the airport itself, though: Luggage Car: http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4585184.pdf Plane: http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4585186.pdf I like this plane much better than the 3181 Passenger plane Edited January 10, 2010 by metalandi Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Hey 'Metalandi' where did you find them ? Just went and looked in 'airport' listing on downloads in Lego Cust. Service, not there ! Lucky you eh ? Quote
metalandi Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 You can find most of them if you simply enter the set number in the search field. Also, they have a feature now on brickset.com, that links you directly to the instructions, that's where i found the 2 books from the airport. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Thank you 'Metalandi', I should have thought of Brickset myself. Now we only need the airport instructions I can design a heliport for my town. Quote
jonwil Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Looking at the airport instructions we have, you can see that the set has 5 minifigs with the female having what looks like a new torso (in dark bley I think) plus another use of the "Hawaiian shirt" torso. You can also see the piece inventory in the airplane instructions. Interesting pieces: Hawaiian shirt torso New female torso 4 x 4 plate with 2 x 2 hole in the middle 2 x 4 tile in white and red 1 x 3 tile in red new 1 x 1 with the stud on side (not the headlight brick, the new one) in white and red new 6-wide half-cylinder piece in white new green garbage bin some nice trans-light-blue Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Sorry, 'Jonwil', but this part..... 4x4 plate with 2x2 hole etc, was used first in this... Yeah I know it's Star Wars, but that was the first place it was used. Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I like the plane in the airport much better- just look at that cockpit detail! Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) 3182 Plane interior: Beautiful control console in the center...look at those throttle levers! Edited January 10, 2010 by Legoliner Pilot Quote
Piranha Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The Plane in the airport does have a much better interior than the separate passenger plane! Inside the cabin the seating is ok, nothing amazing, a TV would have been nice. But the stewardess area is brilliant! I like these larger planes despite that they seemed awkward, when compared to others, after all planes in real life are huge Quote
Rick Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 That interior looks nice. But why did they have to use that large one-piece set of wings again. I hate it most because it messes up the interior. Quote

For all we know, it may just be a Creator House or a basic bricks box. Quote

For all we know, it may just be a Creator House or a basic bricks box. While I have no other concrete evidence, previous information from the South Africa website (now seemingly removed) indicated that 8403 is under City theme specifically, not Creator or Brick and more theme. So I think we stand a better chance to have a belated return of a minifig-dwelling house this time. Quote
Rick Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Well, at least it they use it for something good this time around. The tables are good, however it still cuts through the aisles. While I have no other concrete evidence, previous information from the South Africa website (now seemingly removed) indicated that 8403 is under City theme specifically, not Creator or Brick and more theme. It's "in between" (8403) the City car of last year (8402) and the TRU City Exclusive (8404), so it's virtually certain its not a house-building box of bricks. Quote

I know that usual pattern. More fundamentally, if we don't trust the information on the South Africa website at all, we'd better forget the rumoured existence of 8403 and 8404 because the South Africa website has been the only origin suggesting there will be 8403 and 8404 (and they were both disclosed as under the City theme) so far as far as I know. Anyhow, most importantly, I am NOT the one not trusting 8403 will be a City theme set! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 There is already a new Creator house out early this year. And the older sets are still sold. So another one would make not much sense. Plus having a set number of a Creator house between set numbers of City sets would be strange. I'm really surprised what'll be included in the City House set. It seems to be smaller than the City Life set since the price mentioned on that African website was about 20 percent lower. If it's an "only"-apartment house I hope it'll come without house number so that you can place severals next. Unluckily we will very supposably firstly see some pics in late spring (like with last year's Wind Turbine Transport). Klaus-Dieter Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 One of my sources has told me something that 'Klaus-Dieter' may cry with joy ! This City house could possibly be based on the creator house of last year and can be made single or double storey. Sadly the person who told me this was only going by memory as her boss had taken the book to another store, but she was sure it said CITY and it looked like a house. I'll try to get more information if I can. I'm a conformist! !! Quote
Zorbas Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I called the official brand store here in Greece today and they told me that they expect the new 2010 sets tomorrow. Seaplane and smart car, welcome to my collection! Quote
