BIG PROBLEM - Having contacted Lego Australia and TRU Australia - the only special TRU product this year is 7848 TRU Truck !

No flag ship set !!!

I have sent an email to TRU (USA) to see if I can get an answer from there !

Has anybody else have better luck !

Really?? I hope that's not true, they need to get more Exclusives in, maybe Myers or DJ will bring some out.

Im glad I bought two of the Flagships when they first came out. Paid a mint though. $300 for one shipped. >.<

Well, still hoping the TRU here in USA will carry that big exclusive.

Also, that Exclusive ill no doubt be on S@H anyways.

It's really cruel of TLG that they didn't reveal the Fan's Choice set at NY Toy Fair! :angry:

Everyone was looking that much forward to NY Toy Fair to see the Fan's Choice set - but TLG didn't present it there. :thumbdown:

The only argument I could imagine why TLG didn't release it is that the possible truck stop didn't get that many positive feed-back when the rumour of it appeared. So maybe they decided to release the Public Transportation Center or City Square instead - but need now time to finalise one of them (since they originally didn't plan to release it). :sceptic:

Even all the new Train sets weren't shown. The only new sets of the second half of 2010 they presented there were the Lego Truck and the Farmer Impulse. The last years always all summer sets (apart from the hard to find items like CG Platform and Wind Turbine Transport) were shown there. :cry_sad:

What's the matter with Lego?! :wacko:

That isn't very plausible. The fact that a couple of AFOLs here don't like the truck stop isn't likely to affect their decisions. Moreover, the lead times for designing, producing, and distributing such a set are simply to long.

Even all the new Train sets weren't shown. The only new sets of the second half of 2010 they presented there were the Lego Truck and the Farmer Impulse. The last years always all summer sets (apart from the hard to find items like CG Platform and Wind Turbine Transport) were shown there.

Maybe the release of 8403 and 8404 are simply delayed until August (which should also see the release of the train sets) and TLG has only shown sets until June (or so) at the NY Toy Fair.

Well I did the chasing this afternoon, spoke to TRU first, they are only expecting in July shipment for August release their TRU truck. Lego Australia backed it up with the same data, with no word or even a listing for 8404 fans choice - but I know from other sources that Lego can pop something in a few days notice. That's happen with a Star Wars USC walker a few years ago. So keep hoping !

Besides maybe this might be a USA general release only and also available through S@H - hope not because the whole world could vote on it back late April !

It's too late, people voted so negative feedback over a truck stop wouldn't stop them from releasing it, they are already probably producing the pieces for the set.

It's all very very weird when they said they would reveal it during the voting... very odd.

Same with the Trains, maybe the Trains are exclusives and saw no need to show them? Maybe LEGO and TRU are fighting (I hope so) and therefor the special TRU set is on hold.

The question is whether the Truck Stop option really got the majority of all votes (at least from AFOLS I bet that it didn't get the majority of all votes) or whether TLG simply decided to release the Truck Stop because of some strategies.

If the Fan's Choice set is firstly released in June/July/August then it's still a long time until then. And TLG surely did desgin minimum one preliminary version for every of those three voting options before they set up the poll on TRU.

Maybe the release of 8403 and 8404 are simply delayed until August (which should also see the release of the train sets) and TLG has only shown sets until June (or so) at the NY Toy Fair.

Well, you might be right.

The strange thing is that TLG showed the new Train sets at Nuremberg Toy Fair. So if they wouldn't like to show all City sets released later than June then they would not have had to shown the Train sets there, too.

That's all really strange. :sceptic:

I hope that one of our ambassadors can and will clarify this confusion.

Some of the comments here are just facepalm worthy.

Anyways, Maybe they're just trying to keep a tight, tight lid on things. Take Grand Emporium which wasn't exactly revealed to the general public until very recently, and it's official sale is set for next month with some already getting early copies right after the reveal.

This will be more unpredictable when they reveal it, and I like it. We had clues about how Grand Emporium would look like when there weren't official images yet, that it would look like the old Macy's/Harrods type of department store with tan walls, ice cream vendor etc... But this mythical exclusive, we really don't even know what it would be. Truck Stop only seemed to be a general consensus but no one really knows for sure.

TRU Exclusive only means it won't be sold on other large chains like Wal-Mart, Target or any other big stores. The green Cargo Plane was a TRU Exclusive, for example.

It differs from country to country whether which sets are regulars sold, are only hard to find items or Exclusives and where they are Exclusives.

In some countries it'll perhaps only be available via TRU, in others only via S@H etc. But I think it's safe to say that the Fan's Choice set will appear in every bigger country anyway.

The point was when we did the voting last spring LEGO said that the set would be shown at the NYC Toy Fair in 2010, that ended yesterday. We didn't even get the new train pictures and I was hoping we would because the ones we have aren't that great.

:grin: That would be very funny if it would be true that indeed LEGO got such a backlash for announcing the Truckstop as the winner they canceled and went with one of the other 2 options :grin:

This was on my mind too when they said the Truckstop won, did it really? Or did LEGO disregard and go with what they wanted. I am not saying they did do such a thing. Makes me think of other conspiracies like the moon landing. :tongue:

I would not be surprised, if by the end of 2010 we got our 4 Trains and the City Exclusive. :classic:

The Train sets are coming out somewhere in the world this year. What is LEGO going to do release 3 sets for City in the Summer? City is one of their best selling themes in the USA.

Nothing yet - not a word from TRU or Lego - could something be up, a problem or a rethink on when to release details, who knows. The power of one doesn't seem to be working at the moment, it's a worry - like also not showing trains in New York, odd ?!

If I do find out anything I will post it here !

Maybe we should make a separate topic about the alleged TRU exclusive for everyone to say "Hmmm I wonder..." in? :laugh:

In all seriousness, it's a bit of a bother to check this topic every so often for news and see all this talk about the status of this exclusive that may or may not exist.
