I don't think the Fire 4x4 will come with a boat. In the description on the Czech website it only said it would include a 'field fire truck'.
Agreed. Lego never has shown us a partial set. And besides, there is no hitch for a boat trailer, nevermind the fact that Lego always puts boats w/ fire engines (Don't ask me why)

Wow, I take a little week of holidays and there are 2010 sets pics everywhere! About the City ones I must say I'm a bit disappointed, specially with the <insert that tiresome argument> parts as some people says and the fire dpt. ones :sceptic: but I suppose this is what happens when you've been following Lego for such a long time...

In the other hand I find really interesting the truck with the pigs (well, for being honest I was expecting something more like a real truck instead of a tractor and a little farm but it's really useful for expanding the 2009 farm  ) and the Octan Truck (another classic set uptated! :classic:) I'll wait better pics and a proper review but I think I'll catch these two :sweet:

Do I spot this piece? (bottom left corner of the box, on the corral)

* Holding laptop 5 cm from eye *

I feel crazy arguing over 10 x 10 pixels, but I guess its a jumper plate with a tap piece.

Yep, you were right. Still, the set looks interesting with 4 pigs and a farmgirl.

I can't understand why is it that in the same theme (LEGO City), TLG will come up with some nice sets such as the little yellow seaplane and the little farm with pigs and a tractor compare to two <insert that tiresome argument> sets like the airport and fire station. The airport looks like it belongs to another theme all together. I understand that TLG targets kids when creating sets but the difference between a couple sets in the same theme is huge... No standard there. :-(

How is the Fire station and Airport <insert that tiresome argument>? They both have good detail in there own right. I don't see any big pieces other than the windows, and those can not be classified as <insert that tiresome argument>.

I think he is trying to say that most of the airport is made out of [once again] big glass panels.

By the way, why did they make the airport look like it belongs on the street or downtown? :sceptic:

Because that's where most of those with LEGO cities will put it.

I'm of course referring to the fact that most LEGO cities I've seen have all the buildings crammed along one or two streets.

But I don't think the airport is that bad, it's quite in style with the City Corner set. Of course those of us who are already used to the huge modular houses these low-price City buildings don't look like much.

...

To be fair most real airports tend to comprise of acres of glass panels. A Lego Airport Set is never really going to look realistic. To attempt a MOC would be big project. I would actually quite interested in the set if does not include the red airplane, because glass panels are very usefull in all sorts of circumstances.

in my opinion this is the best city airport ever!

10159-1.jpg

it has a runway a good interior nice little vehicles lots of minifigers and it isnt just 6 huge glass pieces stack on topo of each other.

it has a unique design and architecture.

and lego has proven to us that they CAN make a great plane that it isnt <insert that tiresome argument>

7628-1.jpg

with brick built front tail and wings a great landing system and with good detail..

the new airport with the "new" plane are far too <insert that tiresome argument>.

i mean the basic pieces of that plane are how many? 8?

and the airport, like the last one has no runway.

the city corner set was a great example of what TLG can do for city

i dont know what went wrong but it aint pretty!

also this rescue helicopter from 2006

7903-1.jpg

is far more detailed and not <insert that tiresome argument> compared to the fire helicopter..

Yeah, I would have bought both this and the last airport just for parts if they didn't include the planes and were $30-40 less.

I agree, but even this set has several flaws with its building. There are big gaps in the roof and side wall of the left section, and it's too small as usual. Even at Lego scale, airport buildings should be at least as big as the large police stations, like 6398 and 7744. Still, it comes with a lot of other great stuff that makes up for it.

Nice I love the classic sink piece!!

I also agree that the airport pic posted (from 2006 legend) originally 1992 I think, is the best LEGO airport

However since building styles change that one would fit in perfect with all the other buildings of that era

I think LEGO could have done a better job by including base plates and runway printed base plates

The airport isn't great I really just don't like the look or style of it

I notice LEGO likes to use garage doors a lot in the new City sets, I wonder why they didn't in the new airport?

I agree, I still wish I bought the Legend of it a few years back. For $100 it's truely great.

However with the newer HUGE planes there can't be a runway, which is fine, but doe that mean the airport building itself can't just be a flat fronted building?

Sadly I don't think it is this piece. It's more like a grey version of the 'tap' used for the chicken vendor's ketchup and mustard bottles. A shame though, this piece is much better than the horrible taps they started using for the Harry Potter sets.

Yes, this is a great set, possibly one of my all time Top 10 favourites. I was hoping the next airport to be released was going to be an island airport (with palm trees, etc) to tie in with a Paradisa-style beach city subtheme, perfect for recreating the perfect sunny holiday for any minifigure!

Your guess (and mine) is confirmed by a recent higher res image (its a jumper plate with a new 1 x 1 tap).

That airport is underwhelming for me, just doesn't have that classic airport feel to it; like others have said most airports aren't just one building, they should have spread it out some and added a few more details most all airports have (baggage claim, metal detector, etc.). However I do like the girl minifig (is that a new head?).

The pig tractor is awesome, I'm just afraid TLG will try to charge us an exorbitant price just because there are 4 pigs which I'm sure will be sold for a decent amount on Bricklink.

Thanks for the pics, ForceMaster! I'm really beginning to love that 3180

That is the Indy Jones Marion head in yellow.:sweet:

Yep. I wonder if it would be two-faced too  BTW, doesn't her torso look a bit too like a decal? :look: I suppose that's because it's just a prelim model.

I saw a catalogue for 2010- There will be two impulses from City theme- Farmer- Dog, Pig, farmer (normal green clothes like farmer) and little place for pig food, and some brick for food, and traveler- minifig with push-cart, two suitcases, camera (finnaly in small set!). Both are awesome!

The photos have not been removed. I've asked him to put link instead of images.

There were several thousands visitors - and most of them had cameras, so it's not possible to ban something. Just a more polite way.

I think we'll be able to put kind of review about the fest soon and post it at EB.

Thank you very much for these links to the pics, ForceMaster! :classic:

These two Impulse sets sound really good!

I'm a bit disappointed that TLG doesn't design a second torso for the farm theme since it's getting a bit strange to have that many people working on your farm which all where the same clothes. But nevertheless it's great to get a farmer Impulse set with an extra piglet and a traveler as an Impulse set.

Is the traveler a male or female traveler and what does he or she wear?

Btw: Have you seen pics of the Small Car, the Repair Vehicle and the Minifigures, too, and can describe them to us? That would be very nice!
