Rick Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 It could (I know nothing more than you guys do, if anything less than Wout at least) still be part of a Creator set, although those vehicles are usually simpler in design. If you look at this picture, you see that the Racers sets were displayed close to the Creator sets. Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 If you look through the windshield you can see a round black object, which I presume to be a steering wheel. Quote
MetroiD Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I must agree with Rick here. The picture you guys have been showing and commenting on most definitely does not look like an official stand-alone set. More likely, it's part of a bigger set, and with the design, I'd put my money on that being a Creator set. Quote
Rick Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) If you look through the windshield you can see a round black object, which I presume to be a steering wheel. Indeed, that's what confuses me as well... that makes it almost certainly not a Racers nor a Creator set (or do Creator sets have steering wheels?). But it also doesn't really fit in with recent City sets as it uses relatively small wheels and 1 x 4 arches as mudguards. Moreover Wout describes a different set. I guess we'll just have to be patient to get a definitive answer. Edited September 28, 2009 by Rick Quote

Creator sets that are vehicles usually don't have a cockpit to put a minifigure in, or are not to minifigure scale. I agree with the point that it uses really small wheels and 1x4 arch mudguards. Perhaps it could be the small car? Quote

Well, if you know an owner of a toy shop you can ask to see the dealer book, or wait another few weeks for better pics to come out. Remember, 9/10 city vehicles have license plates....... Quote
JCC1004 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the pictures ForceMaster! That's my 6th. The airport is very interesting. A lot of my minifigs will find the girl in that set interesting. I'll be backing up LegoLiner here. I can see a steering wheel. Just becuase it's displayed next to Tiny Turbos or what ever they're called doesn't mean that it's TT. It is big enough to be a set my itself. Remeber this year's Sport's Car? It doesn't look Creator, TT, or a tradtinal set. It's more a mix of them all. Perhaps a promotional item? Edited September 29, 2009 by JCC1004 Quote

Legoliner Pilot Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Wait people! Don't lose hope in the new airport sets. Wout said this several pages back: 3181 Passengersplane, a better set than the big plane from the airport set, because it has not the <insert that tiresome argument> one-wing piece from the 2006 airport sets. more pieces I also discovered an image on Brickshelf of the airport with the plane so I edited it to show a key few points. 1. The female's torso. Hair piece isn't new, it is featured in the Camper set. 2. Plane has cabinets on both sides. Wonder what those are for? 3. The plane has the registration number (airplane jargon) "3182" which confirms that the airplane will be included with the airport. One last final note: Wout has posted a few pages back that the green trash can will not be included with the Octan tanker, but instead with the airport. Piranha Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Is that another use of the Hawaiian shirt from the giant Agents 2.0 robot I see there next to the female? Good eyes everyone. The new stewardess torso is really nice! I also see the aloha shirt figure, from the agents set Very cool civilian figs Edited October 1, 2009 by Macoco Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Good eyes everyone. The new stewardess torso is really nice! I also see the aloha shirt figure, from the agents set Very cool civilian figs I think the traveler set will be great- that handbag piece has never been available in a low-cost set, making it difficult to get large quantities of it without resorting to Bricklink. Perfect for our female figs. Quote
Alywin Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Thanks to reputable professional player from my local LEGO fans website (minifigs.net),official box photos of quite some of the 2010 new sets, including some unseen before, have been discovered: The images are re-directed from other LEGO fan's Brickshelf - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=403937 Photos which include images of 3177 - 3182 , 7207, 7208 , based on the somehow early uploaded instruction of 3182 in LEGO website A Holland's LEGO sales website also contains preliminary pictures of 3180 , 7206 , 7213. 3180, 7206, 7213 Enjoy! peterab Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Thanks to whung and xq5354 from my local LEGO fans website (minifigs.net),official box photos of quite some of the 2010 new sets, including some unseen before, have been discovered: Yes thanks for these. The blue plane appears to have the same nose section as the fire helicopter in white. These look like they would make great nose cones for bullet trains to me. I think I like the new fire station even more now with these new photos, I think I'll buy one and combine it with my old one. In the background of the fire picture theres a pizza shop in blue, I wonder if that was a prototype colour? Quote
Alywin Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) My humble comments on the new sets: 3177 - actually is a small "smart car"...! 3179 - not bad, but a bit oversimplistic than I thought 3180 - good looking, but without much details 7207 - actually exceed my expectation, good design and outlook 7208 - better than originally thought 7213 - strange monster! a huge fire service car with a lifting arm to lift a big rubber boat??? the fire service version of 7726??? Some small findings on the new pictures: The windows at the upper floor of the fire station seem somehow bigger than the existing ones, if you compare them to the doors at the lower floor The stretcher also seems bigger than the existing white ones, if you compare it to the minifig scale. Or my eyes are just bad? Edited October 2, 2009 by Alywin Quote
Joebot Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Thanks for the pictures! I love these big "action scenes" with all the Lego sets together. Reminds me of the old catalogs they used to include with the sets. I find it surprising that 7239 - Fire Truck is still available. That set came out in 2005, meaning next year will be its 5-year anniversary. That is almost unheard of for a Lego set to stay in production for that long. I really hate those airplanes. And again no runway with the airport, huh? Sigh. Quote

And again no runway with the airport, huh? Sigh. That Fire Truck is so great I think LEGO released it can't top it. However I figured by now LEGO would redo the set with a blue windshield. They did increase the price of the set to $23USD this year. With those massive Playmobile airplanes it would cost $200 to include a runway. Quote
BlueBard Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Thank you very much for the pictures! I must say I'm not a big fan of the 2010 City sets but that small car looks very very promising (I'm the only one who seeing some kind of SMART?) Anyway I'll wait proper reviews for a proper advice Edited October 1, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
Rick Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 * Little car looks sweet, Lego would be very emancipated if they include a male minifig with that * That set with the big fire boat is hideous and 8-wide, reminiscent of the coast guard version. In the Netherlands, sets like these go on 'discount' immediately after release and usually contain a lot of big parts. A nice exception was this year's orange truck with helicopter, which I got for €20 over here. * Haven't made up my mind yet about the repair/utility vehicle that can be seen in the airport scene. Must-haves for me so far: Little car, Octan tanker, and Pig farm. As I said, I'm not sure yet about the repair/utility truck. The fire station set is really nice (includes a cool ladder truck), but I'm afraid I have too many fire stations already. The rest of the fire sets: can't be bothered. Availability (info from Dutch site mentioned): * Fire sets, except the chopper (March) will be available mid-December * Airport sets (including Octan tanker) and farm are March 2010 releases * Repair/utility truck January (car isn't advertised yet, or did I miss it?) WhiteFang Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Alywin, thanks for sharing this piece of news with us! I am pretty excited with the airport transportation, especially the smaller sets. I am really considering to get these sets to expand on my airport. Afterall, I have the 2 <insert that tiresome argument> planes. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 That blue plane lookes rather good really. It doesn't have <insert that tiresome argument> wings and I think it' isn't 8-wide. Then that octan tanker, the smart car and the crane van look rather good. Dissapointed about the fire sets... Dr. Brick Quote
WhiteFang Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The blue commerical aircraft is tempting me!!! Looks similar, to Learjet or ARJ aircrafts. More importantly, the wings seemed to be brick-built. I am very sure I will complete this Airport theme. It's really very impressive, especially the smaller sets. Quote
Rick Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 That plane indeed also looks good, it uses the same nose piece as the fire chopper, but it looks a lot better on the plane. Are you thinking 6-wide? How wide are the other 'big planes'? 8-wide? As to the question superimposed on the fire theme picture... I think the 'new big windows' are combinations of the City bus/Fire ladder front window and the taller 6-wide 'shop windows/panels'. I'd really like to see some better pics of the 'smart' and repair/utility truck now... Quote
RichardAM Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Just the Octan Tanker and Cherrypicker for me please. And maybe the sea plane. Quote
