That passenger plane is awesome! Especially the brick built wings!

Reminds me of a CRJ-200! :cry_happy:

Has anyone noticed that Lego is going green?

First they make a partnership with Vestas, then they make a wind turbine transporter, and now pretty much all of the big-ticket sets include green recycling rubbish bins?

Releasing sets with airplanes, big fire trucks and an oil tank truck doesn't sound green to me :hmpf_bad:

I think 2009 was much greener then 2010.

Well, I meant as in the recycling bins and the Wind turbines, but yes, 2009 was definitely "greener".

I think the fact that 5 out of every 6 sets released in the City theme is some kind of fuel-guzzling vehicle - whether 4WD, passenger plane or sports car - means that Lego is never really going to look or feel 'green'

That blue passenger plane doesn't look anywhere near as bad as the red one (or the previous red, blue and green ones).

The fact that its not using the 1-piece wing is GREAT. And even the nose piece looks good (being 6-wide its a lot more usefull than the 8-wide monster is).

Now I just want TLG to make it in black :)

Thanks to whung and xq5354 from my local LEGO fans website (minifigs.net),official box photos of quite some of the 2010 new sets, including some unseen before, have been discovered:

Thanks Alywin for sharing! I love the direction that Lego has gone with these sets. I love Fire stuff!! I won't be buying though, as I have enough for my City, especially once I pick up 10197. However, I wouldn't mind getting a modern truck for this set, so it's a toss up with another 7239 or 7208, just for the ladder vehicle. I will, however, definately pick up a 3180 and 3179 at some stage next year, as these are different and 3180 has been a requirement for my City for a few years now.

2010 sets - ON!!!

Just in case the pictures get deleted (again! :sceptic:), I have them backed on my hard drive and I will add them to my Photobucket album if the need arises.

Nice thanks for those new pictures!!

I am not a fan of all the new Fire Sets, the fire station looks nice but I have one and I am happy with it :sadnew:

The rest I do not need I have plenty of fire vehicles.

Not a fan or the airport or plane either. I do like the figs they come with and the little baggage car.

The small white and black car looks strange and not very appealing to me.

I do like the Octan Tanker, Seaplance and probably the telephone line repair truck :sweet:

However none are really awesome or must buys for me, although I will get the latter, they are not as good as it has been recently.

Is that a blue city corner??

The new Fire Station does look nice, with the nicely detailed garage section :sweet: I think I will get this one, since I haven't bought any Fire sets since the 05 line.

I am not really keen on how windows and doors keep on expanding though. 6 wide vehicles is one thing, but all these 6 wide windows in buildings are getting out of control  Vertically extending them using the new windscreen piece doesn't look to be the best solution.

Hey did you happen also to us the number of construction books 3181 This number can be found on the back side of the booklet

That I don't know. whung might be able to help  if 3181 instruction book had really been uploaded early, but I doubt that...

It also seems I failed to give enough highlight on 3180, 7206 and 7213 pictures in my original message so some of you might have missed them. Highlighted below again:

A Holland's LEGO sales website also contains preliminary pictures of 3180 , 7206 , 7213.

3180, 7206, 7213

For your 2010 buying plan, the price at that Holland sales website for the new sets are:

3179 Truck Repair € 12.99

3180 Tanker € 19.99

3181 Passenger Plane € 39.98

3182 City Airport € 89.99

7206 Fire Helicopter € 34.99

7207 Fire Boat € 49.99

7208 Fire Station € 69.99

7213 Firetruck and off-road boat € 39.99

7684 Pigs Farm and Tractor € 29.99

70e = 100$ in the bank

70e = 70$ in any Lego shop

80e = 60$ in Finland (check the Winter Toy Shop for proof) :hmpf_bad:

I'm not. I just converted the priced for the fire station to dollars:$101 :cry_sad::thumbdown::cry_sad:

Look's like we're getting ripped off again! :cry_sad:

I would highly recommend not complaining about prices in the U.S. Our friends in Europe will beat you down in a heartbeat as they pay much higher prices than we do on a per piece basis. It seems to be Lego's common business practice to use artifically inflated prices in Europe in order subsidize the relatively lower prices in the U.S. So, we don't have much to complain about here.

Agreed. It is kind of sad that people in Europe have to pay a premuim over our discounted prices here in the US. :sadnew::cry_sad:

The fire station looks like it should be either USD $59.99 USD or $69.99 USD. Maybe even $79.99 USD, if some good pieces were included.

I'm sick of the people in Europe complain, at least you get ALL the sets when the USA get's shafted. :pir-tongue:

Anyways there is no way the new Fire Station is less than $79.99USD. The last one was $60, and was much smaller. The boat is most likely $50, so the station I think will be $80.

Thank you very much for the pictures! I must say I'm not a big fan of the 2010 City sets but that small car looks very very promising (I'm the only one who seeing some kind of SMART?) Anyway I'll wait proper reviews for a proper advice

I also thought of SMART when I saw the little car.

ALSO, If I am right, my eyes caught a nice thing: Green doors 1 x 3 x 1 on the OCTAN tanker.

Those will be perfect !!! :cry_happy: can't wait to get my hands on a couple of those....

hope I am not mistaken now....

Thank you very much for the pics, Whung and Alywin, for the links to more pictures, Rick, and for the price information, Alywin! :classic:

Regrettably the two sets in which I take the most interest - the Small Car and the Repair Vehicle - can not be seen very well. And the two Impulse sets don't appear on the pics.

Neverthelss here a short comment on the sets about which we hadn't pictures til yesterday:

Airliner: :sceptic:

nothing special, looks very similar to the one from 2006 - but the small yellow vehicle is very nice

Fire Helicopter: :sceptic:

great design - but the truck as well as the heli are much too big

Fire Truck With Boat: :sceptic:

great design - but the truck is much too big

Rapair Vehicle:

nice desgin with car doors and a additional street lamp and dustbin

Small Vehicle:

great design - looks like a Smart - it's a pity that not a female minifig comes with it

(Since the prices for these sets seem to be very similar to this year's sets I bet that the Small Car will be 8 Euors.)

Regrettably we don't get any civilian (non-Airport, non-Trains and non-Fire) buildings in the first half of 2010. :cry_sad: So hopefully we'll see than some in the summer wave!

Btw: The Fire Boat is more expensive than I hoped. On the other hand it's really very big so the price is supposably justified if TLG hopefully didn't forget to put much interesting interior inside.

I also hope we'll get another wave of City for the summer, but those release dates, some sets December/January (most Fire sets) and some in March (Airport and a Farm set), are the same as they were this year, so I have good hopes for some more City sets in the summer, like we had this year as well. :classic:

The new plane looks good, I may get one seeing as the wings aren't one piece. Although, personally I'd like it wider, but that's just me and wanting to be able to have an Air Stewards be able to walk down the middle with a little food

trolley.

I love the new 8 wide vehicles, as I love sitting two mini-figs next to each other in a vehicle.

The only four-wide vehicles I like are airport vehicles.
