peterab Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I can well imagine the solution:TLG released this new train motor this year. In the set description it says that it works with the new PFs as well as with a regular battery box (like in the RC sets). TLG will take that train motor, add a regular battery box and a remote control and tracks to it - meaning: for the regular train sets there won't be changing that much - at least no complete change from RC to PF but a mixture between both. For the additional Train sets we might hopefully get (such as e. g. a cargo loading station) I could well imagine TLG including the new PF functions. And of course there will be some new exclusive train sets, too. Klaus-Dieter I think you're probably correct in regards to the regular train sets. I expect to see a freight train and a passenger train with an RC battery box, motor and track. I hope we will get some more exclusives, maybe a new coach for the Emerald Night but I'm far from confident this will happen. I think any other speculation, ie single wagons, a new cargo station is all wishful thinking. I'm not saying it won't happen but TLG has dissapointed us (and esspecially you Klaus-Dieter) before. The Cobra Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Hey, some new pics from Amazon! (too bad for the prices - too bad for those who buy there!) Amazon 3177 small car Amazon 3178 Seaplane Amazon 3179 Lighting repair have fun searching for more 2010 city items. Quote
Rick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Amazon 3179 Lighting repair A 1 x 3 tile with hinge (foot of the lamp post), did that exist before? The repair truck isn't really special in terms of design, but it's a nice addition to the City line. Quote
Yeow Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 What in the world did they do to the color scheme of that car! It's a novel little design, but come on.. it looks hideous =\ Quote
Rick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 What in the world did they do to the color scheme of that car! It's a novel little design, but come on.. it looks hideous =\ If you zoom in, you can also see it's a little 'airy' in the back (it looks like there's nothing in between the two black slopes). Quote
Etzel Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 torso on the guy in the small car. A hoodie! And I'm pretty sure that's a new head too. Similar to another but the mouth is different. Quote
Svelte Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I love that fig! The 1x3 tile with hinge has been around for a while Quote
jansued Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 What in the world did they do to the color scheme of that car! It's a novel little design, but come on.. it looks hideous =\ Why - it looks like a Smart ? Quote
Rick Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 The 1x3 tile with hinge has been around for a while Sorry, too lazy to look it up A hoodie! Now if only they would do prints on the back like the Pirates line... Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Wow. I think the fire station has new heads, but that small car! New head, new torso, and a true 4-wide car! And the old fire nozzles have returned! Edited October 9, 2009 by Mariko Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 $10 for 43 pieces!!! *Falls over!* LEGO will be losing one customer next year, have they lost their minds? I thought the car this year for $10 was too much, but I figured it was because of the tree. Sheesh... Quote
BlueBard Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Despite the fact it's ridicously expensive I must say hurray for 3117! Some AFOLs have been waiting a small car like this one for years and years! Quote
Etzel Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I wonder if these prices are an adjustment of the US prices to the Euro ones, or if the rest of the world will get raised prices too? $10 for 43 pieces does sound very much but if you convert it it's €6.39 which isn't that much higher than e.g. 7236 Police Car (€6.99 for 59 pieces in Germany). But I suppose that won't be the case Quote
Yeow Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Why - it looks like a Smart ? My bad, I meant to say that the design looked fine, but the color scheme looked weird. Even though Smart Cars do have a line of second color on the back, it just doesn't seem to translate to Lego very well. Quote
metalandi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Wow, they did a really good job on the lighting repair car i think! It's got alot of tools, looks great overall and did i mention that the cars have doors? I will for sure get this one! Quote
Wout Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Nice pics. I love the new fig in the small city car. Ithink there is also a new face in the big fireset. You can now see the yellow thing is to let people (or cats ) jump on it safely when the are on high levels. Quote
ZO6 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) I am now sold on the Fire Station, Lighting Repair vehicle, Small Car, and Seaplane. The Fire Station looks to have the usual reception area complete with coffee maker which is quite fine with me. The second story has a wonderful little sleeping area (and are those 1x2 "pillow" tiles I spot!? ) and even a door(!) out to the fire pole. Glad to see the little supply room in between the two garages - I think the new rescue net is a great addition. IMO the two vehicles are fairly well designed with a decent amount of detail. Though the description says there is 5 minifigs, I only count 4 - however, the cat and tree make up for that. The Lighting Repair vehicle isn't the most attractive thing ever, though considering it's purpose who can complain? Nice to see a full set of tools included - as well as the extra lights, fences, and green bin. Overall a huge The small car is adorable. Love the size/design, the large doors, and the unique minifig. I like the sleek and compact design of the seaplane, and the wind sleeve and oil drum will add to my outback setup. The fire copter would be a must have for me if it had a brick built front (and preferably rear as well) as I quite like the included water bucket and vehicle. However, since I own the coast guard copter, I just feel this fire one is too similar yet not as well designed overall. The fire boat I like a lot and am glad to see it has a small interior, but I doubt I will pick it up due to space limitations. Edited October 9, 2009 by ZO6 Quote
metalandi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Just a question, is anybody able to save the original size pictures (the size they have when they are zoomed in totally), or know how to do that? Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Another good thing about the small car-- it has the new windscreen in trans-black! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Thank you very much for the pics, the sets descriptions and the price information, Alywin! Like already mentioned before, the Fire Helicopter and the Fire Station don't interest me: the Fire Helicopter is much too huge for my liking and the Fire Station much too common. Seaplane + excellent design - only common and not very well fitting minifig small "location" on grass (why not a very small pier instead?!) Car - very expensive strange design no female minifig (instead of the male minifig) + no number plate (so you can have a lot of these cars in your city without looking strange because of the equal number plate) car doors excellent new male minifig Fire Boat - very huge sleeper-cab is risible how can the dinghy be launched?! + roof and upper floor can be removed to play inside excellent desgin even a decent interior!!! Lighting Repair - tan baseplate (why not dark grey for a sidewalk?!) new design of the foot of the street lamp and different colors (in comparison to the ones included in 7641) + many tools and additional lamps car doors excellent desgin All in all: I must admit that the first half of 2010 City will be getting much better than I firstly feared. Of course we'll get the common regular Fire and Airport sets. But who cares since we'll get some small excellent civilian sets and a very well designed Fire Boat in which TLG even included a nice interior?! The Lighting Car is imo the absolute winner of the first half of 2010 City sets (imo even better than the Piglets Enclosure With Tractor)! Klaus-Dieter Edited October 9, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Now if only we could get a smart roadster... [The Smart Roadster is a variation of the regular Smart.] Edited October 9, 2009 by Legoliner Pilot Quote
Piranha Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Thanks for these pictures! Small Car (doesn't have a small price ) Obviously its a smart car or electric vehicle. The figure is cool and has a nice torso However the price is an outrage Fire Station: This one I think is slightly better than the 2007 one which was my previous favorite I like it alot and the fact that they are saving a cat from the tree is funny Good job by LEGO! Lighting Repair Truck: Very cool and I like how they have a green trash can for recyclables Also it has a great price and is a must buy for me Seaplane: This is a really neat little plane! Nothing much else to say As for the others they are meh Quote
Capt. Tavares Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 $10 for 43 pieces!!!*Falls over!* LEGO will be losing one customer next year, have they lost their minds? I thought the car this year for $10 was too much, but I figured it was because of the tree. Sheesh... Remember, Lego is made out of OIL!!! That is not the most cheap thing in the world right now...AND we get a NEW torso!! It is a bit pricey, but I don't care, as long as the quality of the brick does not become like best-lock or mega bloks. Quote
Derek Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 People, people, people. Take a chill. There is no way that that tiny little car is $10. I know Lego is notorious for overpricing, but this is just a little too outrageous to be real. And look at what site this is- Amazon! They always overprice everything! Everything will be ok! -darthperson Quote
