Capt. Tavares Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Dennis engine cabs look a bit like glass boxes indeed. I personally am not a fan of their design. Not too many Dennis engines running around in the Netherlands, but I guess the UK and Ireland must be full of them. That's why I like our style of trucks. Quote
prateek Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Fire trucks in Toronto look like that too, but the windows aren't as big as the set's windows. Quote
Ricecracker Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 (edited) Fire trucks in Toronto look like that too, but the windows aren't as big as the set's windows. Like which ones? I don't think they really look like the one in the set. and I really like the dark red and gold scheme.......can anybody guess where I'm going with this? Edit: I should probably mention that most of Toronto's aerials aren't brontos, but rather ladders. Edited October 14, 2009 by Ricecracker Quote

Navy Trooper Fenson Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Amazon Germany now lists a DK book called LEGO Brickmaster LEGO City http://www.amazon.de/LEGO-Brickmaster-City...6286&sr=1-5 It has 32 pages, is the english version and is supposed to be released on 18.7.2011. I suppose the release date is maybe a typing mistake because a Star Wars themed BM book is also set to be released on 16.8.2010. The book bears resemblance with the shortly released Castle and Pirates BM books, which also featured few pages and a decent amount of LEGO parts (including 2 figures each book). Quote

I hope its not like THE LEGO BOOK previously released this year, with more pictures than actaul reading material. It's one of those books that come with like 150 pieces to make a few small sets. There is a Castle one and Pirate one. The Castle one... http://www.amazon.de/LEGO-Brickmaster-Cast...3026&sr=1-1 Quote

Brickmaster books are actually only oversized instructions books for small sets and are mainly interesting because of the included parts and figures. Pirate Brickmaster for example: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=403606 Quote

Yes I saw this but not there. On Borders.com And Barns and Noble.com No comments or descriptions however. I hope it will be cool, but I suspect something Fire, Police or Construction related. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Thank you very much for this information, Navy Trooper Fenson! I'll wait and see what is included in there. But like Macoco already mentioned it very surely will be something for Police, Fire or Construction - so very supposably nothing relevant for me. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 On that old Czech website that we discovered a while back (http://www.Legoland.cz) it says that in January we might be getting some new roadplates... 7280 Straight Road and the junction7281 T-shaped intersection and turn 7567 Traveler It was listed under Lego City January 2010. But: Why are the product numbers the same? Looks like we aren't going to get strait and curves packs. The traveler, according to Eurbricks member Wout, will include a suitcase, Indy handbag, and a camera. Not sure what gender the minifigure is. And of course, it will be an impulse. --- It also seems like we will be getting two more impulse sets in June: June 2010 - LEGO City7566 Farmer 8683 Minifigurky What is a minifigurky? Not sure what is included, but it will definitly be a impulse set. But wait, didn't Wout say a few pages back that it will be a random minifigure and that you won't know until you open the package?? Wout also said that [if I can recall] the Farmer will be an impulse set with a pig! Finally, a way to get lots of Lego animals cheaply! Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Just an update, If anyone can give me reliable sources of Prelim or other images, I would be happy to add them to the gallery. Quote

wooootles Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I really hope the current police sets go the distance. We don't need newly revamped police sets every 2-3 years. From what I understand, the current police car used to be a last-gen police set integrated to the current police set (black police markings to blue) so that's good. Quote
Rick Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 True, same holds for the police motorcycle and prisoner van, they've been around since 2005 (don't pin me down on the exact year), like some of the fire sets. Quote

I bought mine in 2005 (it had just been released as there were all the 'new city' sets after World City got discontinued) when Lego still had their Birmingham (UK) store - which they should've kept - why not close Milton Keynes?... Legoliner Pilot Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Lets just hope that Lego doesn't try to over expand and bring us another Police Pontoon Plane or Fire Hovercraft... Quote

From what I understand, the current police car used to be a last-gen police set integrated to the current police set (black police markings to blue) so that's good. I would prefer to see all these not that interesting themes Fire, Police and Construction Site only every 6 years instead of every 3 years. But the list and pics for the first half of next year's sets show that TLG very supposably will not get away from releasing every 3 years these themes - even not although they asked us for input for new City sets and themes. So it's clear that there'll be again a new Police theme in January 2011. Is lego going to continune the police sets? Because personally i would like to see some police boats and a new HQ,But thats just me anyways. I could well imagine that TLG will continue to sell some small sets which sell very well - like e. g. the small police car - even after/during the release of a new Police theme. Btw: It's really strange that we haven't heard anything about sets for the second half of 2010 (although rumours for SW, Toy Story and PP appeared already a long while ago). It's time that we get some rumours - or at least some hints - to discuss about. Klaus-Dieter Quote

Legoliner Pilot Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Well they might treat us to new ones in Summer 2010... Not very likely. TLG has shown us AFOLs before that they have a three-year release "schedule" for Fire and Police, so I see no chance for new Police sets, especially since the current police sets were released in 2008.
