Rick Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Here in the Netherlands they sell them for a limited time, but typically immediately at a 'discount'. For example, discounted from €35 for €25 or even €20. The low price is possible because of the large pieces (typically), while it is a 'large' set. These sets also typically get set numbers outside the regular City range. Quote
wooootles Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 The 2010 Fire Boat just appeared on my local TRU, so I guess it's not too long until we see reviews of the new city sets. And on a related, wider-scope note, the new CREATOR sets sans the Apple Tree House are also stocked. Also, the basic gas station in this thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35303 is also stocked aplenty, $9.99 at TRU, as well as some basic house, also $9.99 (sorry no pics) Time to get broke! Christmas is a comin! Quote
Rick Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 as well as some basic house, also $9.99 (sorry no pics) It was known that this - along with the service station - basic set would come out, but I can't ever recall a set being in stores before even seeing a picture on the internet... Quote
danim Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Why do Lego release these odd ball sets ?Like this fire truck that carries the boat is one their biggest fire trucks they have ever done to minifig scale. But why ? Would not a 4x4 towing a boat/trailier combo be better than this monster of a whatever rescue thing ? I belive it is based on this or this Quote
Scorpion Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I belive it is based on this*SNIP!* HEMMT, F*CK YEAH!!! Upon further observation, is it me or do the new fire vehicles look an awfull lot like military vehicles? I mean, the truck+boat looks like an HEMMT, and doesn't the new fire helicopter look like a Puma? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I belive it is based on this or this I much prefer Lego designed this set around the first picture you posted 'Danim'. A rescue crane would be better, no, not better, PERFECT ! The amount of construction work that's being ongoing in Lego City, farms poping up like crazy and vehicles getting larger, an accident is waiting to happen. A fire crane could lift a fallen tower, attend a vehicle rollover or help rescue a trapped construction worker from under a big piece of machinery. But before we can jump to any conclusions, we need to see this truck/boat set in shops and then someone posting a review. Only then can we decide whether or not it's a good or bad set. Quote
sologuy369 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hey guys, Today I was at TRU doing some Christmas shopping. I was at the Lego section when I saw the new fire staion, net and all. I'm not kinding!! I think it was priced 59.99 or 69.99! Too bad I didn't have any (extra) money on me. Did I mention I live in the U.S.A? I not kinding!!! Quote

But reviews have already sprung up, so I wouldn't be surprised. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I think it's because LEGO confused TRU with another fire station when the last one was still around. So they think the 2010 $80 is the older $60 one. Quote
sologuy369 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Nope. It was 2010. It was this set. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. My first posted picture!!! Quote

Legoliner Pilot Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) I can't believe we haven't seen decent pictures of the Tanker, regional jet, and Pigs with tractor.... Edited November 27, 2009 by Legoliner Pilot Quote
Piranha Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I can't believe we have seen decent pictures of the Tanker, regional jet, and Pigs with tractor.... Huh? Where? Quote

jansued Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 New pictures on Amazon.... Best Regards, JanSued Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 New pictures on Amazon.... Best Regards, JanSued Okay, so what's the purpose of this vehicle ? Where does the quad bike hide to ? Did we not just have less that 18 months ago have a coast guard rescue boat and trailier arrangement ? I feel it would have been better to have a police search and rescue unit, Lego has never done 'poilce search & rescue' Yes they have done police boats - but that's water police. Anyway it does look interesting, but if I get this, well it would be only if's on big special or clearance. I prefer the fire station, fire ship and copter/4x4 sets over this one. Sadly this truck/boat will only appeal to boys, but it was a police one it may be wanted by boys and girls, since there has been female officers in 'search & rescue' down under. Here's an odd side note - with police how come I've never seen a police woman - I say it's about time Lego ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 There's been this Shell promo set. Okay one female officer in Legoland's police history, that's all there has been. It's time for some more female police again. Also what about mounted police, Australia. USA, etc. all have police riding horses for search and rescue, etc.,. Quote
The Cobra Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 There once was a woman in a fire station too. Quote
Rick Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 There once was a woman in a fire station too. 6382 also has a woman, but it is suggested in both these sets that they have some sort of administrative job. But then again, back in the days there was no way to indicate whether a minifig was male or female, besides through the haircut. And since hair pieces and helmets are still incompatible, we never know how many female fire- and policemen there were in 1980s Town. Quote
BlueBard Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Probably some of you would know already but a pic of the 2010 Farm Impulse set (as some other new pictures) can be seen at Lugpol member Tisen's flickr. Nevertless, as it was kris kelvin and not me who provided the link first you can see them at his own post about 2010 Lego catalog here Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Having seen the impulse set pictures, I must comment on them. The farmer, handy for a extra piggy and a blue water container/bucket, I personally would not have used a gun as a water tap just doesn't look right. The traveller, at least it something Lego has not done before, the luggage trolley handy for those looking to build a hotel and another camera, I keep losing those. Idea for the airport - Duty Free Store with luggage and cameras on display. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Did anyone notice with, picture marked confidential has been removed by TheBrickster. Link to image , the nose piece looks the same as the one on the fire copter. Also it is a smaller plane than previous blue trim plane 7893, what do you think ? Quote
