Small Car is $4.99 USD and Traveler is $3.49 USD at Toys 'R' Uses in the US. Edited December 12, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I not sure but I think this should be in it's own forum topic. Anyway thanks for the pictures - the car is cool must get and yes, it's the sweatshirt guy ! (printed front and back - cool !) Say hello Smartcar Dealership in my country town Traveller is good too, will a cool little trolley. Also say hello heliport in my country town Quote
Svelte Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I not sure but I think this should be in it's own forum topic. No, Pi was right to post them here. Since they're off-site reviews they don't really need separate topics. We will wait for some in-house reviews to hopefully come along soon! Quote
Etzel Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 The minifig that comes with the smart car is great! I'm going to get that one for sure. To bad they didn't have it in the store I was in today. However they did have 3178 Seaplane and 3179 Repair Truck. Didn't bought any of them though Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 If you want either of them buy them now at TRU, by January the prices will be at least $8 for the car and $7 for the Impulse set. I'm not sure why but when TRU gets a new set it's the correct price, but by the new year they are jacked up. Quote
Zarkan Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Late to the party, but I've got to say that the helicopter with limo set is a really unqiue and unexpected addition to the City line. I won't get it, but I admit that it's a breath of fresh air, even considering that City 2010 is looking a lot better in my eyes now than it was originally. Small Car is $4.99 USD and Traveler is $3.49 USD at Toys 'R' Uses in the US. So TRU finally got rid of the outragous Impulse prices from last year (up to 7 dollars a kit) and is selling them at the MSRP? Well, that's a relief. Quote
jonwil Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Can someone who has bought the new Small Car set post either an inventory or a grab of the inventory page in the instructions? Quote
BlueBard Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Those two sets are really a must-buy for me I specially like the Smart, so easy to modify and improve that I think I'm going to get an army of those Quote
Brick Floyd Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I'm drooling over the Smartcar, Traveler and Limo. I'll definatley get multiples of the first two, but I don't know if the Limo is worth the money. Quote
Piranha Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Nice, thanks for the pics! The hoodie figure is nice, but the car is useless to me. I will buy this set only for the fig Also I am glad that it is only $5 Is this a TRU exclusive ( ), or a mass retail? The Traveler is also nice This must mean there are other 2010 sets out there waiting to be found , before their scheduled release Reviews anyone? Quote
MAH4546 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Toys "R" Us did receive the Traveller and City Car sets this week at $3.49 and $4.99, respectively, but the prices will go up within a month to $4.99 and $6.99. Toys R Us tends to sell new releases at a discount price before jacking up the price past retail. The airport sets should be arriving at TRU next week in time for the Christmas rush. Quote
ACCURATEin Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I've got over 900 points on my VIP. I can't wait til january! Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Look at the list of set pictures that is pinned for 2010. The fire station is listed as the "City Minifigure Collection". Also, the list has incorrect names, that originally came from a very rough Czech translation, for example it is still listed as City Runabout yet the real set name is Small car. By the way, it is pigs with tractor, not piglets. Fire Station, not Big city Fire station. Same with the airport. Next, it is Fire Helicopter, not Fire department Helicopter. It also says Car Repair but this set is a truck that repairs lights. Most of the translation mistakes are on the review index. It is also missing the impulse sets, airliner, and helicopter with limo images. Here are the respective pictures: Quote

The Impulse sets at mine are $6-$7, so it will actually be more than the car. Stupid TRU. Quote

I updated the first post of this thread and forgot the pinned thread. Thanks for the reminder. That farmer impulse set is from a dealer catalog, though. I won't post it. I read that in the LEGO SW Visual Dictionary. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 They use wood as well for the larger pieces, saw it a Discovery channel doco a year ago (they were showing the 7897 passinger train being designed). Cool to have a designers job at Lego, sit in bean bags MOCing everyday with Lego in a pure white room, now we know why we get what we get each year - the good and the bad. 3177 uses a rare part 1x2x2 65deg. slope - had a hard time find a pair to build a MOC one - hope they bring out more colours - different colour smart cars in a town/city would be cool. That is lame But I heard that all impulse cost $5 at TRU so I am not really surprised. Hopefully the retail store and LEGO stores price will be better. I also hope these are not TRU exclusives Quote

The seaplane is $9.99, the utility truck is $12.99. I'm guessing here, but the limo/copter will probably be $29.99; the new green tractor $34.99; the jet $39.99; the new airport $89.99. Oh that sounds good to me now, thank you ! $30 for the Helicopter and Limo? I was thinking $50 or so, but who knows? I would prefer $30 myself Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 you can also make a blue 3181 with the Helicopters nose. Quote

The pig tractor set is much smaller than the helicopter and limo. The pig set is most likely $30-35, maybe $40 because it's a Farm set. However if the fire Helicopter is $40, and that just comes with a little car than the blue version of it with a "big" limo will be at least $40, more likely $50. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Thank you very much for these pics of the sets, whung! Airline Promo Imo last year's promo was already poor - but this is simply even worse. So I'm not angry about that it'll be a promo which I surely wouldn't be aible to get anyway. Traveler Like already mentioned: small, simple but nice set with some useful accessory you can surely use for the upcoming train sets, too. Piglets Enclosure Really a beautiful set! I really like to see that TLG gave the female minifig a new torso! Helicopter And Limousine  Regrettably the helicopter is that huge. But otherwise (at least the exterior of) these vehicles - esp. the linousine - look awesome! I really like that limo - imo using black bricks as windows was the right choice. I'm really surprised that TLG did desgin it 4-wide. I only wonder how minifigs can sit inside the limousine in the areas where there are no doors since the side walls seem to be massive.
