"March release" means December in the U.S.

The fuel truck, airplane and airport should be arriving at Toys R Us in time for gift-card shoppers after Christmas.

Not just supermarkets 'Jonwil' but stores like 'Kmart' if they are in a Westfield complex.

Back on topic - since the US has the repair truck, how about the fuel tanker has anyone seen it yet in the US ?

I have never seen a single k-mart anywhere in Australia that charges different prices for stuff than other k-marts, at least not on the things I look at and/or buy (LEGO, DVDs, kitchen stuff, etc)

Let's all keep the discussion focussed on the actual sets, please - there's a dedicated sales thread for Aussie-related stuff and even a thread for City Sets Availability for those wanting to know what is out where.

Thanks!

Okay so by now many of us have seen this image.

Now the questions can start.

The yellow semi-trailier is that a prop or is going to be a set of it's own ?

What is at the bottom right hand corner of the image, appears to be a roof with some elevated lights, what can it be ?

And I'll say it again was this an error or did Lego know the world would be watching ?

Besides that they news report said of a shortage of Lego, funny the TRU shevles looked pretty full to me !

It looks like the Taxi is pictured on the box on the left side of the picture, toward the back. Not sure what else that is in the set.

My thoughts as well. Looks like a train station with a footbridge. The station shares the same yellow dashed trimming (1x2 tiles I guess) as the platform in the passenger train set.

I can see what you mean about the yellow car like vehicle with a white roof, it does seem to look like a taxi and it would make sense too.

Now the question could be asked again what is the TRU exclusive going to be, is it still going to be public transport or will it be truck stop, or even out of left field city square ?

I don't know. Maybe a new gas station since the one from 2007 is now marked "sold out" on S@H?

Since there is no whole box but only a picture it can be only a poster and not a part of a set, too (although I must admit that this sounds implausible).

At all events I don't think that it'll be the TRU Exclusive.

But since we'll get supposably an elevated train as regular City set we all know now that the TRU Exclusive will be the City Square.

From the "2010 Train sets" topic (page 6):

And the big yellow truck on the airport picture behind her head could be "3221 LEGO Truck" due out next December 2010.

Thank you very much for this information, AllanSmith! :classic:

I wonder what'll be included in this set - apart from the truck itself and the driver. Plus I'm excited about whether it'll be 6 stuck wide.

On closer inspection of said image, there are hills and trees as if it was in the country in the background, the lights and those overhead rails or whatever makes me say - TRUCK STOP !!!!!

I-80_for_website.119155359_std.jpgiowa_80_1.jpg

Oh, by the way TRU is of course American and truck stops are normally considered American, the poll was conducted in the U.S.A. mainly, it does take much to work it out.

Since there is a big yellow truck comming out im under 12 months and this years garage which mainly looked after trucks, they could be the other reasons too.

Well thats what I think anyway, you may have your own ideas which is cool and alright, so what do you all really think the TRU exclusive is going to be ?

I agree, lightningtiger, the background looks like something country or farm stuff, so a Truck Stop seems really possible to me :classic:

Nevertheless, has somebody already talked about the new set in the background with the yellow car? New gas station maybe? :look:

That's what I'm starting to 'fear' as well. I was under the impression it was the least favorite, but maybe that was just AFOLs' opinions. It makes sense actually given that we've had something like town square with Town Plan and City Corner, we'll get a passenger train that looks like a 'city train' and most of what's on the artwork for the second option (public transportation center) has been - bus - or will be - taxi and 'city train' - released. The yellow truck pictured on the banner in the video could be included with a truck stop.

But even though it's by far my least favorite option from the artwork, since it will be an exclusive set, I'm quite confident TLG will turn it into something good. * fingers crossed *

Nevertheless, has somebody already talked about the new set in the background with the yellow car? New gas station maybe? :look:

New train station with a footbridge and a taxi (it's been discussed in the Trains 2010 topic).

Considering the City Square option is already mostly realized with the exclusive Town Plan and the City Corner (almost), I think that's the least possibility.

With that sweet yellow USA-style 18-wheeler (or 10-wheeler, really) I image Truck Stop is the most likely possibility for a TRU exclusive.

I'm hoping for the Public Transportation option though.

Of course my position is not completely neutral, lightningtiger and wooootles, since I'd prefer the City Square for the TRU Exclusive.

But even think about this:

1.

The Public Transportation Center is absolutely excluded since we'll get that new elevated train. A taxi is (very supposably) included in the new train station. And a bus is already included in the City Corner set. So what should a Public Transportation Center include otherwise?!

2.

We already have got two wreckers, the tank truck will come out in April and the yellow truck in December. Which other different trucks should TLG include in a Truck Stop?!

Plus these lights seem to be very small to me - so imo a small regular gas station sounds more supposably. And that there are lights on top does not say anything. Many modern industrial buildings (like supermarkets) have lights on their roofs in order to lighten their signs and the parking site.

Apart from a gas station, a small bistro and a garage what should a Truck Stop include?! But a garage is already available. And some sort of bistro can be included in all of the three options.

3.

At least Town Plan isn't available anymore - so ...

Maybe I'm even wrong - but to me it sounds to unsupposably that we'll get a Truck Stop.

Plus I bet that the TRU Exclusive will have the same boxart like all newer City Exclusives (Town Plan and Winter Toy Shop) - namely these blue bricks on top and on the right side.

Well, only time will tell us.

I now how many of you are hoping for public transport as the TRU set, but the toy buying public of the U.S.A. is one of largest in the world and would have voted for something that remined them of America, which would be either a truck stop or city square - I feel mainly males would have voted truck stop though. The suggestion of 'flagship' and heavy price tag indicates a very large set - a truck stop is once again the most logical - maybe 2 trucks including one semi, fuel pumps, shop, dinner on possibily 2 or more 32x32 base plates. But still we need to wait until the toy fairs to see it, unless someone in the U.S. gets lucky.

Besides the taxi appears 4 wide and looks to be modelled on the sports car out of 7993 service station of 2007, also the station building does appear to be small like a country town station with just a ticket window on a platform. Also the truck with the train crossing looks like a track repair vehicle, that isn't a cherrypicker but a crane/digger maybe like this.

Well, I think I've got the solution to what the set on the right bottom is:

Rick posted following picture in the "2010 Trains sets" topic:

trains2010.jpg

Do you notice the white-red railings and these two lights which are on the bottom of the pedestrian bridge in the new train station set?

I don't think that TLG is still that "crazy" about fuel pumps and big trucks - only think about there more environmentally orientated direction with the Wind Turbine Transport and the Small Car.

But the point of a truck stop being a very expensive sounds convincing to me.

I totally agree with you, lightningtiger!

This vehicle in the train crossing set seems indeed to be very similar to this one on the picture here.

If I remember correctly a TRU Exclusive doesn't exactly mean LEGO Exclusive - a la Town Plan/Winter Toy Shop. The Green Cargo Plane, for example, is a TRU exclusive, being that no other stores (apart from LEGO themselves) sell these.

I still believe that the City Square is least likely considering there are blatant Town Plan/City Corner buildings and structures that is/was already released in some other form. Two trucks in the truck stop option may be the tank truck released alongside the airport sets and the yellow rig might be the December set, but there's still 2 other trucks in that promo pic, which may very well be included in a theoretical truck stop set. Looks like the red elevated train from the public transport promo pic may already be coming to life on the new surfacing images. And that's my neutral opinion, because even if I prefer public transport just because I prefer it, any of the three will probably be something epic and I'll get my hands on them nonetheless.

And offtopic, TRU just got a batch of 3179 trucks, and I'm loving it! Won't open until Christmas, though :D

You're right, wooootles.

I didn't think about that.

All these trucks shown on that picture are parts of already known sets: the taxi of the train station, the train repair vehicle of the railroad crossing, the red truck of the cargo train set and the big yellow truck will - after AllanSmith's information be a Dec. 2010 release. And the already known tank truck will be released separately.

Btw: I looked again at the pictures of the new passenger train and now have high doubts that it'll be an elevated train. So we might possibly get a Public Transportation Center.

I'd like to know what "red elevated train" everyone is seeing. It's a regular red train on regular plastic tracks. There is a word for it, but all you guys are seeing is what you want to see.

In my post I referred to the old TRU exclusive poll, which had... a red elevated train.
