The Green Brick Giant Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 In my post I referred to the old TRU exclusive poll, which had... a red elevated train. The City promos have have big plain buildings in the back! Maybe we will get that too! Quote
wooootles Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 The City promos have have big plain buildings in the back! Maybe we will get that too! Fail sarcasm is fail. Do you really have a glutton for a flame war or something? Whatever the promo pics brought to life isn't 100% true to the image, like the Pizza place being a 'Cafe', the sky blue town hall which turned out to be dark green, the tanker which had a more prominent green underside. Looks like the green taxis in the pics turn out to be yellow as well. Quote

Because I don't see something the exactly the same way as you. Quote
MAH4546 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 The TRU exclusive will be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair in February, so I don't really get why people are trying to read into the leaked train images. Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Meh, the new sets are okay, but before we get all fancy, we need a the core basics: A bank, post office, decent hospital, and such. Sorry, but I don't see the possibility for a Grocery because there is already Green Grocer. Quote

You can see things different and have your own opinion, but sarcasm we don't appreciate. And the post I quoted (first one) is a good example of the kind of sarcasm we don't like much because it creates a negative atmosphere. Thanks for keeping that in mind during future discussions and posts. Quote
Bachus Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Those lights are not part of the exclusive, but the upper part of the new trainstation, as you can see here. Quote
Rick Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Those lights are not part of the exclusive, but the upper part of the new trainstation, as you can see here. I think we can indeed be quite certain about that now that we have the (albeit) preliminary high-res images of the 2010 Trains sets. Let the speculation about the TRU Exclusive continue. mikey Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 In the meanwhile: A yellow Lego truck with trailer! part of the June releases (source: Gerjan Lips @ LowLUG.nl) One of my favourate sets as a child was 6692, and this looks like a suitable remake. Im not over impressed by the design of the Tractor Unit at the moment, it might grow on me, or will require some modification, but for me this looks like a great set, but perhaps not 'straight out of the box'. Rick Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I hope this will be the final version of the Farm impulse. Looks pretty good with that little roof. Quote
BlueBard Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 In the meanwhile: A yellow Lego truck with trailer! part of the June releases (source: Gerjan Lennips @ LowLUG.nl) Looks really nice to me, even if I'm a bit "tired" of big lego trucks I wonder what those boxes are supposed to be, lego brick boxes? BTW, Thanks for the info, Rick Quote
Alywin Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I hope this will be the final version of the Farm impulse. Looks pretty good with that little roof. And it is much better than the previously known prototype! Extracted from the above source: Quote
lgorlando Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Wow! There's been a jail break on these new releases. It looks like this will be the year of transportation! Quote
BlueBard Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Love the idea of the taxi in the 7937 station here, even if the design could be really improved, but I really wonder how the 2 minifigs would be placed inside... Nevertheless I also see two City Cars in the 7939 so, do you think we will see a proper Taxi set in the future? That would be great, and the answer to many AFOLs' demands wouldn't it? Quote

I think I see two 2x2 seats in a row, actually. The back is mostly empty, so there's plenty space for a second seat. Looks like they went away from those humongous train end pieces that were in the last passenger train as well. Hurray! Edited December 23, 2009 by Rapseflaps Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have lost all hope in anything other than the truck stop. All the trucks in it are going to be official sets. Bye Bye, monorail. That LEGO truck looks good though. Quote
Rick Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have lost all hope in anything other than the truck stop. All the trucks in it are going to be official sets. Bye Bye, monorail. Doesn't the fact that all trucks in the artwork are )going to be) released - the transport truck (albeit with a flat nose), the octan tanker, and the lego truck (albeit with a long nose) - reduce the chances of there being a truck stop as an exclusive? But I get where you're coming from: it would fit the line of sets known so far, but so would a monorail (if that would be released you'd almost be able to build the 'option 2' artwork). But maybe a third 'train' is unlikely at almost the same time the two trains for 2010 are released. I wouldn't mind getting something like a town square either. I'm sure TLG will make something nice of it regardless of what the theme will be. Quote
Zorbas Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 ...do you think we will see a proper Taxi set in the future? That would be great, and the answer to many AFOLs' demands wouldn't it? I still can't figure out why TLG hadn't release even one during the last 25 years. To be honest though, I don't see a TAXI logo on this car. That's strange, taking into consideration that TLG has a thing for stickers. Quote

Rick Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Maybe it's still prelim... just like the Farm Impulse The two 1 x 2 panels are clearly meant to make it look like a taxi. I guess a sticker will be added in the official set. Quote

There was one in this Spider-man set, yet it only sat one minifigure despite being a taxi. Sorry for the size, it came from Brickset. Edited December 23, 2009 by Legoliner Pilot Quote
Zorbas Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Maybe it's still prelim... just like the Farm Impulse That was my initial though too, especially after seeing the picture from the new train level crossing. It has a different minifig depicted on the box side (the one for the 1:1 scale), and a different image on the side that the box can be opened. EDIT: You are right Legoliner Pilot. Dark Ages you see... Edited December 23, 2009 by Zorbas Quote
