I have lost all hope in anything other than the truck stop. All the trucks in it are going to be official sets. Bye Bye, monorail. :cry_sad:

That LEGO truck looks good though.

Stop reading into these images. Wait until February.

The fact that the trucks are already in other sets kind of gives away what didn't win.

THE FLOOD GATES HAVE BEEN OPENED !

OMG !

Where to start - first I'm right about the truck with the crossing being a crane  , second I'm a little disappointed that the bridge over the train track doesn't include signal lights :oh3: - aw well I guess I'll add some thing when I buy it - third the yellow truck AWESOME ! even my own dad who drove trucks for over 40 years would love this one !!!!!

Going back in a moment to that page and also check fickr for more stuff !!!!

OK, this is major speculation on this. The TRU will be a BLUE monorail (I feel this because we are in need of some blue in the traditional, yellow, red and white color schemes AND IMO the train station will also function as a monorail station. I didn't notice this before but those white trusses suspending the overpass could function very well for an elevated train (i'm going hunting for some trusses on BL tonight). I am also convinced that the height of the elevated overpass is exaggerated so that there is plenty of clearance not only for the train below but for the monorail to clear. Take a closer look. What do you all think?

I am so, so, sooooo....

Loving that Yellow Truck. I have the 4-wide (actually its 6 but you get the point) cab from 5-ish years ago, and this looks like an awesome 6-wide conversion. I usually stayed away from long trucks like that (police, wind turbine, heli-transport) because even though cool looking, may be far too big to move around in a tight downtown setting. I might make an exception for this one, though (and the tanker).

As for the trains... they're alright. They would probably never match the greatness of the 90s train sets, but they're still pretty good.

Sorry, 'Lgorlando', I don't think it will be a monorail as one of my now ten sources has told me just recently about a very big service station with some trucks with it although it wasn't in the pictures on flickr this morning.

Wow, they had to ruin such a good set opportunity just to make a mundane truck stop. YAY! No. Instead of getting something useful like a monorail or a few civillian buildings, we get a damn truck stop. "We listen to our fans" should be changed to "we listen to the kids"!:sceptic::thumbdown:

No civilian buildings, too many large trucks, an airport, and other crap we have seen too much of before. LEGO, what has happened to the good ol' days of 2009, full of civilian sets?

What is next, are you going to rename this theme "Civilization"?

Well, I guess it depends on the execution of the truck stop design. We could get a nice diner with some food options out of it and perhaps with some unique base plates like parking lots are drive ways. I'm surprised though, I can't really see TLC building such a variety of trucks given the huge release of recent trucks from the tow truck garage to the new line of items depicted in the 2010 line. I don't mind the vehicle build up so much but I was a sucker for the monorail

The only thing I will agree with you on 'Legoliner Pilot' is the lack of civilian buildings, more shops, a bank, a bakery, a butcher, even a lawyers office for all those black striped shirt crooks that always end up in jail.

Sadly Lego still think only boys play with the stuff (trucks, planes, fire fighters and police), but in Australian schools Lego is used by both boys and girls in class (hence there is Dacta).

Only if we all use a collective voice they might hear us !

If Truck Stop comes to fruition I doubt it will be just 2 hueg trailers and a big gas station---it might include a diner.

...Or at least I hope it includes a diner

Do any of you think that kids have any interest in a diner? No. All they want to do is "vroom" the trucks around and "fill" them up. :sadnew:

Why TLG, why...

Kids do like some dinners.....

3825-1.jpg & 3438-1.jpg.

Yeah these ones, I guess a Maccas style dinner in the service station would be right, in Australia we call them roadhouses.

1. McDonald's is a fast food restaurant. So is the Krusty Krab. None of those are diners.

2. How do the pictures express a popularity rate with kids?

The last thing I'll add to this is that at least in my own home city of Adelaide, almost every large servo has either a Subway, Hungry Jacks or McDonald's built into it. The Woolworths-Caltex I have breakfast at has a McDonald's in it.

Very few places have diners now, why yes McDonalds came along.

By the way, quote (A diner is a prefabricated restaurant building characteristic of North America) unquote - thank you wikipedia. I live in Australia, we don't have many diners - the 'milk bar' or 'deli' would be the closest we would have.

Lets just wait to see in Feburary.

In any case, MERRY CHRISTMAS, Legoliner Pilot. :sweet:

I don't know. If that's such a foregone conclusion they why do we "adults" even hope around for a new "CITY" set when all we'd get is just fire, police and trucks regardless? Because, those are the only things LEGO kid fans, want, right? My opinion? Kids, in general, like all that fire/police/big truck vehicle stuff first and foremost, but that doesn't mean they don't like civilian sets either. Surely the City Corner and camper sets and the like aren't flying off the shelves because of AFOLs and AFOLs alone?

The best thing about LEGO bricks is that I can just build the damn things myself if there are no official sets that I would like to appear :skull:

Yes, Wootles ( the name ), some kids like civilian sets, but the vast majority would rather play with fire trucks or police cars. This is proven by the fact that the Fire Truck from 2005, when the CITY theme was first starting out, is still here.

Well, true. That doesn't mean the possibility of a diner in a possible truck stop is zero. We still don't know what the TRU Exclusive is, let alone what it would include. I just wouldn't rule out AFOL-friendly structures (as in, a building NOT fire or police or rescue) on a future exclusive.

Yes indeed. I just want the limo! Either they'll be a lot of lonely blue helicppters on ebay/ bricklink.

It's a great concept for a LEGO set!

Then i'd be there to swoop up a few! :classic:

And of course there is a huge number of 4 wide fans who would have had Lego's head if it was a 6 wide.

So what? This isn't the 80's. 6 wide would have given more interior detail. but you never know. TLC might have incorperated some TV screens on the side or somthing.

Far superior? I don't think so! The cockpits were missing a second seat for a co-pilot, the planes had no controls other than a lackluster printed slope, and the only thing in the interior was seats!

.

I'm with you 100% on the realisim of the recent Lego planes. Kids also seem to preffer them to the old 4 wides.

I just finished going through all of the pics on the flicker acount. Everything looks great! Love the yellow truck. Nice to see a long nose rig instead of the flat nose that TLC was hooked on for so long. Looks alot like a Volvo Semi! Can't wait to start mocing some additional trailers!

And if this is old news i apoligise, but the repair truck is now avaible in the U.S. Got one for christmass! (haven't opened it yet though)

It indeed looks a lot like a Volvo truck. They sure made this one a Scandinavian classic. Btw: TLG did release a long-nose truck (7686 Helicopter transporter) in 2009

Tiger, is your "source" reliable?

Yes, all ten of my sources are reliable, one told me two months ago about the blue copter/limo combo and three weeks ago another about the triple minifig packs comming out after June.

Do you have more information on these triple minifig packs? (I don't remember it being brought up in this thread yet)

I show the pic of the yellow semi to another AFOL - he works at a CAT dealership and said it might be a new CAT prime mover built or just designed by International Harvester.

Pitty the poor minifig driver all the goods are hand stacked, no pallets or fork lift around.

Yeah and 'Rick' HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!!

Okay, quick edit - no more information I have been able to find out, the gentleman is question I have not seen at that store since - but he did let me see the PoP pictures first (now you all have seen too today).

Have a great 25th of December !
