Gerjan Lennips has posted the pics from the retailer catalog in higher resolution now (so still 'prelim/confidential'!). Nothing new City-wise, just better pics for some sets.

Thank you for that link. I am confused, however, on which one is the final design? This:

city_7566_farmer_impulse.png

or this?

The first one doesn't have a Preliminary stamp on it, so it might be a final, but at the same time, it might not be because the pig in the picture appears to be a mock-up instead of a finalized design.

The one with the little roof looks much more 'finished' and so much more like an actual set, so I'm definitely hoping it's that one. However, I see your reservations. Where did the pic without the prelim/confidential stamp come from again (what's the source)?

I think 'Rick' maybe right 'Legoliner Pilot' the first one we saw might just be the farmer impulse set, the pig may be costing Lego a pretty penny and corners have to be cut - the dog could have been made black or black and white like most farm dogs out there.

So which one is better three choices -

1.city_7566_farmer_impulse.png

2. link (although it's the same one above)

3. my_farmer_impulse_2.jpg my MOC one

Which looks more realistic and/or practical ?

Also on closer inspection the yellow prime mover could see the beginning of a new way they design their trucks and cars, actual realism - take the Small Car looks like some thing off an actual showroom floor in the real world, so why not trucks and maybe other cars with similar realism !

Odd realism in vehicles - why don't they do the same else where (like have more civilan stuff) ?

Thanks for these! I hope that means the instructions to the early 2010 sets will be up soon aswell. Oh, where have the times gone where you could find the pdf instructions already weeks before the release :cry_happy:

Argh, I hate those new airplanes designs... where the cockpit is basically one piece...

LOL at the cat and the tree in the fire department set!

I hope there's going to be some small set with a pig in it.

Please show me a decent cockpit that uses all bricks that is more streamlined than the one piece nose. :hmpf: In real life airplanes look exactly like that, not blocky and bulky...

Also, it would be nice if people actaully checked before they post about a "new" picture which has been in the topic for at least 4 pages. Those images are NOT new, they are simply snips of a scan of the dealer catalog that have been blown up to the point that they are so blurry and pixelated that you can't see anything.

Why not just make a one-piece, super accurate model, then? :sceptic:

EDIT: IT'S AN IMPULSE SET!!! Yes... YES!!

It's because LEGO has to be verastile in some areas and less in others.

EDIT: Thanks Ichiba. :sweet:

Found some cached images for City sets on S@H. I guess that means they will be on sale soon.

All of those except for the tanker and the large firetruck are available where I live.
