Again Kiddiwinks LEGO online shop revealed more 2010 set news.

2824 LEGO City Advent Calendar (already announced in Brickset)

7848 TRU Truck (TRU Excl)

8403 City House

8404 Fan Choice???

with some selling price for reference.

Thanks for the news!

If the TRU exclusive the Truck Stop then it would be quite a disappointment :hmpf_bad:

All my dreams of Monorails and Town Centers will have been hopelessly crushed

How could the least liked of the three choices win?

Maybe its a fluke?

I am assuming the TRU Truck is the LEGO Truck?

Very awesome, and look at the little Lego set boxes!

Would be redundant if they were sets of the LEGO Truck (Pic of a Pic)

However looks a bit looong and narrow to me, maybe optical illusion?

Also I don't like the way the trailer wheels are connected to the trailer. :sceptic:

8403 City House

Sounds great! Has loads of potential, and makes the City 2010 not as bad as I first thought

Also I can park my camper in the driveway or garage, since it didn't really fit in with anything this year

Now what is 8404 Fans choice? *huh*

I take it from the posts above about minifig design I'm the only person left who prefered when all minifigs had the same "taken a few Es" smily expression head? I bought the Community Workers set to ensure I got plenty of those a while ago... :classic:

I excluded that because no matter how much it is overused, it never gets old. I  that head!

However, some of those torsos are getting very old ( the mechanic overalls and that hideous plaid shirt come to mind). :hmpf:

Yes, but 8403 is still a City set. Can you get us a picture of the 101211?

Yeah. And I'm hoping for a house thats like the creator houses but actually in minifig scale. I've always felt that the creator houses weren't really made to go along with minifigs but to be displayed on shelf or something.

No, I won't post any pictures on 10211 Grand Emporium as that would be a sure way to stop the early preview pictures from dropping into my mailbox as soon as there is a rumor about new sets.

When they drop into your mailbox, will you scan them? Please! :sing:

I also concur that we need more heads and torsos. And also that some of the heads and torsos they DO have need to be used in more sets.

Some other torsos that have been overused lately:

I actually don't have a lot with the pot leaves on it. :classic:

However yes, I don't get why LEGO can't come up with new City pieces, they come up with new molds for new themes all the time, just print some new faces, or use some of the Atlantis faces with City and make some new torsos too!

Hasn't anyone noticed that at the top in the middle on the suit/vest torso there is a tiny upside down triangle of human flesh? What a quality issue! This has occurred in every set that has that pice that I own.

That is because it is a jacket with a white shirt under it. CASE CLOSED

No no, I was talking about this :

Edit: This is post #1111 of this topic. Make a wish... I wish for a picture of 101211 Grand Emporium!

Although we're going off-topic: that torso was first used in a Spiderman set. 4855: Spider-Man's Train Rescue containing one minifigure with that torso.

spd017.jpg

The torso has now been used in the Cafe Corner and some other City sets, although it's a flesh torso. I noticed that the designers of the box of the City Sports Car just editted the flesh away and replaced it with yellow... :hmpf_bad: I don't have problems with that actually, but if you're going to release it in sets with yellow minifigures at least adjust it.

I, personally, do not see Lego ever re-using it for flesh minifigs...

Either way, it shouldn't be too hard to re-colour the design. After all, the machines who print them won't care what colour they are, provided it's printed correct!

Yes Cian I really love the classic smilies. Back then a face could be anybody, male, female, young, old...

However, nowadays the fact that the faces are quite specific a face with a grey beard can't exactly pass as a young lady really. That's why I think that we should have more options. I know that there are a lot of heads out there too but they all look different styles. They should just stick with one style. I suggest the current standard - basic small round eyes with the white dots - and work around that. No fleshy rubbish, none with stupid open mouths, no over-cartoony looking ones....

It's a big ask but...

...I wish the eyebrows weren't all brown too, let's have some blonde, grey, ginger, black....

...add this with various other features, moustaches (men only!), glasses, some sad faces, some happy, male, female, young, old...

... and please give us a better selection of torsos (shirts, coats, pyjamas, bikinis) but not necessarily overly-detailed (printing only on the front of torso is perfect)...

...and i'd be a very happy Town (sorry - 'City') fan ready to splash the cash on perfect plastic people and expensive sets

Can we keep the discussion in this thread focussed on the 2010 City sets, NOT general issues of repetitive minifig heads/ torsos etc?

I know it can be a fine line but it is confusing to readers if half the posts are 2010 related and half are not.

I tend to agree with you, and feel free to start another thread to discuss these issues and continue there!

Thanks! :sweet:

I am sorry Svelte but that topic has everything to do with City 2010, because most of the torsos are repeated in the 2010 City sets, albeit a sweatshirt and a flight attendant's uniform. In fact, this is about City 2010 because most of the sets have over-used torsos and heads, right? Not to be rude, it's just both ideas have so much in common and are even associated with each other.

That's why I say it's a fine line. But in your post where you list all the heads and torsos that have been repeated x number of times, you don't specify where exactly in each of the specific 2010 sets they are supposedly repeated. This is the 2010 City sets discussion thread, not the 'LEGO radically needs to revamp their fig part selection' thread. Your point is just to say how repetitive the minifigs in City are, which is fine - in a separate thread devoted to minifig discussion. The fact that some of these torsos/ heads are used again in 21010 is not news to anyone

Going off topic to complain about fleshy printing of one particular torso which invites others to respond generates a mini-discussion which, while interesting, is not strictly relevant, or leads to comments like this:

It's a simple mistake that can be easily fixed... Why won't you, TLG?

How does this add to a discussion of 2010 City sets in any way? It really doesn't. Once again, I am not saying your points about figs are invalid, just better discussed elsewhere.

Also not adding to a discussion of 2010 City sets - talking about what you bought on sale from previous lines:

I'm glad I could get that Train Station for only thirty-three US dollars. I always wanted it, but forty-four dollars was just too much. Good thing I grabbed the Cement Mixer, Recycle Truck, both RC trains, Patrol Boat and Tower, Coast Guard Quad Bike, Cargo Plane, Coast Guard Helicopter with Raft, Truck with forklift, 7945 Fire Station, Cafe Corner, Town Plan, Cargo Plane, Air Mail, Coast Guard 4WD with Jet Scooter, Winter Toy Shop (Phew!), and the 2009 Advent Calender, as they are all on "Sorry, this item is not available in this country: United States" or "Sold Out" status.

Incidentally, the 10211 Grand Emporium (not 101211) is a Creator set and has its own discussion thread - stop asking for and hinting about pictures for it here!

Yes, but 8403 is still a City set. Can you get us a picture of the 101211?

I hope I have made myself perfectly clear.

No problem Svelte. I know topics do tend to stray off course. I was just trying to pitch the point that the 2010 City civilian sets, which I am really excited about, would be the perfect opportunity to give us some decent new figures. It's particularly frustrating always seeing City neglected in terms of new parts and figs when compared to other themes.

Rant over!

Anyway, there are a few 2010 sets I will definitely be splashing the cash on - the pig farm, limousine and passenger plane. I am also hoping that the modular emporium will be a good source of parts for City fans.

Just create a new thread and post your complaints/ ideas for new figs there! That's all that's needed!

You're pushing your luck. Don't argue with staff. Extended discussions about non-news makes the topic hard to read. This isn't your personal topic.

While searching for a picture of the 101211 Grand Emporium, I found a Dutch website that had some information, mostly release dates and confirmation of sets. You can view it by clicking here. There is also a new image of the 3181 Passenger Plane:

Also, some other pieces of info:

3221 LEGO Truck, expected in June 2010, 5-12 years.

7566 Lego Boer, Expected June 2010

THANKS Legoliner Pilot!

This is the set that kept me anticipated for clearer pictures - not counting the trains of course.

My assumptions were right in the spot. This plane is just like the old days sets. Not too many <insert that tiresome argument> pieces as far as I can see and the size is great!

Back to the roots I hope! :cry_happy:

This is a MUST BUY!

(...studs on the wings... :cry_happy: I kinda like that... )
