Piranha Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I haven't built mine yet, but it does look good. Looking through the instructions, I was really impressed they included 'business' type seating instead of the usual rescue stuff (which I was subconsciously expecting). It really adds to the high-powered air-taxi feel of the build A review would be nice *cough* *cough* Would you say this is better than the Coastguard Helicopter which previously I had considered the best? Razgriz Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Hi guys. There is a photo of Lego 3221 - "Lego Truck" on Google Images - first photo that comes up. Its marked with confidential though so I won't post it, but if you're curious then have a look. Its like an 18-wheeler. Looks pretty awesome. P.S. If I shouldn't have even posted this then please delete it - sorry! Edit: Also found this photo but with no confidential marker on the Web search. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/File:3221-PublicPreview.jpg Edited January 30, 2010 by Razgriz Quote
BrickStorm Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Would you say this is better than the Coastguard Helicopter which previously I had considered the best? It's horses for courses really. The blue chopper is slightly smaller than the coastguard chopper (it can easily fit under the blades) but comparing the two is like comparing an Aston Martin to a fire truck - both are brilliant at what they do, but forget about comparing them both to each other. The blue chopper really looks like it's built for speed and luxury, making it look ace - but I prefer the coast guard chopper for it's functionality (and because it resembles an SA330 Puma). Not that I regret buying it, however. this may also explain why my fellow aussies have gotten these sets very early - essentially, BigW (or some other chain) broke street date for release., hence why they are now suddenly available everywhere. So far, the shops/TRU local to me have had or currently stock: > Small Car > Seaplane > Lighting Repair > Tank Truck > Fire Helicopter > Fire Boat > Fire Station > Fire Truck & Boat [rant mode on] What's a shame is that stores in Australia and the US have already released most of the spring/summer 2010 range when the UK hasn't had some of the more 'wanted ones', despite the fact that the UK is closer than either to Billund and lego brick production factories. [rant mode off] But at least the UK get exclusives (e.g. Daily Mirror promos)... Quote

Other than the watermark, the picture looks exactly like the one from the leaked Dutch dealer catalog. Quote
Scorpion Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Got myself to the El Corte Inglés in Lisbon this morning and I'm pleased to report that all of the SW and Technic 2010 line up are there (got myslef a nice big 8048), aswell as the big fire truck + boat, fire station, smart car, seaplane and lighting repair. BTW, the wind generator transporter is also there! (Not new 2010, but unseen here in Portugal so far.) Quote

Well we in the land of Oz must wait unless we go S@H or pay a higher price from a online retailier for all the new fire stuff ! On the other hand, looks like the land of Oz is the just about the first with 3181 and 3182 - in TRU, BigW and Kmarts only as of yet. So some countries get lucky one way and others another. lightningtiger Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 This is more direct......2010 LEGO Canada Preview - City But no trains, no TRU exclusives (inc. truck) and this house that is meant to be comming, odd ? At least we know about the pig farmer set is set in concrete, looks better too ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 The TRU set will be shown in about a week at the New York City Toy Fair. I do find it interesting that NONE of the summer City sets were shown, maybe LEGO has something huge planned? *Hopes for LEGO City Zoo* Quote

lightningtiger Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi, I am new here, first post. I just wanted to say that the "confidential" stamps are actually Choking Hazard Stamps! Er, no.........they are watermarks for products not released yet hence we can not post directly to this forum, although why 3179 has the 'confidental' watermark on it when it's already on sale in shops is anyone's guess. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
speedblurr Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I notice that the "confidential" stamp is only on the US boxes, the ones with the piece count on them. The last pic that has the small car and Traveller, the third box also has the confidential stamp AND the piece count. Quote
jonwil Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Since the Pig Farmer has the "preliminary confidential" stamp on it, we cant be sure if its finalized yet or not. Quote
Piranha Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Since the Pig Farmer has the "preliminary confidential" stamp on it, we cant be sure if its finalized yet or not. Yes, who knows, LEGO could even take out the pig, however I doubt that or else it would make alot of people angry Quote
ILikePi Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) 3211 LEGO Truck looks very interesting. Pretty cool how TLG decided to provide us with a truck that delivers minifigure scaled brick bucket sets to minifigs! Edited February 5, 2010 by ILikePi Quote

I'm a conformist! ! There are always City sets that come out in the summer, I doubt all we will get is the TRU set and the Trains no one can afford. So if we haven't heard about anything then it can still be Zoo. Plus didn't someone on hear who works for, or something, for LEGO say there will be a different theme for the summer and not just a Fire / Police / Hospital? I'm holding out hope! :) Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) There are always City sets that come out in the summer, I doubt all we will get is the TRU set and the Trains no one can afford. I totally agree with you, The Green Brick Giant, that Trains sets are very expensive. Nevertheless it's clear that TLG decided to release the new Trains theme as this year's summer line. But there will be other sets, too: the City House, the Lego Truck and the TRU Exclusive. I think if the Zoo was on the cards this year, we would have heard a whisper of it by now.Unless something does jump out late in the year, who knows ? I'm a conformist! ! I totally agree with you, lightningtiger! There surely will be no more City sets - apart from perhaps and hopefully a new Winter set - this year. Do only compare at how many big sets we got last year and how many this year you already will see that TLG releases more (big) City sets than the last years. The TRU Exclusive will be this year's City Exclusive. And - like already mentioned - if we've got many luck we perhaps might even get a new Winter set. But more than two big exclusive sets is imo really unrealistic to believe. And don't forget about the City House which will be some sort of hard to find set, too. Nevertheless I do hope for some zoo sets, a bank and a post office in summer 2011, a new Hospital theme in spring 2011 and a cargo center, a mall or a pleasure cruiser as exclusive City set for 2011. Well, let's see what we'll get. Klaus-Dieter Edited February 8, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
